In Texas the you can get a custom car registration that requires no front plate or annual inspection.

I did the same thing a couple of years ago. It is standard size with Duratec 2.5, no fenders, no windscreen, no paint, no seats, just the original style seat cushions. I live in Kingsville about 4 hours south. The car has been on the street for about a year and half a dozen autocrosses.

I found that battery cheaper on ebay. The upside of lithium is they hold a charge for a very long time, they are much lighter and have slightly higher voltage. The downside is that they are more expensive. The Birkin is has been on the road for a year and about 3,000 miles with no problems. The one in the RV-4 cranks a high compression Lycoming IO-360 (360 ci). I actually replaced a PC680 in with the Deltran in the airplane.

You can save about 10 lbs by running a lithium battery. I'm running one in the Birkin and also in the Van's RV-4. The PC680 weighs around 14 lbs and the lithium around 4.

This is much worse than folks looting stores and burning police stations.

I drove my fenderless, windshieldless Birkin to the airport and fixed the brakes on my Van's RV-4 airplane. The little airplane is equipped with a Lycoming IO-360-Exp, a fuel injected 360 cubic inch four cylinder putting out 200 hp. It will do 200 mph right side up or upside down.

A couple of isolated cases are the Diamond Princess and the USS Roosevelt. Both had 100% or nearly 100% testing. The infection rate on the Diamond Princess was 21% for the passengers with median age of 69 and 15% among crew with median age of 36, zero death rate for crew and 1% death rate for passengers. For the Roosevelt the infection rate was 14.5% with one death, a guy in his 40s. Just guessing that the average age of the crew is under 30. In both cases the majority of those infected were asymptomatic. It is likely that in both cases one person infected the whole ship. New York City, with a population of 8.4 million has over 15,000 death so far. If you assume an infection rate of 15%, you get 1,260,00 infected and a death rate of 1.2%. Hmmm.

Based on the Diamond Princess model, I predict around 50,000,000 infected with 500,000 dead but that the overall deaths of 3,000,000/year in the U.S. will not change much meaning that the 500,000 dead from Covid-19 will come from the 600,000 dead from heart disease, 600,000 from cancer, etc.

C7s are descent cars. I have a '16 C7 M7 Z51. Straight line is about the same as my Birkin if you don't count top end.

How hard is the alternator to get off? If you can take it to some place like Autozone they can check the output for free.

Not normal. It could be faulty gauge, battery or alternator.

Finally got the Birkin running, S3 from Tom Carlin, 2.5 Duratec, T9 with tall first, Subaru 3.70 LSD. Anyway, started out on Enkei 7x15 wheels with Toyo R888R in 195/50-15. Took it to the drags and autocross. I think I need more tire. I would like to keep a square set-up but not married to it. This is a street legal car so I need a DOT tire. It also has no fenders so that is not a concern. The gearing seem pretty good, looks like around 140mph at 7k in fifth, 1st is low enough that I can light 'em up with just throttle from about 1,500 rpm, I guessing around 200 hp, stock Duratec 2.5, Crower cams, throttle body injection, headers
