  1. I'm sure the dad here will overlook the 15 year age difference if she's dating a fellow seven owner
  2. one hand driving... i was going to be on an empty highway for an hour. Although, I could easily make a cup holder. All I need is the right size hole saw http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/lol.gifslngsht2006-12-31 10:32:52
  3. while browsing corver-carvers.com, I ran across >this. It's a vid of a locost. But what caught my attention is that Al and I stopped at this track and talked to the Porsche club about running here at 7/7/07. We ultimately decided against it, so this is NOT where we will be running.

  5. Based on first hand experience, I can tell you that if you hit a pothole, and the foam from your starbucks latte flies out of the cup, the turbulance in the cabin will actually carry the foam forward and land it on the inside of your windshield http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/smile5.gif
  6. http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/coolgleamA.gif On the commute home one day about a couple of months ago, I was sitting at a light waiting for a left turn. Some guy in a minivan leaned out the window and yelled "Sevens Rule" with a http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/biggrin5.gif on his face, left arm in the air with a http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/thumbsup.gif
  7. I want something with minimal interference for normal use. There some interesting designs here. My car will rarely see the track, but the current short 2 point bar I have is inadequate even for road use. If I have a regular 4 point in place, with the rest of the cage as bolt-on, I think that'd be a good compromise. I want to run the car at the drag strip at least a couple of times to see what she can do - I'll be kicked out after the first real run http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/lol.gif Alot of good ideas here. Thanks.

  9. I find my rotus to be very predictable when I overpower the rear.
  10. I have a 27 year old replica. I don't have doors or a top for mine. As long as it's in the high 50s or warmer, I drive her. I put about 6 or 7 thousand miles on the car last year. some travelling, but also commuting about once a week to work on the DC beltway. I need some type of ear protection with mine. My springs are pretty stiff now, but before I changed them, the ride was actually pretty comfy. In my opinion, it can't be your main car, although I know of at least a couple of seveners who used theirs as their main transportation. It's a great toy to keep in the garage, and drive on the street whenever it's nice out.
  11. 40 is way too high. you'll get much more grip at lower pressures. I'd say play with it a little, starting at 25, and see how you like it. With a car like yours, it'll probably end up being lower than 25. The best way is to take her to autox or skid pad with a tire temp gauge http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/smile5.gif
  12. show me some pics. I have to replace my 2 point useless roll bar with a real one. I'll at least do the 4 point with diagonal to meet SCCA specs. I'd like to know what more could be done without making the car very difficult to get in and out of. Perhaps removable pieces from the roll hoop forward.
  13. I didn't build mine, and I have a 5.7L V8, so not a typical Seven. I have bare aluminum right now, and if I get caught in heavy traffic in a 90+ degree day, it'll melt my right foot. My plan is to put heat insulation plus carpet at some point, but it's not all that important to me.

  20. BusaLoco and LocostV8 may not see eye to eye on this issue http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/biggrinjester.gif
  21. Would you trade your seven for an Ultima GTR? Assume there is no financial gain (you can't sell the Ultima and buy 2 sevens, etc...).
  22. How practical are these for normal day to day street use though? To make 300 n/a you'd have to have a peripheral port ( or monster port - not a long living engine). those things need a couple thousand RPMs just to idle. Again, it depends on what you're after... They make great race engines because you live in the power band all the time. IMO on the street there are better options. And going the turbo route adds dreaded weight.
  23. I stand corrected... doing a little searching online, the 13B comes to about 240, Rover V8 is at 320, LS1 is at 430, so there is a significant difference. Although, that's a normally aspirated 13B... If turbo, I'm guessing that adds another 50 lbs or so in turbo, intercooler and plumbing.slngsht2006-12-22 22:02:05
  24. The more the merrier
  25. Rotary engines are compact, and have a low center of gravity, but they're not particularly light. I think a LS1 aluminum V8 is not much heavier than a rotary 13b.
