  1. I know a lot of the UK guys wear Wiley's (as suggested by Brad). I have a rather old fashioned pair of aviator goggles - probably not your look, Al...
  2. Not too shabby here in central Virginia - 60 degrees, blue skies and quiet roads. Just back from a very nice 1 hour run to pick up stuff for dinner
  3. Count me in. If it could be a little south of DC so much the better

    Got wood?

700bhp from its twin supercharged, 4.6litre V8 engine Er... doesn't wood burn...
  7. I'd take the R400 Superlight and keep the $175,000 for 'other projects'...
  8. I use a K&N HP-1002 filter on my Zetec - but it's an older engine (98 I think). Steve.
  9. Just seen this being discussed on blatchat. fyi http://marktg.toyotires.com/file/TireStorage.pdf
  10. Dermot, I have the same tires, and quite like them (but I do mostly street driving). I run them at 18psi - what pressure are you using? Steve.
  11. The throttle cable is a standard Ford part - I have the part no at home, could get it for you Thursday. I bought a spare for the 7/7/7 trip - around $15 at the main dealer.
  12. Excellent. And on an icy track
  13. When I worked in London, I would take the seven into the office occasionally, and do exactly what you see in the video - not like I was cheating, the company paid for parking anyway. Fun though, to see other folk's reaction.
  14. Here from a 'blatchat' discussion on the same topic... It's only an autotest - lowered, stiff suspension, and probably a long, vertical lever to the hydraulic handbrake. Maybe a guide along the gearlever to prevent accidental selection of 3rd, maybe even second, with reverse detent removed maybe to make selection quicker. Find your local motor club - club level autotesters will amaze you with their skill in all sorts of cars. And novices will make you laugh out loud. Until YOU try it - remembering where to go - you then realise why all the good ones run around the tests before hand - including backwards while looking over their shoulder - get it in the mind for the run - just looks bizarre!
  15. Another pic of Als' softbits for sevens roof - works even if it does actually rain cats and .... http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1873090369_IMG_0157.JPG
  16. Don't worry, the boys are wearing shorts. I think it was taken at Le Mans - late 80's. Probably the cheapest solution discussed so far
  17. It's gonna take more than you Bob
  18. I get three to four a week. I love the drain hair...
  19. Or guitars... The National health system in the UK offers free health care to all. It's pretty good for emergencies, and used to be good for childbirth, though I hear that is slipping. The real weakness in the system is on-going care or operations for non emergency health issues. As a result, a lot of folks go private - if they can afford it - for operations, as the alternative is a long wait - up to two years in some cases. Several of the private health companies now offer 'opt in' schemes for situations such as this. Most large companies offers workers the option of private health care (at a price), or offer it as a perk. BUPA is the biggest provider - and they are a non-profit, which is what the HMO's should be here IMHO. The other trend in the UK - as already pointed out - is folks going abroad (Eastern Europe in particular) for operations and, increasingly, dental care! Having looked at various health care systems around the world, no system will ever satisfy everyone, you just have to find the one that works for the majority. The UK national health system is funded by the taxpayer, which is one of the reasons why gas is now close to $9 a gallon :ack:
  20. Tom, that really is quite beautiful. And it reminds me that my daughter has a rather good flute she hasn't played in years - eBay beckons... Steve.
  21. Very sweet Ed. Here's a not very good pic of the first one (now referred to as 'pre-factory' on eBay). Grrr. http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/464921059_old PRS 2.jpg
  22. Excellent. Great video, Great racing.
  23. Skip, It's a Paul Reed Smith McCarty Hollowbody II (long name). PRS, as they are known, build their guitars near Annapolois, and are know for their quality and playability. I used to have a really early model, but sold it years ago to make some mortgage payments  - that model is now highly collectable :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: Box:
  24. I'm a bit late getting to this... but there is another solution (and, no, that is not me...) http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1066622194_seven in the wet114.jpg :jester:
  25. You obviously haven't heard me play, Mazda :ack:
