  1. Mine doesn't rattle. It came from these folks: http://www.burnsstainless.com/
  2. I would probably call Wilwood. They make the Outlaw brakes that are on my Birkin and Caterhams come with their brakes too I believe. I would guess their support folks could set you right up. You might have to reset your front/rear balance and possibly change a master cylinder too. I'm sure others will chime in with their thoughts.
  3. Great looking car. I would want to park next to a shiny Airstream and get a photo...
  4. That does look great. If I remember correctly from my last timing belt change, the valve cover on my Zetec is plastic. Is yours metal or does powder coat work with plastic too?
  5. Here is the photo from my Birkin. http://www.usa7s.net/vb/attachment.php?attachmentid=14206&stc=1
  6. Mine has 2 screws on the bottom that hold it as well as two more bolts that are on flanges the hood covers. The two on the bottom come up from underneath the car and have rubber mounts to the frame. I can take photos tomorrow if that would help.
  7. Welcome back! Sounds like a fun seven is coming your way.
  8. After several removal and disassembly operations trying to fix hard shifting, replacing synchros, etc. Eventually figured it out noticing how the arm interacted with the throw out bearing the bearing interacting with the clutch. Move it too far, and the clutch re-engages somewhat.
  9. A little different, but may be pertinent. On my T9 5 speed, with hydraulic actuation, a stop had to be added because the arm was traveling too far, over center, allowing the clutch to drag. The symptom was hard shifting. Adding a travel stop fixed the problem.
  10. Mobil 1 is now a low zinc formulation, which will keep your catalytic converter from being fouled earlier. If you aren't running a cat for 100k miles, you might want to consider a higher zinc (zddp) oil. I have been using the Driven products lately, and there are several products in both their street performance and racing oils that might be good for you. http://www.drivenracingoil.com/dro/products/competition-race-engine-oils/l/1116.html Zinc is the friction additive that helps maintain film strength and reduce friction on things like camshafts and journal bearings. There are other brands as well that the EPA regulations have not impacted in the last year plus. Google ZDDP and you can find tons of information.
  11. I assume the valets leave Se7ens right in front....
  12. That looks great! I love the color.
  13. I had a piece of plexi cut for mine at a local glass shop and I have an extra windshield as well. I think I could have cut it better myself using a hand held jigsaw.
  14. That is a great looking Se7en! Very cool.
  15. I'm not geographically near, but I have a Birkin S3, with a lowered floor and taller roll bar. I'm 6'2" with a 36 inch inseam and it works.
  16. Those are really good prices. Mine are several years away from being worn out though.
  17. Here is a better photo of how this floor looks. If the concrete is well prepared, it stays in place great. http://www.usa7s.net/vb/attachment.php?attachmentid=13850&stc=1
  18. I put epoxy floor in a shop we recently built. It seems to be pretty durable so far. It is a tan color with flecks of something that is sprinkled on it. It is relatively inexpensive too. http://www.usa7s.net/vb/attachment.php?attachmentid=13846&stc=1
  19. I thought that too. Even though I have reverse in my Birkin, I hardly ever use it. Plus, sevens are so easy to push that it wouldn't have been as big of a thing as I thought it would.
  20. Bob, Thanks for posting these. I read your posts and drool over the photos every week but have never thanked you and let you know.

    PNW Tour

300 miles a day in my Birkin made my back sore just reading about it. We do have some fun roads in the Lake Chelan area, with some twisty roads without much traffic. I sometimes go from Chelan to Ephrata, going up McNeil Canyon and following the twisties to Ephrata for lunch. Then, I can come back through Waterville and Orondo for a loop that is about an hour longer than is really fun in my little car. There is another loop through Twisp through Loup Loup pass and back down highway 97. Back roads can be taken to Leavenworth, Plain and the like as well. The weather is also pretty reliable in the summer, although it can get a bit warm later in the day. Anyway, I would be happy to host and organize one base at Lake Chelan. I would find a way to get to a track day somewhere in the NW with others as well.
  22. I like it. It makes me smile looking at it and I bet it is fun to drive.
  23. The bumpers look like they were part of the original design, they look great! Enjoy.
