  1. See Kansas. Wisconsin (Door County) would be nice. We have a cabin ringh on Lake Michigan so a nice swimming beach is available along with lots nice roads. Russ
  2. I could do it unless someone else wants to. I live in the Kansas City area so that is actually in two areas. Plan on having my locost and possibly another at the KC All British show and the Fayetteville, Ark shows in September. Both would make great venues for a show or we could go it on our own, Russ
  3. BA is 1600cc . Assembly was started on Dec 31 1978 by Tom Seacrest, after 8 pints of Guiness, and finished on Jan19, 1979 after he got out of the hospital after suffering a one car accident on the M1 early on the 1 of Jan. Just kidding but a BA is 1600. Russ
  4. I was told that my Locost came over in a container with a bunch of others. Maybe they are related. Mines RHD though. It is definatly a crossflow. I have a Haynes manual and could find out the size for you if you wish. It looks like a 1600. Is it a 4spd? The BH looks small like it has a Sierra trams. My 1300 has a 4spd but the BH it huge. Russ
  5. Al , your quote about happiness would make a great bumper sticker for our cars. Too bad we don't have bumpers, Russ
  6. The British car show in Fayetteville, Ar(Sept 7&8) is a great venue. I went there last year and plan of going again this year. It is a well planned event. They give you a map with lots of self guided tour roads to go on. Russ
  7. You're mean. I wish I would have done that. Russ
  8. Windshield. The wind deflector just did not cut it. Windshield wipers. Just in case. Bikini top. Also just in case and it is nice on hot sunny days. Hood scoop for air cleaner that sticks out of the hood. Looks just like the cover of "Lotus 7 and the Independents" Rear boot. Usable space to haul beer without it falling on the pavement. Installed a heater. Now I can stay warm in the winter while going to get the beer. Next winter: Install an 1800cc Miata engine and trans to replace my Ford xflow1300cc. I'll more than double my HP. Hope the dif can take it. Getting beer will be faster now. Make doors New fuel cell New dash insturments New pedal assy. Russ
  9. Wow that is nice. Maybe he could finance his build by making those for others on this forum. If he gets to KC, I'll give him a ride for one of those, Russ
  10. If you can get a copy of the state code that applies to your car and carry it with you. That way if the guy stops you again you can show it to him. Or even better get the license department to give you a letter. Cops have long memories so he will be on the look out for you. Russ
  11. Also look at the Malone Skunk in Briton. That's a neat trike. Russ
  12. I did that 9 years ago. It's a great feeling. But I had more time to do things whenI was working that I do now. Too many irons in the fire. Good luck, Russ
  13. It looks like everything has come full circle. Life is like that. Tell her happy birthday for me. I took my 83 yr old mother in law for a ride in mine and I think I scared her to death b4 I even got out of the driveway, Russ
  14. Excuse me but that did not look like you were going 30mph!!!!! Looked good. And sounded better. Your almost there. Russ
  15. LOwflyer, that is an interesting trailer. How did that top work?????? What guage ali diamond plate did you use? How did you fasten it? Russ
  16. There are ways to determine that but it would take a mechanical or structural engineer to figure it. I think if you figured 1/2 or 3/4 of the total you would be safe. I used gas struts on anothere trailer I modified and just took an educated guess and it worked out great. It is better to have too much than not enough. Think about wind, rain, snow loads also. I would also add 5% for welds, fasteners, caulk, etc . 1x2 .072 is 1.83#/ft 14ga is 1.6#/ft. .040 ali is .564/sf. Russ
  17. westtexas, If it is 1" square 16ga tube it is .827#/ft and .032 ali is .452#/sf so your ali will be slightly higher. I know this because I am building a similar trailer for my 7. Only the top will slope down at a 30deg angle. Russ
  18. Oil leaks? It's British. If it ain't leaking, you're out of oil. My xflow 1300cc leaks all the time although not in the carb area (Single barrel downdraft). Be sure to check the valve cover and pan bolts occasionally. They will back out. My red line is 5800 on a stock engine. Congrats on the purchase. You'll find out the more you drive it the easier it is to get in and out because it makes you feel younger, Russ
  19. Is there any way to get fresh air to the carb with out going over the rad? Scoop? I put one on mine because the air cleaner sticks thru the bonnet. Air will take the path of least resitance. I did not think having a little air going around my rad would matter till I blocked it all off. Now I never have any overheating problems. Any air going around will screw things up. Put a temporary blockoff in and see if it changes, Russ
  20. I assume you have blankoffs around the rad to keep air from getting around it, right? Russ
  21. I've seen similar things at Krueger Game Reserve in South Africa but not that good. That was amazing. Russ
  22. It's rainning off and on here, so no blats in KC today. You west coasters have all the luck, Russ

I can't imagine that many cars at a car show let alone all Brits. Makes the shows I go to look boring. I have heard that after that show they came in with bulldozers and scrapped off the top 250cm of earth and were able to extract 293 barrels of oil, Is that true??? Ha ha ha. Great looking car, Russ
  24. All I can say is WOW. Russ
  25. Oh, man I'm heat! But at $34500 I think I'll go take a cold shower. I have always loved that car. The Malone Skunk (UK) is another but can't get it here. Russ
