What a fantastic day! Despite looking ominous at times, the weather was perfect. Unlike every other time I've been at Carlisle, the place felt at home. It was nice to have the tent, and have a reunion of sorts with the seven family - talk to all the friends made in the last couple of years, and meet a few new ones, like Dave and Gary. Al, well, I guess this was one last hurrah with the Orange. I really appreciate you letting me drive the car in the burnout contest... that engine sounds awesome against the rev limiter (just in case MoPho is reading :jester:) HUGE Thanks to Nancy for the fantastic grilling work, and to Ava and Elizabeth for helping. Perhaps with a little more persuasion we can talk Bruce and Nancy down to Snowshoe later this year. Alright, on with the pics... http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/710057496_CIMG2474.JPG http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/769632082_CIMG2475.JPG http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1151721287_CIMG2476.JPG http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1227219243_CIMG2477.JPG http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1489988953_CIMG2478.JPG http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/996412601_CIMG2479.JPG http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/659677340_CIMG2480.JPG http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1039818152_CIMG2481.JPG http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/48145785_CIMG2482.JPG http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1699936574_CIMG2483.JPG http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/344410968_CIMG2484.JPG http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/764021769_CIMG2485.JPG http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1305691448_CIMG2489.JPG http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1217257380_CIMG2490.JPG http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/735578275_CIMG2491.JPG http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1071442784_CIMG2492.JPG http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/39222787_CIMG2493.JPG http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/608751859_CIMG2494.JPG http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1171358111_CIMG2495.JPG http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/871976333_CIMG2496.JPG http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1179358572_CIMG2497.JPG http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1973849107_CIMG2498.JPG http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1588149767_CIMG2501.JPG http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1547640913_CIMG2502.JPG http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1721976555_CIMG2503.JPG http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1984746265_CIMG2504.JPG

Too lazy to post pics right now, but we're having a great day. 16 sevens showed up. Weather is partly cloudy, and you feel like it could rain any minute, but it has held off. More to come late tonight.

heh, those engine mounts don't flex much, but if that's a problem, we do have a solution. The last runner on that side, which is shown in the pic, can be changed to start with a sharper curve, closer to the block to provide more clearance. The curves will look similar to the first runner: http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/822653366_CIMG2465.JPG -

This week has been disappointingly slow. Work has been killer, and Arya keeps getting called away with family duties. Today we managed to get the steering done. It's nice to have a working steering wheel in the car again. It resulted in spontanious imaginary drives in the car. Arya came up with a couple of tricks along the way. Here are some pics: wheel looks off center due to camera angle... but it's nice and centered http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1611969000_CIMG2467.JPG current state of the dash... http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/988994962_CIMG2468.JPG The steering can telescope (bolt is temporary)... http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/216596193_CIMG2469.JPG Closest fit near the headers... http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/464352061_CIMG2473.JPG The whole thing will get powdercoated before final assembly. -

Gas Mileage, Tell us how your 7 does on the MPG's
slngsht replied to tnttim's topic in General Sevens Discussion
The only time I measured mine (back when I had an odometer), I got 26.5 MPG. The trip was a mix of spirited driving through the mountains, and 80MPH cruising on the highway. Same drivetrain combo in my vette gets 31 MPG on the highway, and about 19 MPG mixed driving. -
OMG, that's one giant MoPho This is what happens if you keep adding lightness
-
Alright - I'm gonna show my ignorance here, but only in the interest of helping... How much is a base Deman - assembled? Is there more than - say 20K in upgrades, including drivetrain and all the little extras like HID, etc...? I saw the car at the dragon, and it is, well, impressive looking. I wish I had a chance to drive it.

With Arya's school done (yes, the man graduated from VT :yesnod: ), he is putting some time on the car this week. First project in the firing order is the headers. Starting with a set of LS1 long tube headers, we had to modify them to clear the frame. In the process, we found the tube lengths on the original header were about 1" different, so we set out to fix that problem as well... Here are a couple of pics of Arya's handywork Steel stock tacked to the tubes to maintain their relative positions before they get chopped http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/600679161_CIMG2464.JPG Shape of the new bends required to clear the chassis... note the back section is longer. Luckily for us, the original header primaries got shorter as they went from front to back, so we simply corrected that with our longer additions. http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/822653366_CIMG2465.JPG -

Just checking in the first chance I got to see how things are going. Awesome!!! Let's see, what can I say about Kevin... Just the brief chats I've had with him - He strikes me as a big kid we all want to be, but he's actually doing it  Hoping for a super strong finish :blueangel:

interesting... just starting out with simple things, have you made sure the water pump belt has proper tension? is there a procedure for bleeding the air out of the system?
