  1. Another Steve T... this could get confusing For more pix, try the obvious - google series IV Lotus Seven. Might also find some more from our weekend on the Zee photo and Killboy sites (enter the 07/07/07 dates). When I have a mo - next week probably - I can go thro some of my old UK 'Low Flying' mags, see if I can find some more. Steve T
  2. I had not seen a series 4 'in the flesh' until 7/7/7 and while agreeing with the 70's comment, I thought they looked fantastic. Any excuse to revisit that weekend, so here's a few pix... http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/2110267384_S4 from NYC.JPG http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1946464697_series 4 interior.JPG http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/780249799_2 4 1 4.JPG
  3. Looks like it will not work for me, Bruce. Found an old photo of my last Cosworth engine - and a 'green' Cosworth at that! http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1260134825_cosworth green090.jpg

    UCLA Study

I'm getting through a lot of duct tape...
  5. Bruce: Yup, I have that at the front, so this will probably not work on mine...
  6. Count me in (mine is a ZX2 I think). Good job Bruce.
  7. I think I'm in love with that Cosworth motor. Do not tell the wife :willy:
  8. Interesting... for around 300K it should be. Shame about the ending.

    Worn out

Thinking about you, man. And Cameron. Steve.
  10. You could also check out the Yahoo Zetec forum - you might get more advice than you ever wanted, as I suspect you're not the first (or last) to pose this question.. http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/zetec/ And let us know what you decide to do.
  11. Not like me to disagree with Al, but... This kind of heritage ad has been done dozens of times before - sometimes well (as in both these examples), sometimes not so well. I have seen great examples by Porsche and Mercedes in Europe for example. For me they work when 1. you have a demonstrable and relevant heritage and, 2. (as with all good ads) you find a creative way to get that across to you target. Both these ads work in my view, but in slightly different ways - Mitsu is almost certainly aimed younger so can stand more quick cutting and less 'copy', BMW uses a grown up voice to offset the 'unusual' depiction of its cars. We should be glad to have these - there are still way too many car ads with loving shots of cars driving in slow motion through a series of bends at sunset (often the same bends, BTW). Boring
  12. That would be Guy Fawkes  It used to be everyone had their own fireworks in the yard, now it's mostly organized displays in parks and so on. Probably not as impressive as some of the big displays you see here on July 4th, but usually a great atmosphere. Best enjoyed with a pint and a baked potato. And good friends. I think you will be quite near Melton Mowbray (famous pork pies) and Stilton (yes, that cheese). Enjoy!
  13. Queensland... It's all coming back now - the realtor was up on the Gold Coast, based in Brisbane I think. Well spotted Kieth.
  14. I cut the pic out of a magazine years ago. As I recall, the car was modified by a realtor who specialized in beach front properties - cool idea or completely stupid - I never can quite decide. I found the magazine in Australia, but the car might be in Hawaii... I suspect RR were not amused.
  15. If you're going to go off road, you might as well go in style... http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/2032178937_off road rolls089.jpg
  16. You might, just might, have to use a 4 cylinder motor. Finally
  17. Man this is a tough post. What's a battery
  18. If this has been posted already, my apologies...
  19. The answer seems to be you 'might' fit. I'm 6'1" with 34" inseam, and size 12 feet, and can get comfortable enough for long drives (have to do that foot under the clutch pedal thing). I did replace the original steering wheel with a smaller Momo wheel (a round one, call me old school), and that make getting in and out a bit easier, but at 210 lbs I'm a little chunkier than some Best advice - already given - is try one on for size (more than one if you can find them). Steve.
  20. Mine finally arrived last night :hurray: For those who don't subscribe, the article opens with "Mazda Ebrahimi is ruggedly handsome, unfailingly affable, remarkably generous, extraordinarily clever, and certifiably insane" Mazda 'claims' all he did was give the journo a ride in his car. Yeah right, I had to sleep with the photographer to get my car featured on page 114 Excellent article IMHO, well balanced and a good summary of the state of sevening this side of the pond.
  21. Way Jeff I used to have a very early Paul Reed Smith and man, if I didn't go sell it (to make a mortgage payment :banghead: ). Probably worth a bit now. Hey ho.
  22. Box, if you find a deal on the smaller R888's (I'm on 14" wheels), please let me know. A lot of the UK folks have switched to these and seem pretty happy, plus it's a 'relatively' cheap tire over there...
  23. Yes, it's an auto test - used to be quite popular in the UK, set up in small public car parks. Cars never get up to the speeds you see in Autox here, so public can get quite close. Fun to watch, and more a demonstration of control and coordination than power.
  24. Martin - there was a second buck (8 pointer) standing just of of shot. Tried to get a photo of both but they saw me and ran.
  25. We're talking about road in Germany here of course... 80(mph) is comfortable with screen and side screens, over that and you have to hang on to your hat. 100 plus is OK for short spurts, but you need a hat that secures under your chin (or a helmet) and some kind of ear protection probably, and it helps if you tuck the belt straps back through the shoulder belts.
