  1. British roller coaster tears arms and legs off crash dummies, gives test pilots "gut wrenching" rides. http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/sideshow/winged-roller-coaster-swarm-rips-arms-off-crash-183513325.html
  2. I imagine most everyone has heard about the new Google tracking and reporting policy that went into effect today. On the local news today there was a story on it and at the end they showed a company Abine (http://www.abine.com) that supplies free software to block this tracking and another system to provide anonymous searching. Another download removes your information (name, address, etc,) wherever it can be found on the web. This one costs $99 per year and reports back everywhere it found and removed the info. I downloaded the two free parts and as of right now they have blocked 17 attempts to track me in the 15 or so minutes since I downloaded them. Anyone familiar with this service?
  3. Does anyone happen to be checked into the Borg Motel in Pacific Grove this evening getting their advance reservations for the Classics week? If so can you get me some advance reservations? Call me at 303-661-9914. I checked with the motel and it is already half filled as they allow people checked in today first shot at the Classics week.
  4. I think the lawyers on board would be more offended than an engineer. Its all in fun so I hope no one was offended.
  5. An engineer dies and reports to the Pearly Gates. Saint Peter checks his dossier and, not seeing his name there, accidentally sends him to Hell. It doesn't take long before the engineer becomes rather dissatisfied with the level of comfort in Hell. He soon begins to design and build improvements. Shortly thereafter, Hell has air conditioning, flush toilets and escalators. Needless to say, the engineer is a pretty popular guy. One day, God calls Satan and says with a sneer: "So, how are things in Hell?" Satan replies: "Hey, things are going great. We've got air conditioning, flush toilets, and escalators. And there's no telling what this engineer is going to come up with next." "What!" God exclaims: "You've got an engineer? That's a mistake - he should never have been sent to Hell. Send him to me." "Not a chance," Satan replies: "I like having an engineer on the staff, and I'm keeping him!" God insists: "Send him back or I'll sue." Satan laughs uproariously and answers: "Yeah, right. And where are you going to get a lawyer?"
  6. If you ask nicely I just might let you drive it.
  7. I will trailer it, I can't get that far without my big liquid oxygen tanks. At the most I can carry 14 hours of O2 in the Caterham. The truck is far more comfortable for long distance traveling. The spectre of $5 gas scares me a bit since the truck gets 11 mpg when towing the trailer.
  8. RNR, What comes with these tickets and passes? What do they typically cost? There are a few of my friends and myself starting the planning for this trip.
  9. Are you interested in a factory silencer for a Zetec? I have a brand new one that came with my Caterham but couldn't use it since I went with a different engine. It has the combination silencer and catalytic converter in one piece. I also have the Zetec header for sale as well. It only works with an SV body.
  10. This one is even better than the tug o war. Warning, lots of F words in the video.
  11. He is a politician and like all of them, he will tell you what he thinks you want to hear if it will help get him re-elected or further his agenda. The truth is not an issue with these people.
  12. Well, almost, I still have to find a new pedestal mount rear view mirror that I like. I've been working on this off and on for over two years. I had to have a 4" piece sectioned into the cowl strap since they don't make one to fit an SV Fat Bastard.
  13. I believe it is, the contact email address is in the first post.
  14. Truck Tug O War - YouTube
  15. Found it. http://www.caranddriver.com/features/car-commercialism-the-making-of-ok-gos-needing-getting-music-video
  16. Somehow I knew you were going to ask that and I have been racking my feeble memory cells and cannot come up with the source.
  17. Its real, I read an article about how they went about making it last week. Cost was around $500K. This is the first time I've seen the video. Great stuff.
  18. This accessory for the hot rod senior scooter just came in via email. Just what you need for the overnight trips.
  19. The latest style for taking that cruise on an Italian cruise ship.
  20. Tom, The calendar arrived today. Another great one, it brought back lots of memories. That was one of the best road trips I've been on. Thank you.
  21. Randy, Your Decoliner takes my breath away. I think any possible questions about your workmanship have been answered. There is a thread on here somewhere about the Decoliner.
  22. No problem, I live with it, its better than the alternative. I live at 5,300'. It takes more O2 than at lower altitudes and when I go up in the mountains I turn up the flow a bit more to compensate. When I travel with the Miata I have the big tank mounted on the tongue of the tire trailer and if it is top down weather I will rig up a line from the tank to the roll bar then on to me. Gets some really strange looks on the highway. I've had many comments about hooking up a line to the intake manifold for some extra go but I'm happy with what the car has now. In the future however...
  23. Well, I had only got as far as the Hyabusa engine, hadn't gotten as far as adding a turbo to it. You would need some serious wheelie bars with that combo.
  24. and we're all in assisted care homes, we can still have some fun.
