In California, I got to think if you went to the DMV office, which is always pressed for time, and and just handed over the registration paperwork they wouldn't handle it any different than a '69 camaro.
I'm not sure about it standing up... it just felt more natural to break hard and ease off as I started leaning... more of a flow thing. Of course I never lost the front wheel so I might of changed my tune after a low slide;)
Yeah, almost got a trackbike but my racing days are over and knowing me, I'd start hot and heavy and then go to trackdays 3 or 4 times a year. Figured I can do that with the 7 and still go out regularly for some early morning low flight reconnaissance.
I'm probably not the best guy to ask about tires.. I've only had it on the track once so far (fixing a G-load fuel starvation problem as we speak).
I do know that the tire pressure makes a huge difference. I'm running 20psi all around but am going to lower the back a couple pounds and check it out as the fronts are like glue but the back lets go first. But that probably has a lot to do with me.
I just found out you should have all your braking done before turn it... on my sportbike there was a little more easing off as you leaned in; guess that's not best approach for this car;)
Will be interesting to see the LM complete... and see how it cuts thru the air. I noticed "Pearl" has a more traditional cowl set up, hadn't seen that before. Nice stuff!
Awesome bikes!
I actually looked at getting one of your frames a few years back (love cycling but really didn't have the time anymore).... soooo, the money went into the S2K (you don't have to be in shape to take it out for a century ride).
It would of really been personalized as my name is Kirk as well;)
More conveniant than a Sedgeway... still comes off as if to say "how lazy can we be". Hopefully there's a benefit for some. Video is in English

Don't know if I'm repeating myself (feels like deja vue)... I've got 17x8 (225s) & 17X9 (275s) offsets are 35mm in front & 43mm in rear. I have 5x114.3 all around due to an upgraded STI differential.
I have to thank WestTexas for the dimensions when building mine, came out perfect.
I think this is about max for street..
How sad is that.... now you'll have to wash all the clothes and start dinner when you get home while she unloads the car and spends her time in the garage wiping it down etc...
Don't forget to get her a beer while she watches SCCA racing on SpeedTV and tells you what they're doing wrong. Next time you beat her she'll start accusing you of changing the car set-up to favor you...
Just kidding, I wish I could get my wife to go out there and share the feeling. Your a lucky man. I bet you'll be able to get a lot more performance parts and go to more tracks as she's into it as well. Enjoy it!
Well you likely wouldn't use the suspension bits... though Toyota, might be a bit of a hassle partswise and troubleshooting any ECU issues etc.. considering it's a Japanese spec
Not sure, it belongs to my daughter's boyfriend... just know it has true 1080 High Def and it fit in the palm of his hand.
Wished he wouldn't of hit the pause button instead of record on some of the tighter stuff. I think he was a little distracted by the G forces;)
I have Falkens.. 225/275 on 17in wheels (8 & 9in widths). I can't spin mine in a straight line while in 2nd. It may be more due to the 3.90 STI rear end rather than the regular suburu 4.11. I imagine it's a bit slower as well.
But it's the right set up for a supercharger;)
I was thinking the same thing...
At Edwards Air Force Base, in the 80s, they had on display an F104 (that's the one that had just about the smallest wings ever for a jet fighter and was nicknamed "the widowmaker"). This particular jet went for a high altitude record and actually had little jets (basically holes where thrust came out) on its hull to help orient it when it got so high up there.
