The Regular Summary of Classified Ads of Se7ens Found For Sale
S1Steve replied to Croc's topic in Cars For Sale
Looked like a great buy to me, any decent Seven under 20 grand is a no brainer. Issues were mentioned previously, new Sevens have issues. That’s all part of the joys of owning one.. That’s what I was told 20 years ago when I bought mine brand new..🤪 -
Thanks for the interesting chemistry lesson Gentlemen. As someone that worked in a petroleum refinery, it’s cool to learn about something a little different…. Class Dismissed…🍻
-
Glad it arrived safe. You have my number, feel free to call for more discussions when you get some seat time… 🍻

So this engine hasn’t run in ten years? If that’s the case I would send it off to a machine shop for a hot tank and cam bearings, freeze plugs. The bores may need a hone. Get the deck checked to see if it’s flat. Then new bearings and rings. While I had it apart , inspection of the valve train would be a smart move… I had a Cortina block in my FormulaFord, it used to be fairly inexpensive 30 years ago. Good Luck..

Good Morning Bud, I personally love your new toy. May not be for everyone, there’s a tread going discussing wind buffering. I would think it could be a super fun track car. If you leave the rally tires on it, you could beat Croc by cutting across the grass and jumping a few corners… Enjoy it..🍻

SOLEX carbs are clones of Weber carbs..??

Congratulations John, all your skills and determination paid off well. Your dash is something that keeps drawing my attention. So clean and uncluttered. Nice job, Enjoy it…🍻

I was trying to get Roman to drag race me driving your Grey Ghost.😂😂 I always enjoy driving it. Thank You🍻

Stock Zetec, not a SVT, fuel injection by WEBCON. I have a newer chip, supposedly better chip in the ECU, but no dyno sheet to make an honest comparison. Steve…

Out in the garage changing the oil, so I took a picture of my water pump. 2002 Zetec, and I’ll throw in an old dyno pull.

No problem, I found the information I was looking for. It was just was just were it’s supposed to be. My excuse is old with the wrong glasses on…🤓

Today is the 20 year Anniversary of my Superformance S1 ownership. It’s the longest I’ve ever kept any car, 21000 miles and it has served us well.

Getting closer to a purchase. More questions.
S1Steve replied to Saudio's topic in General Sevens Discussion
Congratulations on your Seven, if you’re on Facebook, there’s a Caterham 620 Owner site that has discussions on 620’s from guys that have been there fixed that. Including the cooling issues. It’s a really interesting , knowledgeable group. Enjoy.. -
Gentlemen, I’m thinking about getting an extra set of 15” wheels for my S1. What is holding me up is the specs . I had all the information at one time , now of course I can find it. Looking for backspace, offset … Thanks in advance.. Steve

Is this homemade looking hose for the factory FI that came on the SVT engine. Or is it from a aftermarket system. Ether way it looks like it would be simple to replicate by someone that builds hydraulic hoses. Be sure to use fuel injection hose, not carburetor hose.. Hope this helps..

Replacing entire front end of Caterham and need some guidance
S1Steve replied to Jonathan Cort's topic in Build Threads
I’d like to see a few photos of your new front frame you bought from Caterham.. Good luck with your replacement.. -
I thought I had the S1 packed away till spring. Really tired of seeing it undercover in the garage. So out it came for a 50 mile loop in 45 degrees in January.. Sounds like the next machine coming out may be the snowblower next week….

I’m not an expert on Lotus chassis tags and what’s original or not. But I do know with what looks like serious front right chassis and pickup point problems. You have to ask yourself if you’re up for serious fabrication. Then I wonder how my brazing skills are, I would answer “ They Stink”..😂😂 -
My daily driver. Chevy Silverado 1500, hauls dogs , firewood , mulch. It’s 6 years old now with 32k. Half of those miles are going to and from Philadelphia to Hilton Head South Carolina. I bought it with V6 for it’s power to mileage ratio. 27 MPG if I drive it decent… And it pulls the S1 and trailer with no sweat…

Well my Italian Heritage came poring out when I drove it. Your pictures don’t do it justice, it’s in top form. When the Espada comes home, that will probably be my new favorite.. Enjoy your Christmas down South.. Cheers Steve…

Speedwagon and Others, Finally packing my Superformance S1 away for the winter. So I see we’re talking radiator’s, I went to the S1 drawer and found a parts list send to me 20 years ago by the selling dealer, when Superformance actually cared about the S1 and their owners.. maybe this info will help..

That was a PALS event. We were headed home and I went a different route . I told Jon not to turn off the Launch Control. Thank God that wasn’t in his Caterham…🤦🏼♂️😂😂
