    Old Cars

Amazing! Creating something like that, and mountain climbing, are 2 things I can appreciate but will never attempt to do.
  2. That's a beautiful area, know several people that have moved just across the State line there after retiring...

    New cpr method

Also, if your unfortunate enough to be in the situation to perform CPR, don't beat yourself up if the patient doesn't respond. I've probably performed CPR close to 200 times in my firefighting career and have only brought back 3 people. Odds are not good unless you've actually seen the patient go unconcious or have a defibulator handy (and paramedics get there quickly with follow up drugs). Most of the time the person is found after they've been missing a while (like in the bathroom or hasn't woke up at the normal time..). I've also never heard of someone coming back when the heart stops due to trauma (major injury) unless perhaps it's on the operating table. Sorry for my depressing experience/opinion but I've always felt sorry for those that perform CPR (once in a lifetime experience) and then feel it may have been their fault that things did't turn out like in the movies. I'm not discouraging anyone from taking classes and being prepared... heck, I hope someone knows it should they witness me going down;) You just never know if the victim will beat the slim odds.
  4. May be a better alternative for women than stripping for their college tuition;) COOS BAY, Ore. - A police survey says panhandlers outside Wal-Mart in Coos Bay can make $300 a day. Inside, it takes a clerk a week to make that much. Police say people who have a problem with that needn't look to the law - asking for money is considered protected free speech. Coos Bay authorities say most panhandlers are not criminals. Coos Bay Police Captain Rodger Craddock says most have lived in the city a long time and they actually have homes. Craddock says, "This is just their chosen profession." He says most are docile, and that people should report those who are not. Bob More, director of housing and emergency services at South Coast Community Action, says many panhandlers are there for the money - to feed their addictions. He suggested a voucher system involving tickets people could give that are good for a meal or bed in a shelter.
  5. Yeah, You've missed the chance on a couple excellent examples over the last year. I think it's a good move to look at used ones for another reason as well... they have the bugs worked out. If you read this site a lot, it seems all types of 7s need a little shakedown/fine tuning when first put on the road/track. Once done though, it's tough to beat the reliablility/dollar benefits of a S2K... especially a used one.

  7. thats funny! would be nice if it worked on those electric cars;)
  8. Yeah, it was just some good ol boy shop... but I don't have them high-fulluzen HID headlights;) If you ever come down to do a day at Buttonwillow, stay another day and I'll gladly show you some fun roads..
  9. Wow, I just went to some authorized shop and they basically checked to make sure the lights worked. That was it... 10 minutes.

  13. I've seen some video of nitwits thinking these vests stop the bullet without anything happening to the wearer. It's pretty funny to see their reaction to the pain of the bullets force hitting them. You're likely to get a bruised rib etc... from that force, though it doesn't penetrate it still smarts.
  14. Seems they have an unusual amount of accessories for Miatas here;) http://www.overtherainbowshop.com/auto.htm

I guess with today's technology it makes it hard for politicians to do what they've always done when it comes to padding their war chest. We've gotten to see more of a "what's in it for me" rather than compromising for the greater good. It's kind of nice to see that a lot more people see politicians of both parties being self-serving. And I do think it can get worse... if Washington's Republicans follow California's example of setting rigid limits on what they will vote for things will continue to decline. California is really in trouble. I think our primary election process is part of the problem as we get candidates trying to please their base in the primaries and we end up with a choice of far left or far right. Then, after winning, they go to Sacramento and naturally butt heads. And for fear of not getting re-elected, no one compromises. We get to vote on open-primaries this year and I hope people realize this is in all of our bests interest. Also, voting to take control of mapping out political districts away from State Congress will hopefully pass too. My 2 cents
  16. I like the front, the side pod vents and the headlights are ok (the only aero headlights I've seen look good are on a Prowler in my opinion). I don't think anyone likes the rear fenders. But there are some high HP guys looking for downforce (Kevin and his Mojita for example) and a rear wing like that might work nicely if it incorporated the roll bar too... better than the dirt midget look.

A lot of pissed off people during this "Great Recession". Doesn't help when everyone but those we bailed out on Wall St are suffering (and them throwing these bonuses in our face). If the Republicans had the seats in Congress that Democrats do, and the presidency, they would of held ranks and got things done quickly. Don't confuse that with me agreeing with what they would of done, it's just part of the frustration people are having with the democrats getting things done. With 24/7 news and cable shows, things are sensationalized to get ratings... causing more apprehension and fear. So basically people who are hurting, scared (and watching Fox) will look at who's in charge and blame them;rightly or wrongly. It is ironic that Senator Kennedy, who was the champion of Universal Health Care, dies and is replaced by a Republican who could be the one responsible for killing Health Care...

  20. "Sixty is the worst age to be," said the 60-year-old man. "You always feel like you have to pee and most of the time I stand there and nothing comes out." "Ah, that's nothin," said the 70-year-old. "When you're seventy, you don't have a bowel movement any more. You take laxatives, eat bran, sit on the toilet all day and nothin' comes-out!" "Actually," said the 80-year -old, "Eighty is the worst age of all." "Do you have trouble peeing, too?" asked the 60-year old. "No, I pee every morning at 06:00. I pee like a racehorse on a flat rock; no problem at all." "So, do you have a problem with your bowel movement?" "No, I have one every morning at 06:30." Exasperated, the 60-year-old said, "You pee every morning at 06:00 and have a bowel movement every morning at 06:30. So what's so bad about being 80?" "I don't wake up until 07:00.
