  1. That Superformance S-1 is just like mine. He has his production numbers wrong though. They made 56 of these cars. I have #55. Tom
  2. On my 05 Ford Expedition the key fob had to be within 5 feet of a special relay that was in the relay box. This special relay has a white dot on it to distinguish it from the factory relay. The factory relay was left in the glove compartment. Tom
  3. Greg, Seven years of varnish buidup in the fuel lines also and if any loosenes up while driving, it's very easy to clog an injector or make it stick open. Tom
  4. Wow! That is nice. My guess is that something failed in the fuel delivery system and flooded the chambers with too much fuel. Washed down the cylinders and thinned out the oil? What do you think you will have in that engine when it's all said and done? Tom
  5. Yay, another 7 in the Valley of the Sun! Let me know if you want to do some short blats to get used to it. The wife and I are always needing more excuses. Tom
  6. I offered my off road car in exchange but he already had something similar. Good trade. Tom
  7. Those are great!
  8. Here in the States? Or in South Africa?
  9. We haven't ventured too far from the Valley yet, but plan on a blat on Highway 89 and 89A from Wickenburg to Sedona in the Spring. We'll give you a heads-up when we finalize the plan. Tom
  10. Good to hear. We're going for a blat on Sunday if it's not too cold. You know, down in the 60's. :-) Tom
  11. Hahahahaha I am so stealing that pic. Tom
  12. The injectors are all hot with 12 volts (usually on a red wire) as soon as the key is turned to start or run. Only when the computer sends a ground on the other wire does an injector fire. So, make sure the ECU has its ground good and tight and connected to battery ground, not just the nearby skin or frame. You should also check to see what your battery voltage is when you crank it over AND with just the key turned to ON. A weak battery will give you all kinds of problems. Tom
  13. Gotta love "D" rings and cable ties. Are you an electronics tech or something of that nature? Tom
  14. So I see a lot of excess silicone on the inside edge of that valve cover gasket. Make sure you remove all of that before you button it back up. Never good to have pieces of that non-disolvable rubber clogging up your oil pickup screen. Nice and clean though, that's a good thing. Tom
  15. John, I'm no aerodynamics major, but if you are going to make a new pipe and muffler, I would put the muffler up closer to the header down pipe and have a longer exit pipe. This would give the exhaust gases more time to settle back down into a nice laminar flow before they exit the tip, giving them more speed and less burbling. I also would not flare the tip. When someone on LOCOSTUSA did an airstream model on the Seven bodywork, I was amazed at how much of the air that hits the rear fenders flows up into the cab rather than off to the side. Tom
  16. Do you have any info as to what cars that carb might have been installed on in the States? I might be able to look in some of our wrecking yards in Phoenix to snag a choke plate and cable assembly or the entire carb. Tom
  17. My Superformance S-1 has a 160 degree thermostat (a new one) but I am having trouble with it running hot (at least indicating hot, it doesn't boil over) but I think it is an air flow and not water flow problem. The cowl intake is very restrictive on the S-1. A washer instead of a thermostat is old school hot rodding solution, simple and once you determine the correct hole size, dependable. I don't like them because it takes forever for your engine to warm up because the water pump is always sending enough coolant through the radiator to cool the engine under the most extreme conditions. Causes the engine to run so cool that the intake won't heat up enough to warm the fuel air charge for good mixing. I'd put in a thermostat. Has the choke plate been removed or just wired open? Is it the old single barrel carb or the dual? Let me know if I can help. I live just 2 miles south of Carefree and another S-1 owner lives in Carefree. Tom
  18. As in Sedona AZ? Cool! Another Seven in the state..Let me know if you want to run Highway 89 through White Spar. Tom
  19. You just gotta love guys that are not worried about what other people might think of them. Tom
  20. I wonder what is so wrong with his forehead that he has to keep it covered up? Tom
  21. I can't see any of those photos. Tom
  22. Report him to FleaBay. They don't like shill bidders very much, at least in public view. Tom
  23. Usually every Wednesday night for me as I go to dinner with a bunch of old farts. We call it BNO (Boys Night Out). At the last one my headlight relay decided to quit working so I had to hotwire the headlights on to get home; the hotwire bounced loose as I pulled into my driveway. Talk about Dark City. We go to different restaurants every week and I purposely take the long and remote way home. Tom
  24. The seller might be trolling for stupid rich people. Tom
  25. That could also be a sureptitious though poorly thought out anti-theft device. Tom
