  1. Do you have a Dry Sump with cooler? Was the fail the connection or the hose? Age related?
  2. The best 7 Caterham made, IMHO
  3. For those interested Jack Webb is offering improved strength lower damper bolts. (for trunion-less uprights) https://jackwebbmotorsport.co.uk/Caterham-Uprated-Lower-Damper-Bolts-Imperial-p574565084 Also, Jack can produce improved Ital half shaffs and disc conversion kits. He needs a minimum of 5 orders. Im in if four more want to commit. We could consolidate the shipping.
  4. See if your air filters are burnt. I had popping on my 1600. I was running too lean or had an exhaust leak. Have you ever checked the rocker/valve gaps?
  5. This? Laminova
  6. What do you call a hot day?
  7. A spare tyre may cover up half of a budget fill and over coating. A good metal man can do wonders on aluminum. I was recently informed in a correspondence with arch they no longer deal directly with the public. Its Cat or Redline.
  8. Pegasus or Dave Bean
  9. This is the standard flared wing bolt through the wing support. https://caterhamparts.co.uk/bolts/491-roof-bolt-m6-x-25.html?search_query=wing+bolt&results=303
  10. A well prepared S2. Out of curiosity, can someone say what the extra tank is for? There is already a surge tank and a oil catch can in use. This looks like a washer bottle but there isn't any use for a washer.
  11. Chapman was removing frame materials to save weight and materials costs. They ran like stink with the smaller engines.
  12. At a certain camera angle the bend may be imperceptible. It looks like that angle. In this case, that brake looks like it would be a RHD.
  13. I would use what you have. Probably better to be on rims moving around or sold off than sitting.
  14. Caterham should build this.
  15. Here we go... the old push-lock (PL) debate Im on the fence with this one. I need to decide for my build. PLs make for very clean plumbing. PLs should be fine for street. I don't believe PLs would be allowed on a racetrack. Am I wrong? My take on 7s is they should always be prepared to race.
  16. try the wiper motor bracket
  17. There should be some guides on the downloads section here And buy a Haynes Sierra repair book. Those usually have a T9 transmission section. Not sure which year to choose. start with the case numbers to determine which car. That selector rod front end is a known point of water ingress. I suggest there may be some rust issues there. maybe not.
  18. This probably won't work but pop off the speedo gear cover and remove the plastic drive gear (you probably won't be using it going forward). Try freeing the selector locking pin.
  19. standard Kent engine crank should not exceed 7K RPM. Yes, I would put on a rev limiter.
  20. remembering other posts about glass shops, apparently the 7 glass is a non standard thickness. some glass shops have been able to get it, some not. YMMV Yes, I have plans for my aeros. When I paint the 7 RAF green in Sopwith Camel livery, with a faux Vickers gun on the scuttle. I will use the aeros for that. When im old and batty enough to go through with it.
  21. Who would be interested in a Gorilla glass group buy?
  22. how high? is it right in your face?
  23. Ive been saving all year
  24. Ok, Did Farley have an opinion about the 1700 treatment? I could try the 1300 pistons and 234 cam. which might even out to 1600 with the deeper pockets required. I do wish the forum had dedicated sub fourms for the various engines. All the Xflow stuff could be in one place, if posters will put it there. But reality is the mods end up having to move discussions around too much to keep it organized. We could be self policing.
