  1. Looks like a fun track, great video. Watch the line of evenly spaced trees, it looks like each one takes a turn at bowing down as the car goes by. Happens at about 6.25 and 8.30. Skip
  2. Big balls indeed. IIRC, the Opel rocket cars killed 2 or 3 of their drivers before the project was scrapped. Skip
  3. My SV left the factory 12/03 (title says it is an '04), spent a few years with the dealer who assembled it to a rolling chassis. I bought it 11/05 and got it on the road 7/07. Skip
  4. What happened to the co-driver? Travis walks away and no one else gets out of the car. What was Travis carrying when he walked away from the car? Glad you got away from it OK. Skip
  5. Something else to consider, will your transmission survive a flat tow? Some will, some will not as the gears don't turn and the bearings on the output shaft won't get oiled. Removing the drive shaft will solve that problem but if it is anything like my Caterham, you have to drop the diff to get it out of the car. A tow dolly would work better than flat towing and for some transmissions the elevation of the front of the car is sufficient to get trans lube to the bearings relieving you of the necessity of removing the drive shaft. Skip
  6. If you do decide to drive across, you have a place to stay near Denver and I can show you roads across the Rockies that will really put that new car to its intended purpose. The invite to stopover here is open to anyone on this forum who happens to be driving across the country. Skip
  7. I wouldn't trade my Se7en for a 2-11. I got a ride in one on the track at LOG27 and wasn't that impressed with it. Granted, I didn't get to drive it, only Emmo and the factory guy did that. Another reason I wouldn't trade is that the 2-11 isn't legal for the street in the USA. I was on the track with the 2-11 most of the afternoon, we were both giving rides, often one following the other and I had the impression my car was faster than the 2-11 even with the factory test driver in the 2-11. Two people who got rides in the 2-11 told me later that the 2-11 couldn't keep up with my car. Skip
  8. I don't understand the language either but judging from his voice, the Se7en excited him more than the 2-11. Skip :7fume:
  9. MoPho, Great images! Some of them really set me back in my chair. Welcome aboard. Skip
  10. The nose is off my Caterham SV for awhile, I'd be happy to take some measurements for you if you think your car is built to the wide body standard. Skip

    Mondo's S2K

Mondo, What a beauty! Lots of miles of smiles coming your way. Congrats. Skip :7fume:
  12. That's quite a yarn, Mazda.
  13. Sal, Where did you buy your set of Superlites? Skip
  14. Hi John, That looks like a Spal fan and plastic finger mount. I have a similar setup on my Caterham radiator. I made four small brackets out of 1/2" angle aluminum that run from the end of the plastic finger to the mounts on the radiator. The fan is mounted very solid to the radiator. Spal has a selection of those plastic fingers, you may be able to get longer ones that will reach past the end of the core or to that radiator mounting bolt shown on the side of the picture. The slots on the fan end of the fingers allow for fore and aft movement to bring the fan up close to the core. Skip
  15. Did you opt for the Hydramist water injection as well? I am in the process of rewiring my car for a Hydra and Hydramist transplant. Skip
  16. Park it witht the Ariel Atoms, they'l never notice the difference.
  17. I get that one quite often. I reply, "no, its a Caterham 7 and it doesn't suffer from termites either", which usually gets me a blank look. :7fume: Skip
  18. There is supposed to be a 4" difference in width and a 3" difference in length. This picture makes the difference in length look much larger than 3". Skip
  19. I had to wait until the SV came out to own a Se7en. Besides being of the ah, widebody type myself, I have wide feet and cannot get my right foot past the brake pedal to operate the throttle on the standard versions. I have no regrets with my SV. As xflow7 states above, sit in and drive both and see which is best for you. They are both great looking cars but I do prefer the look of the SV's nose with the wider mouth. Skip
  20.:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl: A friend of mine actually talked to the seller. He already had sold it. Skip
  21. Either that or he sold it. I had a call into him to get more details but he hasn't returned it. Skip
  22. Just spotted this on the Denver Craigslist: Click I could take a look at it if an out of town buyer is interested. Skip
  23. Zetec 4 into 1 header for an SV Caterham. New Catalytic converter/silencer. New Chrome headlights/parking lights and brackets. 2k miles. Standard SV roll bar, black. 2k miles, untested, no roll overs. Prices are 50% of new OBO. Skip
  24. Sweet indeed. It looks brand new. Skip
  25. Alaskossie doesn't claim that this is the "best Seven photo ever," but it is certainly one of his most memorable. He took it outside Kremmling, Colorado, on the Brits' "How the West was Driven 2005" tour: http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1536311643_Image1.jpg Posted by scannon for Alaskossie.
