  1. I had the opportunity to drive Mazda’s LS powered 7 out at the Carlisle car show we all use to attend. It was a bit rough, but stupid fast. After the pole mishap, he gave it away.... Shame that had some potential.. Hey Croc, your over do for a proper Banning.Lol
  2. Ah, I just texted you, I take back all the nasty things I just called you for not responding quickly enough... LOL

    New Build

First off, Congratulations on your 7. It’s been a while for a new build thread on this forum, I would love to see anything you deem fun , informative, or maybe something you have a question about. So I say post up, I have plenty of time to look at pictures. Lol. One of the joys of being retired.. my first question is we’re did you source the engine? I read the transmission is Mazda...
  4. Thanks for sharing Bud, that’s an interesting article. That would be a great upgrade for my S1, but I guess I’d run in to the same problem with fitting it in the already tight S1 chassis. Enjoy building your new Seven..
  5. Just get me a cool tee shirt and I’ll give you a hall pass for being late with list..

We’re going diving tomorrow inMexico, looking for Whale sharks. Should be fun to see something the size of a school bus swim next to you.
  7. Sorry I’m late.. installed my engine per the manual and you’ll have no problem.Did mine once 16 years and 24000miles ago...
  8. Hi Mike, I saw Glen’s car down at Croc’s garage at NJMP this spring for a Lotus gathering. It’s really nice and reliable. About as new as your going to get.Glen has the skills, knowledge and money to do a resto correctly. You know you really need this now that you retired... I didn’t drive it because Croc was kind enough to let me loose in his Ferrari.. Have a great weekend..
  9. Hi RR. I also have the trusty Zetec in my S1. Have you replaced the fuel filters yet, give us some details about your engine setups and maybe we can have a easy fix.
  10. I’m crushed, I just went back and forth with him last week. We have lost a great member of our community. And a real gentleman. Rest In Peace.
  11. I’m guessing it’s the car advertised in Grassroots magazine. It certainly is a new 7 , 600+ miles in 5 years. I would think it’s in the middle 50 range. My only concern would be the lack of mileage. Is it sort out properly. Sitting does them no good. But I highly doubt you’ll find a nicer one . Good luck with your decision.
  12. Congratulations, you bought a wild ride.
  13. Mike, Taylor Race Engineering Plano Tx. One of the best in the business.
  14. Never Seize on the plug threads on a aluminum head is what your supposed to do. It also collects dirt.. a few things to think about. New plugs , fresh gas, and maybe the O2 sender is crapped up or not working. It’s this how it ran when you got it??
  15. You could try the Superformance dealer in California. Parts for the S1 has always be the biggest problem. Good Luck .
  16. Congrats on your new 7. I’d ask Croc , if I were asking the registration question
  17. I’m thinking your going to find the problem is deeper into the engine than your camshafts. I’d pull the head off and get a better idea of why just one lobe is banged up.Something with that cylinder chamber is bent, stuck, what ever you would like to call it. I would also clean out the oil pan and maybe even replace the oil pump. Aren’t these cars fun. Best of luck Sir..
  18. This is one properly screwed together road and track Seven. Best to you Stu..
  19. Stuart and Colleen, Sorry for the late reply. Wishing you a good recovery, stay positive And put this behind you. All the best, Steve
  20. Two weeks ago, Croc, Roman, Tim, Garret and self were out with 37 others for a bridge tour.
  21. Then the silver car would belong to all around nice guy Tom Carlin.
  22. I just don't see how you can forget to add a asking price.
  23. I can only say , " Thank You " to all that attended. It's really is a fun filled weekend with like minded people. I'm kind of proud to say I went into and over turn 5 a lot faster than needed, and enjoyed the grassy side of turn 5. It really shoots you south if you get it alittle wrong... Happy to meet new friends and see my old ones. Thanks again Mike and Tom.... ps, Thanks to Scott Lentz for the nice new Caterham R500.... Hell of a guy !!! LOL
  24. Well that stinks... This Fz2002 is a sprint kit that I thought would have a much shorter service life than stock. Burton sells some cool parts for our Zetec, but it's mostly geared for track duty, not long term street use. Your a sharp guy, you'll be on the road soon.... Best Wishes....
  25. Not much to look at.... Maybe if they lent it to me for the weekend I would learn to like it.... Rear looks like a Ferrari P3, the rest of it looks like the Panoz...
