The green and gold was brabham. The the 1968 gold leaf livery lotus 49 was the first ever sponsored grand prix car.

I found that website about a year back and I've probably logged more than 10+ hours on it... By the way - if you saw the video of the ferrari TR250 pontoon fender crashing at the monterey historics YouTube - David Love crashes a Ferrari 250TR at the 2009 Monterey Historics - it's seen worse. http://www.tamsoldracecarsite.net/DavidLove2.html

I have the gopro wide and it's ok. The nice thing is the 170 deg polarity. I throw it on the front fairing of my go kart and I can see what my feet are doing. You definitely have to play around with mounting positions, volume settings and seal or no seal on the case. The motorsports kit is pretty cool because it comes with a suction cup (which holds very well. Should work on a 7 no problem), and 4 sticky pads (2 curved for heltmets and 2 flat for flat surfaces). Don't pay $200 for it...you can find them on the internet for $130 or so. There are some other alternatives. Vholdr hd is one... I think they tend to be better with wind noise. I think there's also a kodak zx-1 or something that does ok. There's also the motocam 360 which is basicly a mounting system for a sony camera. Then there's also the option of a lipstick camera with a solid state recorder. If you don't mind waiting a bit for the absolute highest-quality video, both the ContourHD1080p and the GoPro Hero Wide HD 1080p both come out soon I think - if they're not already out. If money's no object and you want to record data and sync to your video - smarty cam by aim is pretty cool. It's a plug and play system with their data recorders - gives you GPS data. If you have one of their high end data acq. systems you can even run your throttle, gear and brake position to it among just about any other sensor you can think of. I've also been interested to see what chase cam comes up with...

I'm willing to bet the 900 lbs is a bending load. When placing the wheels like that, there's quite a bit of shear load that the dolleys weren't intended for. I'd be a little more careful on your car mazda. The good side of things are you're not likely to do much damage if one does break.

Good call! Great looking car and welcome.

Thanks for posting at my request! Now just a few questions... What exactly is "E production suspension"? Is your car a live axle or dedion? Did you notice any corner entry understeer by welding the diff? How light is your flywheel? Also, what duration elgin cam are you running and what about ignition? 165 hp is impressive for a crossflow! Sorry to bother you with all of these questions! You sure are brave to run those naked velocity stacks.

Thanks for posting! I love those mallocks. They're like a 7...just so much uglier! You should go to the member section and post up the specs on your car. I know I'm curious about your setup. -
Cool Pictures of Old Car Transporters with New Period Cars on Them

Or how about a Bud Moore's Ford 8000 COE carrying a Parnelli Jones' BOSS 302 mustang? http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v121/TheDingo8MyBaby/33010010410_large.jpg -
Cool Pictures of Old Car Transporters with New Period Cars on Them
TheDingo8MyBaby replied to scannon's topic in Off Topic
Thanks for sharing skip. Seems that recently, restoring old transporters has been the trend in the historic race car world. I guess these guys needed to spend money restoring something else than their priceless race cars. They had the Don Orosco's Scarab transporter at the Monterey historics a few years ago. That was really neat to see. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v121/TheDingo8MyBaby/_mg_6534.jpg I've also seen the Encurie Ecosse transporter: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v121/TheDingo8MyBaby/Ecurie-Ecosse-transporter.jpg Ferrari Transporter: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v121/TheDingo8MyBaby/0208_20zoomFerrari_transporter_truc.jpg The Tyrrell Transporter: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v121/TheDingo8MyBaby/640.jpg -
I have a live axle caterham and it suffers mid corner inside rear tire lift. I can't put what little power I have down. I have no doubt a LSD will help. I have another car with a live axle and adding a LSD was probably the best investment yet...

While I think a miata is a great car, I'd also look at early 90's Sentra se-r's, late 80's (MKI) or even early 90's (MKII) MR2's, 85-87 RWD toyota corolla GT-S (with LSD), CRX Si's...

Do you have a live axle car or dedion? A higher final drive number will mean better acceleration and therefore you will have LESS speed in a certain gear. (EDIT: I think I read what you said wrong..) Nobody will carry a pumpkin with the LSD and R&P built in. Yes, the ring gear is interchangable. I've been looking for a LSD for a long time but cant seem to find one at a reasonable price. I believe a LSD will really transform the car because the rear end is so light. So you have the bilsteins? Are your swaybars adjustable? Were both the R compounds and FF slicks all the same size? Did you play with tire pressures?

How to change a belt in under 5 seconds!
TheDingo8MyBaby replied to yellowss7's topic in General Tech
Not a great idea... you end up over-stressing the belt putting it on like that and you probably wont have the right tension anyway. Cool gimmicky video though. -
Bruce, What really gets me is you're posting other people's for sale ads. That's a class act right there. Sorry you have to let this go... Seems like a great price and I hope you'll find someone who will take care of it!

You may want to try to post on apexpseed.com under the "Formula F" section. -
FWIW...that's a Toyota 3TC, not a T-3C

I agree with the general consensus - your car is awesome! Those IDF's will look VERY nice. If you build a hood, it would be neat to see the trumpets under a plexi-glass cover like the old ferraris...or you could leave them open like can am cars. Who needs air filters anyway?
-
I was running around -3 degrees up front, but this was in a car with a live axle. I believe the spec miata guys are around -2.5 to -3 with the RA1's. with a caterham I'd guess -1.5 to -2 would be reasonable. It's one of those "your results may vary" sorta things. If you don't have one, you can buy a camber gauge for pretty cheap. Toe is easy to check with string/measuring tape. You can definitely play around with it. Keep in mind, it may feel better in the corners, but you'll also lose some braking.

I think these have been around for a while. They remind me of the hubcap spinners... Mondo...your avatar is freaking me out, but freaking hilarious too.

http://www.galvestondailynews.com/story.lasso?ewcd=792e1da427373dfb "The Veyron’s powerful engine gurgled like an outboard motor for about 15 minutes before it died." If it ran for 15 mins.. I would venture to guess it didn't get into the engine but eventually found its way to electricals. I also like how he thinks it's "the rarest car in the world."

I've driven on them in the dry. Pretty much standard for an R compound tire. It's a good bargain R compound tire as it holds up to heat cycling pretty well and seems to last. It's not much better than the RA1 in my opinion. From what I've heard they're o.k. in the wet. I'd definitely worry about standing water with a tread pattern without a central rain groove. Sevens are easy enough on tires that if you're doing mostly dry weather driving I'd reccomend them as a street tire. The RA1 would probably be a better choice if you're going to see a lot of wet weather driving. On one final note, the RA1 likes a lot of camber and the R888 similarly so, though it seems the R888 produces more camber thrust. I had good results slightly reducing the camber.

I saw it at the monterey historics. It does look a little better in person, but not by much.

Nope, it was a crossflow. Now that you mention it...I wonder how heavy/big one of those 2.0L turbocharged motors is...
