  1. Hang it from the ceiling and it becomes a depreciable asset like fixtures & fittings. However, it is a pretty long depreciation life. And I just bet the IRS would not like you taking it out for a spin. Anyway, you are in start up so a ton of tax losses being generated right now since you have no revenue - exactly why you need to sell the car to fund the up front costs.... So not a good financial idea. Better idea is to generate revenue quickly and keep the car! I hope you are putting the distillery inside an Inc or LLC structure?
  2. Come on Glen, buy it, you know you want it....
  3. Raced Adelaide Surfers Paradise Bathurst Symmons Plains Phillip Island Guia Track Day Silverstone Oulton Park Spa Francorchamps Nurburgring and soon to be Donnington at the end of May Driven Around Pikes Peak Isle of Man Top Gear Port Imperial (its next to me!) Le Mans Marina Bay I think I have done pretty well!:driving:
  4. Roman - Either tires would be fine. I would use the cheaper ones and save the super stickies for your autox when times matter.
  5. I just bought that image on a mounted metal plate for putting on my garage wall. Its fascinating to study and even more fun to check off the circuits that I have driven. So who has driven the most circuits? :cooldude:
  6. And a few other things Roman - you will almost certainly be running with other sevens in that green group too and its cheaper than most HPDE offered. So come on down and join in the fun.
  7. And what looks to be a Brunton Stalker for sale: http://www.dupontregistry.com/autos/Search/DRauSearchDetails.aspx?itemid=2181968 Interesting looking matt paint finish. Should handle well...
  8. Anybody up for an R500 in Ohio? I have no affiliation with this but it is here for $64990 http://www.dupontregistry.com/autos/Search/DRauSearchDetails.aspx?itemid=1916562 And a very similar looking car here in FL at a different price? http://www.dupontregistry.com/autos/Search/DRauSearchDetails.aspx?itemid=2140638 ETA - same car per VIN number but its cheaper on the Ohio location ad.
  9. Saw this on Hemmings and it looked decent value for what it is - a good intact project. http://www.hemmings.com/classifieds/carsforsale/lotus/caterham/1641442.html I could have posted it in for sale but I figure the audience is better here! :cooldude:
  10. Nahhhh...no chance of that. I wear socks in bed. I know, jealousy is such a difficult thing to swallow....
  11. I know it is not to your taste but that is actually a pretty incredible find. I have only ever seen period photos of what the factory hardtop looked like. To know that someone bought one and kept it all this time plus is in quite remarkable condition for anything that came from Lotus....wow! Steelboro were the manufacturers for Lotus in NZ. I don't think they are around today but they had a reputation for high quality unlike most UK manufactured Lotus products. Now we do make fun of the Lotus Seven S4 today. Its a bit like that uncle you had in the family. You know the one, the anachronistic dinosaur who was a refugee from the 1970s. A safari suit with the flared trousers, mutton chop whiskers, dandruff, paisley tie, epic comb over, always saying the word "groovy." Rikker, I know you have many more years of experience over me and I can just picture you like that. :jester: Back to the car. An S4 always works best in dark colors. A black one with gold pin striping a la JPS style looked really good. Even I would contemplate driving one of those. A dark green one with yellow stripe up for sale at Wirewheels a few years back also looked good. The 1970s burnt orange look I would give to Rikker to relive his 1970s glory days!
  12. Shaaaane....did you know the NJMP security guards do body cavity checks on dangerous characters that they get advance warning of? ....like you
  13. its actually fairly common to have kits sitting around unbuilt. I know where there is a 2006 kit still in its crate. 2012 kit maybe sold late 2013 and only finished building in 2014 - not unreasonable.
  14. I thought I posted this previously but was obviously having a senior moment... 2012 Caterham R300 with 5 miles on the clock at Chariots of Palm Beach at $50k (rounded up) http://www.chariotsofpb.com/Inventory/InventoryDetails/tabid/2245/company/CHARIOTS/vin/SDKLDK3NS11070411/Default.aspx While this is a Bentley and Morgan dealer and a very strange place to see a Caterham, I acquired my 2004 yellow Caterham SV roadsport through them in 2008. They are excellent to deal with, very reasonable in negotiations and very efficient. I would happily deal with them again. They are right next to Palm Beach FL airport so easy in and out. I have no affiliation or background on this particular Caterham though.
  15. Rikker - you and I dont always agree but I am with you 110% on this! :iagree:
  16. As a Croc I can say that I want to feed politicians to the sharks! :jester:
  17. Figures...he is an attorney! :willy_nilly:
  18. And it is baaaack! Listed with a Buy It Now of $28500 compared to the previous Ebay "sold" price from the earlier listing of $29000 http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lotus-Super-Seven-aluminum-1990-caterham-seven-super-lotus-7-original-1-870-miles-all-original-like-/321379536010?forcerrptr=true&hash=item4ad3b68c8a&item=321379536010&pt=US_Cars_Trucks
  19. Just sent a PM to Mario adding to what Tom sent above.
  20. I have an Arch chassis and it is clearly stamped next to the base of the passenger side roll bar. I have never seen any stamping near the pedal box although I have looked closely on my own car.
  21. Yes, its in front of me about to be overtaken and lapped!
  22. You are probably right on the exchange rates. I got an even better deal because the owner of the unassembled kit/engine/gearbox was a forced seller thanks to the "better half" - poor guy.:ack: As for another 310hp Caterham - there is one very close to me!
  23. It is gorgeous. It is just pristine. Immaculate. Like a brand new car yet to be sullied on a drive. It really is a work of art. So great....but what do you do with it? Its value in this Fleabay auction comes from either leaving it as a museum piece or starting to use it as intended. However, the moment you use it a delayed depreciation kicks in. What a difficult decision to make? Putting aside that, I do admire this car - truly remarkable time capsule.
  24. Its technically Thompson Speedway in CT but I have also heard people use the Thompson Raceway name to refer to it. http://www.thompsonspeedway.com
