  1. I know not this thing you call work. Last weeks job (architecture) sucked big time, that felt a lot like work .
  2. I was at the USA Top Gear taping and it was really awesome, it is a shame it got dropped. While I was not a fan of Adam Carolla, he was fantastic, and the other guys were pretty good too
  3. Actually, I've been doing photography work for them pretty steadily for the past 4+ years. I've written a few counterpoints as well, though I usually try and avoid doing them. It's funny, I usually have work in almost every issue, but every time I write a counterpoint I get calls from people telling me how they saw my name in the mag. I shot the Accord, Fusion, Mazda 6 test as well in this issue. Last month I did the Cover shot and the 600hp car comparison I've driven and voted on a few comparison tests as well and I often help with some of the performance testing that is done here in CA See my website below for better versions of the photos that have appeared in the mag and elsewhere
  4. Wow, just wow..... :banghead:
  5. Thanks for coming to my defense Gert, Sean, Mazda, but now I can't post the nasty gram I was typing up :jester: While Joe the plumber might not care if his photo is used in a calendar, Sally the photographer will. I once caught a company using my photo illegally and I got quite a bit of money (thousands) for it. I was looking out for ya's And FTR, I don't have an internet business, and I am not the photographer who sits on the side of some road trying to sell prints back to private owners, I shoot for commercial clients and car magazines. My website is my portfolio and I post it in my signature more to share what I do with my friends than to try and get business, if that happens to land me a new client, all the better
  6. Are you sure about that? Most of the time when you buy photos from a photographer it doesn't automatically grant you rights to do as you please with them unless he/she specified in the agreement that you can reproduce them for things like calenders, etc.
  7. I had my paperwork done back in July paid all my fees and taxes, and they gave me 6 month temp permit ( the woman was in a generous mood). I went back 3 weeks ago to have them double check my paperwork and I was at the DMV at 4:30am on the 2nd ( a few guys were there at 3am). About 15 people showed at my DMV and all of us got one except for the guy who showed up a 9:30 for one, they turned him away When I was at the DMV three weeks ago, they told me that they would not be giving out temp permits so easily anymore
  8. They were all gone by 10am today .
  9. Mee tooooooo!!!!! :hurray:
  10. I got a Seven book for XMas, and I don't even celebrate X Mas.... :7drive: .
  11. Adam Carola, Tanner Faust and Eric Stromer http://image.motortrend.com/f/miscellaneous/all-three-hosts-for-american-top-gear-confirmed/9759140+cr1+re0+ar1/american-top-gear-hosts.jpg
  12. They already made the US version of the show, it was supposed to air on NBC this winter, but they decided to pass on it. They are now looking for a cable channel to air it on. I was in the audience for the taping of the pilot, it was great!
  13. It was discussed here a few months ago http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/Default.aspx?g=posts&t=2488
  14. It was more than just the tires, the suspension settings were different too. The newest version of Elise is meant be a sports car for the street with the Exige having more of a track focus. Lotus screwed up and should have sent the Exige or an Elise with the track pack on it. Manufacturers work closely with tire companies to come up with a tire they think is best for the car, and in many cases the compounds are specific to the car. If they come up with a package that doesn't produce the best track results, that is their fault and it shouldn't be up to the magazines to compensate for that. And I have driven the Cobalt SS extensively, it is very fast
  15. As is the case with any magazine/show that tests factory cars, changing the tires makes it about the tires, not the car as you buy it
  16. No change in status other than I need tires :ack:
  17. I shot a story on him last year. The car is pretty cool http://www.caranddriver.com/var/ezwebin_site/storage/images/features/all/2007/batteries_included_feature/batteries_included_gallery/batteries_included_gallery_image_003/947306-1-eng-US/batteries_included_gallery_image_0031_gallery_image_large.jpg http://www.caranddriver.com/re...ature
  18. The TG episodes on BBC America are like two years old, this episode won't be on for a long time if ever. Only way to watch it will be via the internets

    Lotus Evora

It's not meant to be the ultimate in performance or compete with cars like the Z06, it is more of a Porsche 911/caymen competitor. There will also be a supercharged version with about 400hp coming
  20. It's a viral ad for the John Cooper Works Mini Here is the whole video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j3FA-u6K58g Here is a another fun one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E2lV75gtca0
  21. Car now has 8k miles on it, so did 4k in six months
  22. So what exactly is included as ancillaries besides the starter and alternator? Is the intake system included in that? In my book, a block means there is no head on it http://www.websmileys.com/sm/sad/533.gif The engine and transmission package for the CSR260 we tested a couple of years ago was $20k, The 200hp Zetec engine and 6-speed transmission package was $13k, I can't imagine the price went down since then. $2k seems cheap to me, but then again the engine rebuild on my Elan was over $10k  (anyone want to buy an Elan?)
  23. It says on their website: Sounds like it is more than just the block, it's the whole engine you have to buy.
