  1. And one last one for people. Currently bid $2600. May be hard on the feet but light on the wallet for gas. Grip and handling in corners could be interesting... http://www.ebay.com/itm/Replica-Kit-Makes-Unknown-/291438911873?forcerrptr=true&hash=item43db1ce181&item=291438911873
  2. Does Texas have boom gates on its toll plazas? If not then stick it on the windscreen and be done with it. It it fails then rely on them taking a photo of your license plate and matching it in the database. I just hold my ezpass tag and wave it in the air when I reach the gates. It does not work even half the time on my daily driver SUV.
  3. Time for an update here. Some good cars out there right now for sale on this forum: $25k for a Fisher Fury $42k for Paul's CSR $17k for an interesting Westy $43k for a Superlight R What else is out there? 4. Using the link I posted earlier... SDK = Caterham as manufacturer L = LHD L = Long cockpit K = Kit built R = Generally race chassis but sometimes also referred to road chassis depending on year GS = 100bhp 1600 crossflow S = chassis year 95 0347700 = chassis number. Did you drop a digit as it should be 8 digits if it was a 90s era chassis? Thats its for your chassis. No package reference as it is a pre-2010 chassis.
  5. I prefer this chassis number guide since it gives you the possible alternatives. I think you have pulled in the first digit of the chassis VIN (digits 11 to 17) as Package 2 is a Series 3 kit. http://www.lotus7.club/guides/frequently-asked-questions/chassis-numbers-what-do-they-mean#h10
  6. LOL - How do I tactfully respond about choice of deodorant? :jester:
  7. Hi Paul Congratulations on the twins! You will feel better once the news has sunk in some more....I hope! You may want to edit your original ad as it says "no longer for sale" at the very top. Somehow this is inconsistent with the price chop so I assume you are really selling the car as you need to fund the cost of having 2 more screaming kids on the way! :ack: This is a real eye opening deal at $42k. Never seen a CSR that cheap before. Pity I am not in the market. Good luck with the sale Cheers mike
  8. Even I have made reservations at the Fairfield. While I now have a functioning garage I am pretty sure I will not be able to stay overnight there! Roman - I now have overnight storage for your car within a short walking distance of the pit suites at Thunderbolt.
  9. Its more embarrassing when you remember after you have sat down in the passenger seat...
  10.
  11. I know of one BDR seven over towards Michigan. I assume it came in as a kit and was built that way but I am not really sure. There is also a BDA Caterham that I last heard was in upstate NY but again not sure of its history. Also there is Sabbot's 80's era Caterham that started off as a crossflow but then one night he stole the BDA out of his Wife's Lotus Elan and gave her the crossflow. Then after deciding it did not have enough hp he upgraded it to a more "fruity" spec (I think it was BDD?). Amazingly they are still married!
  12. Randy - that is one road trip! Thumbs up for taking that one on. I will be looking forward to the photo blog on that. :cooldude:
  13. Mike - you do know this is a different Fisher Fury with a different drive train? Dermot's Fisher Fury went to the big garage in the sky and is no longer. That said I would love to see pics of this finished project too! :cooldude:
  14. Call me stupid (and plenty of people do!) but how hard can it be to get a radiator and nose cone for a Birkin? Tom Carlin should have them in stock?
  15. Is that you in the video Skip? I don't recall your beard being that long?
  16. Hi Fmorser, Thank you for posting. Sorry to hear about the back injury. One of my colleagues had all of that work done and he is none the worse for wear after a long recovery time so the eventual outcome for you should hopefully be as good. Unlike some, I am not a brand snob so a Locost 7 is a 7 in my eyes. In June 2011 we had Ottocycle's Hayabusa Fisher Fury (sadly no more) which went very well (sensational sounding car at full wail!). So your car should fit right in. Bring your sense of humor and you will find we are a fun crowd to hang out with. Hopefully you can get yourself recovered enough and give your 7 a decent pre-event preparation so that it will be reliable and safe for you and I am sure you will have a lot of people intrigued to know more about your bike engined car. I can send a sign up link out to you if you email sevensarefun@gmail.com NJMP does like to check new drivers out via a track experience resume to make sure they are eligible for going out in a passing group but it looks like you have some track experience so that helps. Cheers mike
  17. I agree with you Taber - I just don't see the resemblance however, the ad did say....
  18. Thanks Mike but it is still some ways to go. No high bay lights yet, missing light fittings, no bathrooms, no kitchenette, no memorabilia on the walls, no lift, no heating, probably no cooling, 2 x 17 foot doors that don't work, no sofa bed or other furniture, hell...there not even a fridge for beer!
  19. A Locost that has been seen on this thread before but has now migrated to Ebay. Should go for less than $10k http://www.ebay.com/itm/Other-Makes-track-car-/191552495521?forcerrptr=true&hash=item2c996b1fa1&item=191552495521 This is not a seven but it does have Caterham connections being the brainchild of Jez Coates after he left Caterham. Very interesting to browse. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Other-Makes-Zolfe-GTC-Prototype-004-/391095961200?forcerrptr=true&hash=item5b0f22c670&item=391095961200 Xcarguy's new Blakely Bearcat is back.... http://greenville.craigslist.org/cto/4943220162.html Not sure why a dealer in Oregon would advertise in South Florida but hey, I have had worse hangovers! Its the Arch chassis replica Series III back again at $32995 http://miami.craigslist.org/mdc/ctd/4971569571.html Lotus 211 at $58991 I am surprised that the price did not add a few pennies to be more precise! http://portland.craigslist.org/clc/ctd/4973904294.html Now here is a new one. And it has clams! But it is being advertised in Portland Oregon. It maybe a Locost but the photos do seem to show a fairly fastidious fitout. http://portland.craigslist.org/mlt/cto/4966530733.html OOOOOOOHHHH! I think I just had a personal moment. My favorite color of seven but on a Stalker. http://tampa.craigslist.org/pnl/cto/4971083174.html Standard Stalker craigslist ad: http://tampa.craigslist.org/pnl/cto/4970879603.html 2012 Caterham R400 with a high spec of equipment. Wish me luck!
  20. Really? From reading your posts on here I would have said you were using the right hand almost constantly. :spam:
  21. Personally I dont think that Ebay is a good medium for selling sevens. Highly marketable cars go well in the EBay format of a limited time auction. A seven needs extended time in the market to find the right buyer that is out there but may not be actively looking. IMHO a reasonable expectation for sale time frame is 1-3 months given the specialty nature of these cars unless you want to realistically deep discount for a super quick sale. You can not expect premium money and a quick sale together unless you are lucky. I have always thought that your best chance of sale is on this forum as a base given most buyers seem to migrate here eventually and then link with with an Ebay and/or Craigslist.
  22. I wish that were the case! But no I have been working on my garage project and proving that I manage a building project better than my general contractor who could not manage to get out of a wet paper bag. :bs: Move day needs to be April 18. :leaving: Anyway, if you were shopping for a seven you had all winter to make up your mind and buy one. How hard could it be! :seeya:
  23. Would you like a reliable Caterham to do laps in? Come on....you know you want to eat the forbidden fruit.....
  24. HIIIILLLLLLDA! You are needed in Arkansas. Someone who broke their back needs a ball busting!
  25. Damn that S1 shifts! Wow! Why were there not more of these put on track - a very accomplished track car. For the record Dave, where did you have the mic hiding? in the glovebox or under the seat or under the tonneau or somewhere else?
