  1. It always amazes me how drastic the change in temps can be just an hour away (over the grapevine).... maybe I should bundle up for a bit.
  2. Guess I can't complain about our dreary weather... foggy, 40s-50s. But that cold dampness goes to the bone with me;( Managed to take it out for a spin to the gas station last week. Good thing is that January is really about our only "bad" month (unless you count July & August when it's in the 100s but that's what early mornings are for).

    Nice footwork

A little nostalgia (1985)... and I heard they recently shut one down due to crowds YouTube - Walter Röhrl onboard montage ~1985
  4. Nice Pics! Just don't catch the grass on fire;)
  5. Fantastic! Your homefree. Hopefully we'll meet up this year.
  6. Welcome, It's always a fun time trying to decide what to buy (or build). There's a good contingent of 7 owners in your neck of the woods and they're sure to chime in soon. Good luck!
  7. V-Rob, Not to give you a more sleepness night but.... being paid puts you into the DMV system, you don't have to wait while the clerk enters all your info into the computer, reviews and staples all your paperwork, takes your check (tax & fees) etc.... all this before the clerk passes your info to the those making the call to Sacramento on your behalf. It just improves your odds as all the SB100s will be gone in a couple hours and you'll be biting your lip as the minutes it takes to load you in the system preciously slip by.... Being one of the first in line should help a lot though as some DMVs got SB100s for everyone that was there early last year. Good luck mate.

10 most memorable cars of the decade I can go along with this article... they represent the OOs http://www.myride.com/content/shared/articles/templates/index.cfm/article_id_int/6636/id/31599
  12. I agree with you Slomove.... seems we've lost the art of compromise. It appears many are afraid it looks like they don't have conviction, morals, are weak, etc... (or it will be used by their party's base against them in the primaries). Plus, we have this "team" mentality that says your either with us or against us; and it has to be on all issues. It seems there's not that many moderates anymore... and they now get pummelled from both sides. I've never seen it so bad, kind of started in California with those in the minority holding hostage the State budget. Now those in DC are playing the same game. Heaven forbid they screw up as bad as our State politicians. Wish I had a solution, but don't see one:(
  13. very nice! nothing wrong with silver and black

    I don't know about that
  16. I have to agree for no other reason than the places that will be impacted most will not affect the majority of us. Heck, China & Russia might end up with better weather...

    One More

It is near the Christmas break of the school year.? The students have turned in all their work and there is really nothing more to do.? All the children are restless and the teacher decides to have an early dismissal. So the teacher says, "Whoever answers the questions I ask, first and correctly can leave early today." Little Johnny says to himself "Good, I want to get outta here.? I'm smart and will answer the question." The teacher ask, "Who said 'Four Score and Seven Years Ago'?" Before Johnny can open his mouth, Susie says, "Abraham Lincoln." "That's right Susie, you can go home." Johnny is mad that Susie answered the question first. Then the teacher asks, "Who said 'I Have a Dream'?" Before Johnny can open his mouth, Mary says, "Martin Luther King." "That's right Mary, you can go." Johnny is even madder than before. Then the teacher said, "Who said 'Ask not, what your country can do for you'?" Before Johnny can open his mouth, Nancy says, "John F. Kennedy." "That's right Nancy, you may also leave." Johnny is boiling mad that he has not been able to answer to any of the questions. When the teacher turns her back Johnny says, "I wish these bitches would keep their mouths shut!" The teacher turns around, "NOW WHO SAID THAT?" To which Johnny replied, "TIGER WOODS. CAN I GO NOW?"
  21. To register the car without SB100 you have to identify the car/year that the drivetrain came from for comparison. It has to have no error codes in the stock ECU (all codes, not just smog)... which can be tough when you don't use the stock gas tank, instrument panel, etc.. Your suppossed to use the whole drive train (except muffler), including rear-end and fuel system, including the stock gas tank and charcoal canister for gas fumes... I can't imagine one of these cars passing the bi-annual smog tests without some type of smog referee exemption (or skirting the issue by knowing someone). Which brings me back to my point of having a car that can pass California's smog test and be registered like regular cars (likely with some special CARB Pending parts). I'm sure companies like Westfield and Caterham have looked into it and figured they couldn't recoup the costs for the additional "CARB approved" parts. Too bad, I'm sure there would be a lot more on the road without the SB100 hurdle (and the restrictions of other states like New Jersey).
  22. I thought I saw the back wheels come off the ground a bit on one of those stops going down hill... better him than me;)
  23. Money and racing go hand in hand. In MotoGP, there are riders who bring their own sponsorships with them and get rides over guys that are considered better... nationality of rider can play a part too. I'm sure other motorized sports have the same issue. It would be embarrassing to me if I was out there getting in the way... on the other hand, makes you wonder how good the real guys are if money can get a rich schmo close. Seems I have little money and am a terrible driver.... but just like a guy with a small johnson; doesn't stop me from having a lot of fun with what I got.
  24. Wow, Now if they could make a smog-compliant one for California they'd probably sell a lot (relatively speaking). After looking into it, it's really not that much to get a CARB Pending exemption for headers, cold intakes etc... the hardest part to me is the requirement for the stock gas tank but I think someone could make it with whatever the Mazda smog parts are and get an exemption. I bet people would pay an extra 2 to 5 grand for a 7 you can register/sale without hassle.
  25. OMG! If that's not fake then he has used up all his luck in 30 seconds
