  1. I suppose the benefit of the GPS is no calibration needed? point A to point B in X time = MPH. That sender! omg. but compared to setting up other senders, price for convenience.
  2. Hey, the gear is already out. A totally clean housing that never got dirty. I have all the parts for a cable speedo but the electronic/ GPS options are so clean. Very tempting. VDO had a unit that took several different signal inputs like Hall, optical, etc. I am wanting to try and keep that 90's Caterham style on the instruments.
  3. Thanks Des
  4. Its a new part, I neglected so it got rust on it. Anyone have a Ford part number? none on the item. Box is not Ford.
  5. Im inclined to go that route when I settle on a model . I have all the hardware to make a working cable speedo now. Did you use any speedo blanking plugs? Berring kits has a plug kit but won't sell to USA.
  6. yea, I would be all into the buggies and rails. solid pans are getting scarce.
  7. I have another T9 tail in my box of parts. the previous owner probably did a swap.
  8. this is a CRB for a Ford Merkur or 2000, whatever.. Supposed to be the thing for the T-9. It appears the inner sleeve is off center. Yes, there is rust, but otherwise, is this CRB usable?
  9. Pics! I want to see this please.
  10. I was wondering about those Scissor lifts.. the stuff in the middle negates the purpose of it. If it had enough room for engine and axle access, it would be enough
  11. I can't do a 2 post. need a small 2 car garage item
  12. It would be the Elio Motors, Which may not happen at all. then Polaris Slingshot body kit related. ugly. Always thought Id default to TR250/6.
  13. you know the ones, low profile hydraulic, scissor armatures. Can anyone recommend one?
  14. Sirs, Regarding this angle drive: What is the top screw for? What is best lubrication? What tooth count drive gear to use with a 3.6 diff on 23" tyres? Speedo VDO unknown calibration. Are Escort transmission drive gears interchangeable with T-9? Thanks
  15. This is getting more interesting. looking at my tail, it looks like my forward boss is for a switch, yet the rear boss is empty without anything behind it.
  16. Hi. The last time I hit cold I noticed the foot well and transmission tunnel was plenty warm, as normal, but there is no way a heater blower could warm the open air. I would recommend gloves and a helmet or some head wrap and an insulated coat. I also remember the beating the top of my head was taking from the buffeting. I started wearing a welders bandana to keep what's left of my hair in place. This is open cockpit flying, on the road.
  17. Ride quality??? LMAO naw, man. you're in the USA where things called speed bumps exist. Your concern is grounding. I run on 185 / 70 R13 ,20psi with soft suspension. If you live in an area with really nice smooth roads, you can set up more sporty.
  18. I have a few Webber DCOE 151 Qs for yall: I got a Webcon Webber top mount throttle cable contraption. Can someone put up pic of their linkage assembly? I got new everything for mounting except Thackeray washers. Do I need them? Burtons DCOE rebuild kit they describe as being for 40, 45, etc. But the kit package states its only for 45s. Is this still usable to service 40s? Thanks
  19. If Im lucky, the vertical face will blank off much of that. Creativity will do the rest. BTW, What goes here?
  20. I too have concerns of the rear cam fasteners popping open from an impact. I am looking for similar types that are locking yet low profile and stainless.
  21. Who is this? Garage ghost?
  22. Rob, learn more about 7s before any lofty dreams of high horsepower. Step 1 is return to a runner with same plant. You will find <200hp is plenty for this light a car. If you start a new project having to re-engineer everything, it will languish for years and no cost benefit. I would take the car to a caterham specialist or engine/race prep specialist to evaluate the state of things. Especially the transmission. You can get a replacement frame from Arch. Those are "Prisoner" wheels.
  23. They don't neglect the oil, The oil instructions follow the "tank" instructions. The oil instruction is to put the whole 16oz bottle in 4.5 qt oil. Perhaps the product has the qualities of oil with some ZDDP in it. It is Lucas... Very sloppy instructions over all.
