  1. I saw it in person at the Museum in San Diego a few years back and was so impressed with the logistics alone. You know that the idea was somehow alcohol generated. Tom
  2. This guy did it years before. http://sdautomuseum.org/exhibit/louis-mattars-fabulous-car Tom
  3. Runvus othr wmn
  4. I'll store it at my place if he wants to. Tom
  5. Notwithstanding what slomove said, I don't believe you go by the diameter of the splines, you go by and drill the hole according to the diameter of the stud where there are no splines. Other wise the splines will have nothing to swedge themselves in to. (that has got to be the worst sentence I have ever typed) Tom
  6. Need pics of all the nouns please. :-)
  7. I once stayed at a Holiday Inn Express...
  8. And to add to what Dave said, make sure the spiral cut tubing is rated for the heat of the engine compartment. Some plastics give it up when exposed to long periods of heat, others not so much. I think 105 degrees centigrade rated is what you want. I use the softer electronics grade in my business and therefore have used it to keep my looms neat and tidy, but the heat of the engine compartment turns it brittle within a few years. Tom
  9. I'm always wary of online articles that don't have a date. The ads that they throw at your screen always have dates, but not the articles. I wonder why they do that, or don't do that? Tom
  10. It will just be noisy with the intake sucking from the inside, that's all. And of course, if you ever put a full top on it, all the windows will bow inwards. :-) Tom
  11. I just hope that wasn't a series of pics of someone lowering a stolen Locost down into his basement. Ya never know.... Tom
  12. If you could get one like they made for the Superformance S-1 built, it would be great. It is made from fiberglass and screws onto the bottom of the floor at the frame locations, and has very rounded edges so it glides over just about every speed bump very nicely. Tom

    My ADD

My wife and I have had Rhinos since 06. Our daughter has a company in Tucson that does R&D for Military "endeavors" and this is what they did to their Rhino. In this video it is only remote controlled, but later they made it autonomous; able to think and follow a preset program. You can see the video detection camera on the roof and a little antenna broadcasting what it sees back to the "operators" laptop. Mine still needs the giant nut that holds on the steering wheel. Tom
  14. Join D.A.M. Mothers Against Dyslexia Tom
  15. That looks a lot like the american version of dune buggies in muddy mountains, right down to the steering brakes. Tom
  16. I want to see what it can do in the Texas Mile. Tom
  17. So this is the Dodge Viper with the V-10? Tom
  18. Wow. I don't know how much they are asking for it but those tail light and turn signals look like the same cheap-ass plastic socket garbage that they put on the Superformance S-1. I hope that with all the fine engineering that had to have went into that car, that they at least put more than 30 seconds into the choosing of lights. Tom
  19. Xcarguy has it correct, there is a switch that is activated by separation of trailer from tow vehicle. That switch connects a battery on board the trailer with all the trailer's brakes, locking them on full, until that pull-out pin is put back into the switch, opening up the circuit. Highway DOT inspectors, if they have pulled you over for another reason, will always check to make sure they hear the "hum" of the magnets when they ask you to pull that break-away pin. I am upgrading the wiring pigtail on one of my 8 or 9 trailers (I've lost count) and will replace that break-away switch along with the 7 wire pigtail and add a junction box for the pigtail-to-trailer connection. Tom
  20. Ain't that the truth. I volunteer to do ALL of the errands for my wife now. I think she may be suspicious. Tom
  21. So the Wife and I were on one of our weekend blats and driving past a sand and gravel yard, and I decided to do a quick weigh-in. With a half tank of gas, full top and doors and about 20 pounds of tools, water and a chain saw bar and blade (I try and have a rational excuse for every drive): 1550 lbs Not as heavy as I thought it would be. Tom
  22. That Birkin looks like a great deal. The S-1 seller stating that he cannot help with the titling is a red flag in my book. I'd definitely as for pics of the MSO AND the chassis number stamped in the headrests. Tom
  23. But there is a positive note (no pun intended, it just happened that way) to positive ground systems, but I can't remember it right now. Let me think... Tom
  24. Finally hot a hold of someone at NTK and sure enough, he has never seen that number before either. And yes, there are slight differences between different sensors in each type, at least according to him. I have an email into Webcon to see if they know what was spec'd out for their Alpha P1043 E4 systems. Tom
  25. I supposedly have a standard Ford Focus engine with the four Weber UK throttle bodies running off of an Alpha P1043;E4 computer. It is a narrow band sensor I believe. I say that because even the NTK PDF doesn't have a listing for the OZA30-D3 sensor that was in my car. I left a message on Lance Stander's voice mail but haven't received a call back yet. I tried to get with him a couple of times at Barret Jackson, but both times he had a real customer in front of him and I didn't want to interrupt him for such a piddly question. Tom
