  1. with a bit of luck, you're garage looks like this now :hurray: http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1020834718_caterham030.jpg Well, it's probably not yellow, but you get the point. Enjoy!
  2. Nice. http://www.ipass.net/ginkgo/N9612home.html
  3. Yes, for $39,900.
  4. If it had two zeros at the end, it would be in my garage already
  5. Car guy I know locally (central Virginia) is selling his 2006 Kawasaki ZX-12R (1273cc) powered Phoenix. Price is $39,900, and includes a lot of extras. If anyone is interested send me a private mail and I'll forward the full (and extensive) details. I have no financial interest in this sale. 6. His apology seems to have won over the Blatchat boys... good move by the look of it.
  7. I'll take them. Don't need them powdercoated. Steve.
  8. :iagree: steve
  9. It's a 1964 250 GTO. It's also a replica. (Pete owned an original 250 SWB for 35 years - very similar to the one 2nd from the right.) BUT, and it's a big but, it's a 100% accurate replica with FIA papers and all, one of only three. Here are the details; The GTO has a 250 GT chassis number but the bit of the chassis with the number stamped on it and the engine block are the only parts of the "doner" car that were actually used. The head, pistons, crank, dry sump etc are all pure GTO...approx 300 bhp at flywheel. Gearbox, back axle suspension and everything else is all either original parts or specially made. And the body was made by Pete Roeloffs' panel beater Apparently, it's very loud Steve.
  10. So last Saturday, I'm just back from my breakfast blat (30 degrees - see other post), and my old mate calls from the UK - he's just back from a drive with a few mates. See photo. I would have gone just for the ride. My mate said the Aston's were very nice but a bit 'soft'. The 911 is in historic rally spec and is 'quite quick' according to Pete. His car is second from the left BTW. http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/469938142_PeteBlat2.jpg
  11. Was that the re-run of the Cannonball? - there was a piece in Wired magazine (November I think) which was a great read.
  12. Glad this thread happened when it did. I just ordered a Garmin Nuvi 350 for 'family use' Seems to get great all round ratings.

  14. Sorry guys - didn't mean to hijack this thread, just couldn't resist the contrast between east and west coast. Have a great blat
  15. Just back from my Saturday morning breakfast blat here in Va. 30 degrees at 8.30am... http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/772575979_IMG_0628.JPG I was the only guy at the breakfast stop not in camo... http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/239568414_IMG_0632.JPG

Thanks, Box. I'll probably stick with the Azenis - maybe some new boots in the spring. Steve.
  18. The quality is crap, but the driving is something else... http://ie.youtube.com/watch?v=w6Thomd4BQg
  19. Best to everyone. I'll be celebrating (even though we did lose ) with a Turducken - which appears to be a porno version of the traditional bird Enjoy.

I remember seeing a R500 running against a bunch of Academy cars (that's 230 hp versus 115, bigger brakes, better suspension etc, etc.) and the result was similar to this. I find it hard to believe this is just better driving - he appears to have way more power, stronger brakes etc. Fun to watch though

Thanks Box. Have you used them - pro's, con's etc? Steve.
  22. This from my friend in the UK (and 250 Ferrari owner!) It's very interesting because the legend would have you believe that the film was shot from the 275 GTB driven by a French F1 driver...someone like Rene Arnoux...and that there was nothing fake about it. Personally, though, I always had a few doubts about the sound track because it seems a bit faster than the picture. It's a long time since I did this, but I seem to remember that if you time the car down the Champs Elysee from the Arc de Triomphe to the Place Concorde which is about 1200 metres its average speed is about 70mph. But the Ferrari sound track is flat out in fifth...150mph! There's quite a bit of tyre squeal too which I don't think there would have been. Like most people I had no idea that the thing was filmed from a Merc and later dubbed with 'Rari.
  23. Gert, Yours looks like something Frank Gerhy would build (and get paid a fortune for!)
  24. Kitcat, Buzz won't be able to pronounce Caterham properly if he's from Leeds.
  25. I'm just back from a 2 hour 'blat' up to the Blue Ridge and back - did the same yesterday, different route. This is perfect weather for the 7 - 60 degrees, blue skies and quiet roads for the most part. Met and chatted with hot rodders, lots of bikers, kids and pensioners. Car was photographed a couple of times. Even did the grocery shopping on the way back This is what sevening is about for me. Sure it's great to meet up with a few of the other guys (I would have loved to do those roads out to Snowshoe again... Mazda), but to get in, mix in a bit of spirited stuff with some cruising and chatting is worth the price of admission. As I've said in the past, happiness is not around the corner, happiness is the corner. Go for it.
