  1. Dear Santa. I have been a VERY VERY good boy this year....
  2. Very Cool thanks Bruce.. Oh heck...we should make this an event like watching the halftime of the superbowl!
  3. Well #1 on our list here is also pulling the lump out and finding the seal leak. replacing the slipping clutch with perhaps something better while i am at it. Mary has me started on X-mas projects however..and that stopped the process. So far i have the bowling pin end table about 90% finished for my father-in-law. and now onto the 5' lighthouse. for my brother-in-laws front yard. hey..i am schmoozing for that aluminum flywheel, what can i say?
  4. Same here..the roads have been salted and thats that.. just as well, the clutch project is underway.
  5. very cool... gives me a few ideas!
  6. We ended up doing 2 things.. First we did a header wrap. which we had always done with the race cars as well.. prevents burnt fingers when working over a hot engine as well. But you have to replace the wrap every couple seasons. Then we got an aluminum, fibre sandwich material as you described with sticky back for the outside of the footwell. seems to work fairly well..
  7. uh.... wow..
  8. Oh, i am pretty sure it's an oil leak problem. i suspect either the front seal on the tranny, or rear on the engine. As a sidenote, when i got the car the rear tranny seal was garbage and i fixed it straight away, so thats why i suspect the front tranny seal may be the culprit. The clutch itself should be pretty new..i would hope since i have under 7k non compitition miles on the car. We Plan on tearing it apart next couple weeks.
  9. I made a set for myself as well, using the originals for a pattern. The originals had a smoke plex which looked cool, but was terrible seeing thru the rear view mirrors. i simply cut and heat-bent some plex from lowes. While thinner gauge plex than the original, they have held up to 110 mph so far...not a problem.
  10. very very cool...
  11. Here Here! yeah, i still have the programs from the old goodrich challenge days when pinto's were racing the old mazda rx2's and bmw's, datsun 510's and gremlins...etc... Sadly..because of massive budget cuts...(at home)...looks like i am going to have to deal with having the existing x-flow of ours for a while yet... sigh. sooooo.... sometime this month we are yanking out the lump to figure out the clutch slippage problem. and putting it back in. hey..it's still allot of fun!!
  12. hmm..sorta a real basic g-meter?
  13. the humor was spot on... rust spot on that is..:jester:
  14. hat details? actually, our youngest son bought it at a spring british car show this past year, a onion jack on blue,, it sorta ties on the bottom, and the ball on top bounces around like a paddleball...all add to the fun!
  15. We got a call sunday morning.."hey are you guys comming?? " So we quickly put a coat of wax on the 7, found some warm clothes and went on the Austin Heley clubs fall foliage tour. A cold rain in the morning didnt keep us away, it just made for a tail happy 7. we had a few healeys. an MGB and us (and a few pieces of german and japanese iron too) Was a great day, and we ended up at a new place called "the pub" in rocky river cleveland.. Mike R take note: we kept the route directions, we gotta do this one!!http://www.usa7s.net/aspnetforum/upload/1624039911_bobfall.jpghttp://www.usa7s.net/aspnetforum/upload/2046390095_fall3.jpg
  16. nice capture.... you know..they should broadcast the auto-x on that big screen behind you in the first picture...now THAT would be cool!
  17. Looks like you have a solid great car there,,,lots of smiles and miles to you!
  18. Gee,,i wish OURS had the wide track front! very cool picture!!
  19. happy Halloween, and blessed Samhain to everyone! yes the eyeballs light up, and yes thats Oxnard the skeleton doing the driving.. http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/591965818_PA110193.jpg
  20. Boy is THAT a familiar phrase.. everytime i/bob tell mary i would love some carbon fibre bits on the car... she reminds me about the cheapest way to take weight off it!
  21. gee,, we havnt had "my precious" out for over a week,,i am getting withdrawl! need to go do a fall tour soon after this weekend.
  22. uhh,,,nice view of uhh,,the track yeah the track... when do the girls wash and wax the cars?...
  23. We dont carry the spare on ours...instead we put a leather motorcycle bag for a bit more beer..i mean cargo space. we figure the beer inside the bag will act as a hydraulic bumper much like those water barrels on the freeway...right? of the 28 years i have been driving..i have only gotten 3 flat tires.. the fact they were ALL 3 this year... is just boggling. actually all 3 were complete delaminating blowouts. 2 were on the boat trailer, the other on the breadtruck..
  24. as well...most of the fun cars i owned in the past..were really awesome..but not quiet what i was happy with. so now except for the ginetta which is the dream car we will finish someday, (and is somewhat a fully clothed "7").... i think our 7 (or another) is something that will be around for a very very long time!
  25. Well, i think we narowed it down.. The honda and toyota station wagons were a good choice...when newer. sadly the few we looked at were beat silly :_deadhorse: and not worth the price. the subaru wagons are a good price for a good car,,but the gas milage was lower than what we wanted in a daily car at 4$ a gallon. the hyundai and suzuki,,,well....something just wasnt quiet right there.. couldnt find a lexus wagon we could possibly afford. the jaguar wagon...very cool!!..too bad it's a jaguar! We really liked the mazda's..but they all seem about 2-3k more expensive than the fords..probably with good reason..but we cant go beyond our budget. :nonod: So, we are probably going to go with the ford focus wagon, with the zetec. the manual version is hard to find, but they seem to be in better shape for the money. and the gas milage is one of the higest rated. not the pretties girl at the prom...but not unpleasant either. besides..i can get used to the zetec quirks..
