  1. Not a bad result for the usual fettling in process leaving you with some good feedback to work on. Who was the track day operator? Was the Caterham owned by anyone on here?
  2. One car you could include would be Steve's finished Birkin that has to come east! That is one Birkin project I really want to see in person. :seeya:
  3. LOL - That would be a long signature line if I include the ex-cars or my daily driver. I sold a lot in recent years and pared it down to those I want to hang around. Even then some are restore, keep a little while and sell. For that reason I only show the ex-sevens and the current cars.
  4. No its not for sale. You are referencing the "signature" panel of Xcarguy. It is below a gray line separating the text being posted. A signature/footer/reminder of who the person is and what they own.

  6. Nice going John, I believe that was a bitch slap to half the forum! Even I have never been that obnoxious. Should we start on canoe jokes with you?
  7. I would add to Tom's list, this: - engine mounts secure and rubber not cracked - radiator mounts - exhaust bobbins not deteriorated - exhaust connections to body is a good one - the hexagonal nut joining the two parts of the steering column together is a very good one to check - diff bolts secure is a good check - I would replace brake fluid with fresh stuff for peace of mind - replace the metal rear wing connectors to the body with the plastic riv nuts (or whatever they are called). If you ever rip out a rear wing then the metal is undamaged on the body with the plastic nuts. - check if your brake hoses are weeping fluid - replace - check fuel hoses for cracking - replace - identify where your roll over cut off switch is located under the bonnet. guarantee you will trigger it at the first pot hole and have to reset it.
  8. I know Antony well - he's my insurance broker. My supreme confidence comes from knowing that I am better than anyone who drives a Porsche. Porsche owners buy a car to make themselves look good. I don't need to do that. I look in a mirror and see something much better looking than a Porsche, far more reliable, much easier and cheaper to service (even women can!), parts are cheaper although quality fluids for me are on the expensive side of things but know I can drive faster than a Porsche. Quite a compelling case. :jester: Now to anyone offended by my statement, please PM Kitcat and complain - he's an attorney.:leaving: For those Porsche owners really offended, just substitute Subaru and the statement still all works. And it was nice knowing everyone since John is about to ban me for life!:seeya:
  9. Of course John - I am better looking! :cooldude:
  10. Emotionally delicate? Hoarder in need of saving? Forgetful? Complements your hair? Lost the car in your cluttered garage? Need a few more years to use up all those K series engine spares, head gaskets, plastic engine dowels, etc? Don't want to give Kathy the chance to purloin the sale funds for more shoes, kitchen, shoes, holiday, shoes, grandchildren, shoes, etc? Why sell the yellow car which is the one you are fastest in? It does not run therefore cannot be sold until fixed? Its cheaper than an affair? Nicer than a Porsche? I could go on..... Should I continue? :jester: Edited to add - I just looked at the laundry list of my automotive money pits in the signature footer to this post........and admit that I am not much better...
  11. New one on Bringatrailer - Locost https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2000-lotus-stuart-taylor-locost-7/
  12. Mike and I prefer talking with those pilots who don't stuff the landing!
  13. Good powers of observation - you have been monitoring. He has come down a long way from mid-20s since first offering. It does not help that the ad is so limited in any form of detail although photos of the car have marginally improved since it first came up for sale.
  14. Dude, you spend half your life rotating around backwards while still in a forward gear and still you want reverse?
  15. I dont get whats going on as that is the correct link but it is redirecting to another ad being on a Westfield. The link should be sending you to this car below http://www.automotiverestorations.com/sales/home/1958-lotus-seven-s1
  16. Good that my name is Mike too so I claim more wings when you next come into Teterboro! :jester:

  18. Definitely true - the acquisition of title is usually the cheapest part of my "buying" experience lately!
  19. My approach has been like Papak - both as a buyer and a seller. For the internet/phone auctions where I could not do a physical inspection but relied on photos, I just did a wire and swapped title by Fedex and had a transport co do the pick up. It depends on the comfort level I feel with the other person. I have not used it but there was a website for escrow payments where funds were held in trust until both sides are comfortable that delivery has been effected. Some googling will turn that up.
  20. I know the former owner of the Mandurah car. He gave me the idea for the superlite wheels. His were silver powdercoat with polished rim.
  21. Bolt pattern is GM Chevy. The deeper dish is what I was expecting and like. Not sure the bronze (brown toning) works on my older car especially well, so for me would need to be a black or a deep charcoal powder coat but that it easily chosen. Backspacing is yet to be finalized given we are playing with front geometry. They do look really good!
  22. Interestingly you have chosen the Superlite wheels that I am planning to buy for the Torana - 15x10 all round - polished rim, black inner powder coat. They use them on Touring Car Masters race series vehicles.

  24. Organization is proceeding ahead. Restaurants are booked at 35ppl. Hotel Charlesworth on the Delaware Bay and Andreas in downtown Millville get the nod this year in addition to the first night pool party. Because of how the days fall for the public holiday and not having a weekend, Don's traditional sunset riverside BBQ won't be held this year. But don't worry he will be joining us at dinner along with some other NJMP Drivers Club members who you have met in prior years. The karting has been booked. Pool party has been organized. Wednesday afternoon pre-karting entertainment is moving forward. Event memo is drafted - just need Tom's expert eye to review my minglish. The last hurdle taking the time is the set up of the new custom registration website site for sign up and payment - TrackRabbit.com. Have people booked their accommodation? Need help finding your special place to stay?
  25. Doing this from memory, the forum members I am aware of in that area: Gbolt - Stalker spc_cwby - Caterham S3 chassis rx7locost - Locost Miatacarpc - Westfield (I think) I recall there being a bunch of Stalkers out that way - at least 3. Don't recall any Caterham SV around Illinois but likely would be somewhere - just not active on the forum.
