  1. Errr? The Caterham is LHD. What are you seeing that I am missing? It is a garage mahal unit that I use to store and collect way too much automotive stuff. Brilliant idea. The cig packet is a 1977 Holden Torana, ex-race car with a non-original paint job from when it did advertising duties in a shopping mall. Needs total restoration.

  3. Hi Ben, Do you want tires for the 13 inch wheels you are buying? Then I would think seriously about the Avon ZZS which has more of a street bias than the ZZR and was a replacement for the CR500. They are light compared to their competition and we are all focused on reducing weight. The Avons are always in-stock available from Roger Krause in CA - delivered to your door. I have never had a supply issue. He supplies all my tires for all my cars despite him being on the wrong side of the country to me. If you still have doubts then just phone them with the wheel sizes and ask them to give you the range of tire they would recommend. That has turned up some really good options for me in the past that I would never have thought of.
  4. Excellent news! Since you are no longer a wussy and you are through the aftermath of your hip operation, I am sure you will get out there and kick some butt! :flag: Totally jealous with that FL weather forecast!
  5. Stop being a pussy. You have only a fraction of my toys and I don't complain about having that many. I even added to them with one extra this week. (oops ) You just have to find a house with a 4 car garage and leave the wife's car outside. It all about asserting your manhood! :cooldude: You love your Stalker more than your [insert word]!:jester: Quick Shane - dive in with reinforcement, we are close to winning!
  6. Don't do it Bob - you will regret it. You are too young to live with the old folks in the retirement villages on the East Coast of FL.
  7. Now now Bob - I know you Florida residents are tetchy about your cupholders given your roads of perfectly flat straight, never a corner to be seen, lend themselves to boulevard cruising at 30 mph. 10. I think I scared him away? :jester:
  11. Pfft! Go big or go home Jay! So I forgot something very important. You dont want a woman in your garage. They fall over things. Drive into other things. Smash up cars. Find all those spare parts and tools you have been buying or discover your highly expensive and extensive secret bourbon collection...just ask Yellowss7! :jester: So I recommend a cleaner. No not Mr Clean but a Roomba. I have three of these in the garage mahal - 1 upstairs and 2 downstairs. Work brilliantly. Yes you do have to rescue them from time to time as they get stuck under oily sumps (BMW CSL, Zetec Caterham), under a low muffler (Caterham CSR), or hung up on a radiator (yellow Rover K series Caterham), or even under a leaky oil tanker...sorry 65 Mustang differential. Cats absolutely love them. But it saves me so much time. I can be productive doing absolutely nothing while these bad bois are sucking hard. Besides, can you really see yourself asking your wife "Honey...can you clean my garage?" I also went downstairs at the office and Martha was not there today (genuinely not there) but I hit up the team there who are working on my office relocation (her girls and her guys who might-as-well-be-or-are-girls) to ask what good garage projects they had anything on. Of course they asked what color the floors are, matching drapes, and that rubbish but after explaining real men don't have drapes (and some of the "guys" there really liked that and wanted your photo) and that you would have a masculine looking colored floor (dark polished concrete was my idea but one of them suggested a cherry wood floor) they suggested the following colors: - ceiling - should be white - window/door trims - should be white supposedly - walls...and I entered a world of pain... Apparently Martha loves "Greige" WTF is that? Apparently it is a cross between beige and grey. Here: Functional Gray Others they suggested as being good for a garage were: Gray Screen and Software (who came up with this stupid name?) Apparently these are all trendy "in" colors this year. I said you were trendy...sort of... Of course they asked about your wife and whether you were under the thumb. I said quite possibly of course yes so they gave me the catalog World of Pain I am sure others will come up with good ideas to fit out your garage! Pile on guys! :jester:
  12. Hi Graham You may not want to click that link as it is pricey. But thats ok as Jay can afford it. He just bought his wife a new kitchen. My floor came from Terry Kenny (father to TJ that many people met at NJMP in July). At the time he was running this business https://garagestoragesouthjersey.com/garage-flooring The floor is great. Easy to clean up. Very durable except when a 65 Mustang on jack stand rollers decides to lock a rolling wheel (scrape....) My mistake was to get a uniform light color. It shows the dirt like nothing else. Oil from the aforementioned 65 Mustang, 2008 orange Caterhams, 2004 maroon zetecs, Locosts with Hand engines, etc tends to stain the floor and vigorous use of thinners is required to clean. I should have chosen one of the darker variegated finishes. I now use a Hoover wash and vac cleaner with cleaning fluid and thinners in it to clean things up - works well. Interim cleaning is covered my my two trusty roombas!
  13. Continuing on the theme... For garage cabinets you have two options: 1) The traditional metal look for which there is only Baldhead cabinets https://www.baldheadcabinets.com/showcase/ 2) However, I did not want a metal look and my personal garage decorator said I should try for a different cabinet finish (metallic pearl) so I got the signature series custom ordered through here https://garagestoragesouthjersey.com/garage-cabinets The garage mahal uses Monkey Bar storage racking items https://garagestoragesouthjersey.com/garage-shelving Now we need to talk about your walls. Specifically decorator items. I think you will want a custom neon lighted sign: http://www.vaultgarage.com/garage-furnishings/decor/ Then you need some nice artwork. My personal preference is some tasteful MILF photography but I suspect that would not go down well with the Missus? So maybe a nice wallpaper from Wallsauce? Their premium removable wallpaper works well and sticks. https://www.wallsauce.com/us/ You could upload a photo of you looking stunning on track and they will make a wallpaper out of it. Actually they have already done it: https://www.wallsauce.com/us/wall-murals/photo-wallpaper/extended-range/61776754 Or use their stock images like here https://www.wallsauce.com/us/wall-murals-wallpaper/vintage-racing-car-mural-wallpaper Now we have not talked fridges yet. As someone who specializes in liquid refreshment and as an owner of four fridges in my two "homes" (one full of wine, one full of wine and beer, one full of coke and bottled water, and one full of wine and last night's left over Chinese takeaway) I have just the fridge you need in your garage. https://www.kingsbottle.com/ I have a sizable model downstairs in the garage mahal and it is sensational. Glass doors to admire your next liquid conquest. Capacity to handle the thirsty needs of 100 people turning up unexpectedly for lunch on a Drivers Club day. And they are built like brick shithouses - wonderful quality. You do need a forklift to accept delivery...that was not a good morning for me... Air compressors? Those wheel nuts proving too much for your puny arm muscles? Of course they are. So you need pneumatic impact wrench. That requires serious air power. This little puppy will deliver. I bet you are glad you wired the garage for 240v now! http://www.gregsmithequipment.com/Atlas-Air-Force-AF15-Plus-Two-Stage-Three-Phase-120-Gallon-Air-Compressor Of course you may not need as much air in which case Greg Smith has a range of other lesser options for the more modest person. If you want garage ideas Greg Smith Equipment is an incredibly dangerous place to shop. I will just leave their link carelessly here for you to accidentally click on: http://www.gregsmithequipment.com/online-catalog Oh you still have money left in the wallet? Cosworth Duratec engine upgrades? Last time I supplied this link to someone it cost them a serious 5 figure dollar number. The car is on this forum...its orange... http://www.cosworth.com/media/335568/duratec_components_catalogue_2009_v1.0.pdf Do you want me to keep going? :jester:
  14. Thats tragic. I dont know how you cope? Do you need an emotional support hotline? Very clever - I like that idea. Go polished concrete flooring. Everything mops up and they have some stains that make it a more practical color. Hindsight in my Garage Mahal says thats what I should have done. Automatic doors only. Get the new internet type with an app so you can open the door for miscreants, troublemakers, mechanics, so-called friends, and possibly the wife while you sit in a bar in Tokyo snuffling down a beer on yet another work trip. Works for me. Incredibly expensive but entertaining. Connect it with a camera system with microphone/speaker arrangement. Then you can talk someone to finding something in the garage while you are on the otherside of the world. Best modification I did for my garage. just what the wife needed Put a Big Ass over your workbench https://www.bigassfans.com/lights/the-garage-light/ Fantastic work light Does your fusebox allow enough amps for this? Ask me how I know..... As for the electric car - buy her a Tesla. They are really expensive but you know you will be in the good books for at least a month. She will be wowed by the iPad in the front console. No way she will be using her cell phone and driving anymore. Are you connecting the garage to the house or the garage to the mainline? Either way I recommend just sucking it up and going for it. Don't be a pussy! The alternative is to model the new winter wear collection here: https://www.llbean.com Normally I am the biggest tool in any garage but I think I know what you are referring to? I like Gladiator - I use it in my home garage to keep stuff off the floor at king high tides when it floods (no I am not kidding - it is a foot above normal high tide on the Hudson River). This is what I have. I love reconfiguring it as things I am storing change over time. http://www.gladiatorgarageworks.ca/images/espots/WallMounting_espot1.jpg However, I am not a fan of their cabinets - pretty cheap and not great quality for the price. Let me dig out my preferred supplier today. Also I will reach out to my good friend Martha and ask her about wall color. Her office is a couple floors downstairs from mine today.
  15. I think that speaks to your powers of negotiation. A lot of guys sell cars to buy their wife a new kitchen. I think your deal is pretty special! Can we help you decorate the man cave? I have lots of ideas.... :jester:
  16. Women! They always are causing trouble. Replacements are expensive. I would just fix the switch yourself! :jester:

  18. Oops I guess I cut and pasted the wrong link. I did look at that one yesterday when prowling Ebay.:svengo:
  19. The AIM Solo connects into my ECU using the following plug - it looks like what you would use to get OBDII data but it is not. The data is CAN but not OBDII format. Assuming that your ECU was not locked to prevent CAN output then this solution should work to allow you to log data while driving. A sample of how I get data out of my Caterham MBE locked ECU after a drive is below: I suggest if you decide to go this road then get the DL model as this adds GPS capability which gives you extra data with which to contextualize the ECU data. The AIM unit will not allow you to change anything and only allow a passive review of the data. Longer term you may just want to skip this process and just buy a new unlocked ECU.
  20. I confirmed you can configure an EFI_Europe for an AIM Solo. The Solo is configured by connecting to a pc and running AIM Race Studio. You enter the "Device Configuration" option. Then you select the ECU Manufacturer - in this case EFI_Europe Then you select the ECU model Then you transmit the new settings in an upload to the AIM Solo. You then go out and log a session driving or on track (configure the AIM appropriately). Depending on what I am trying to diagnose then I will overlay the data onto a video so I can use the video/GPS data to help me understand what the data might be trying to tell me. Otherwise you can use AIM Race Studio Analysis to review the data as follows: I will point out some of these ECU data labels are clearly wrong - I dont have a turbo for example - but most are correct.

  22. Bob - Thats great news to hear! Here is to your complete recovery!
  23. BUMP to the top of the list for the best looking WCM Ultralite on the planet!
  24. Sorry Bruce - I was not trying to criticize but your ad is best in its own thread as this Ebay thread will just roll on ultimately obscuring your car for sale if it is mentioned here. As a paid up club member you do get the privilege of having your own thread for selling your car. Its just more visible to potential buyers. I will give your ad a bump to give it a lift to the top - even above my own car for sale ad! If you do advertize on Ebay and Craigslist I will pick it up on this thread - I think thats fair!
  25. If you cannot find your VIN stamped on the chassis now then you may need to have a chassis plate with the VIN on it for when you sell as it facilitates the next owner transferring title/registrations into their new state/ownership.
