  1. I'm not in the market for a Seven, but that seems like a very reasonable price for that car.
  2. needs a touch of purple and flourecent pink. Other than that, it's good to go.
  3. How many times have you stumbled upon a seven owner - in person or through word of mouth? Like the guy who happened to show up at the Dragon with his S1  - I never got a chance to say hello and chat with him, but can you imagine his point of view? Just driving along, and here comes a seven, then another, and another... I guess he wins the story contest hands down... the mother of all "guess how many sevens I saw on my blat today" stories. Today I walked into the local speed shop to pickup a fitting for my gas tank. I'm on a first name basis with the owner (is this a bad sign?). Mike's eyes lit up when he saw me. He said he had a customer walk into his shop who was out of town and a seven owner. He passed along the info, and the owner and I have already exchanged emails. A few months ago my neighbor, who is a physical therapist told me one of his patients is building a locost. I have not been able to contact him. I got in touch with Jeff Duncan after one of the guys who worked for me said a fellow STi owner was ranting and raving about an unusual car at a local autox. First time I saw Michael Dougherty was when he had pulled over the side of the highway on his way to an autox. I had just written a check for Frankn7, so I pulled over and said hello right there. Share your stories.
  4. Loren is setting it up
  5. Last I heard Justin took FTD
  6. Well, it was posted on May 15th, so 6 days ago. We're not that bad
  7. damn man, I have a problem letting go of cars. I'd dismember 'em before I let them go. Oh wait... :leaving:
  8. Soareyes' eyes aren't soar anymore :hurray:
  9. I found out about the se7ens.net list about a month after I started the forum. D'oh.
  10. So, are we going to have some road race / autox / drag events planned? There is 3 years of bragging by the various groups (BEC, turbo, V8, xflow, well, maybe not xflow ) guys that needs to be put to test. Who knows, maybe I'll have to learn French after the event.

That's Orange! Kitty is thinking "don't sell it! DONT sell it!! DON'T SELL IT!!!!!!"
  12. I guess I should step up and do an article about the dangers of modding your seven too much
  13. I guess I better step up and finish my car :willy: I'm IN!!!!
  14. my experience was the same... not a spark problem... the unit simply would not pick up the RPM around cranking speeds sometime. I built a megasquirt to use with the Rover engine I had in my seven at the time, but once I pulled the trigger to go with the LS1, it didn't make sense to do that anymore. Fun little project.
  15. :willy:
  16. I don't know. I've also run into plenty of people who swear by them, so there must be something to that. I've just been burned by their Alex days... You know the saying... Fool me once, shame on me... Fortunately I don't have to use my tongue to make the beast go fast :jester: I can just add cubes
  17. I was wondering WHO would start such a thread. All I know is dating back to the late 80's, I've heard nightmare stories about Electromotive (besides my own first hand experience with picking up engine speed at cranking speeds - even with Electomotive's own billet aluminum "distributor" setup - we tried the crank sensor first with no luck - took it to Chantilley and they installed their own dist pickup, and still didn't work half the time while we were still there). Didn't Vector use Electromotive for their control system and have similar problems. Overcoming first impressions is a biotch I can definitely see the need for Haltech/Motec/Electromotive, etc... IMO, it is difficult for them to beat a stock unit out of a GM / Ford in reliability and cost, and with the aftermarket support out there, you can pretty much do anything with them, including serious boost (2 bar and 3 bar setups with custom OS)
  18. Yup, I think we are saying the same thing. He also said he had no idea what the engine was out of.
  19. As I understood Harold's problem, the alternator drained the battery when the car was shut off. The first place to check is for voltage in the Ign switch lead (pin IG in Bruce's link).
  20. Don't worry - Al wouldn't own a less than perfect seven  wait - that didn't come out right - he is not selling this because it's not perfect  Seriously - you're getting a fantastic car. I just can't believe he's letting it go.
  21. Sweet!
  22. We were covering the dents in the bodywork
