  1. awesome
  2. Cool. even if I get half the mileage, 5 gallons should be enough for a 25 minute session. I was a little worried about that.
  3. damn. what a fantastic car. really enjoyed that. I love the sound of the engine, as well as the way the door / dash wrap around the driver. sweet car.
  4. can anyone tell me the ballpark for gallons per hour of track time? or MPG at the track and I can take it from there? Is it more like 10 MPG or 5 MPG?
  5. What's your distinction between hotrod vs sportscar?
  6. for the front you have to factor in the motion ratio as there is alot of variability depending on suspension geometry. for most solid axle sevens the rear springs are pretty much vertical, so it's easier to compare. I'm running 200 lb/in springs in the back of my car, and it weighs way more than a bike engined car will. my car weighs 1750 lbs.
  7. My friend has a convertible one... white on blue, white interior. yes, there is no comparison to sevens or modern cars, but they definitely have their own charm.
  8. see my answer above.
  9. This was done intentionally to redirect people who had saved links to the old forum to come here, since the links are different.
  10. I'm surprised that after so many years of flying out of CA, they wouldn't have found a way to find a slightly longer runway for the takeoffs.

just dusted a few plates of Sushi and a few beers in Tampa. Forum is pretty quiet. What are you guys up to?
  14. I was just there. more fun when u can accelerate fast enough to get a tingle in your stomach.
  15. my advice is go with smallest dia rims you can fit over your uprights and brakes, and stickiest compounds. r888 or similar, or with the turbo you'll be slidng all over the place

Dean, your car is poetry in motion. very cool.
  17. I definitely had a blast. hanging out with the Cobra guys was fun too. nice bunch.
  18. seems like a lot of pumping losses and friction losses to overcome, but I'm sure they've looked at that.
  19. I will definitely be there and will try to run in the same heat as you guys. I went off course on 2 of my runs. first one was on the short leg, where the tire marks went through the wrong gate. I followed right along with them. I'm sure there was another 5 or 6 seconds in the car had I bothered with tire pressures (banging head). Overall the car felt OK, although it was totally on marbles, sliding around on all 4 wheels. Balance was good. Competition is pretty stiff out there. i'd say 80% of the cars were running slicks (didn't actually count, but sure seemed that way). Some beautiful machines there too. I had a great time and wish I could stay longer for the time in the hanger. Next time.

  21. there is not even a brown stain on the floorboard
  22. Agreed! whenever there has been an opportunity to collect money, folks have been more than generous. Nobody is in it to make anything on this, and I think it's always good to keep the club's cash box modest. Like my view of government, and unlike what i've done to my car, the less the better
  23. If you decide to use it, I have some Summit Racing foam that's still new in its plastic wrap. I'll sell it half price if you're interested as I am using a different tank design and don't plan on using it anymore.
  24. here is more specifics about the pickups I'm talking about http://www.autoperformanceengineering.com/html/pickups.html
