  1. Dave - Thank you for giving me a kick up the butt with a reminder. I have got to allocate time to get it finished but it is daunting faced with 50 hours of video!

Hey Martin! Good to see you are still around. Hope you are doing well? :seeya: Cheers mike
  3. Found another seven in my wanders around the internet - bringatrailer posted it in the last 24 hours. http://bringatrailer.com/2015/01/17/project-racer-1962-lotus-super-seven/ 1962 Lotus seven at $32k http://bringatrailer.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/1962-Lotus-Super-Seven-Front.jpg
  4. Moose protection for you Jude? Hope you are having fun with the Caterham! :seeya:
  5. It could have been far worse. I typed and later deleted under the V6 Westfield that it was the world's fastest canoe. I actually demonstrated polite forum behavior by not posting it as I know you are a sensitive creature from the Pacific Northwest. I could have lumped you in with Caterham owners and called you a tool? If you are still upset then contact Xcarguy - he has a line on some Russians who give....mmmmm.....firm massages....
  6. Rikker - you are spot on with the Midget drive train comment. Thats what I recall. From an interview with Tiff Needell on TV once he made it clear that it was glacial at building up speed and the motto was never lift after that. So I guess they handled well as you threw them into corners on full throttle? I am not sure I like the bulge front and center. I prefer the clean bonnet look with out the power bulge. Then again there it does come with a seriously attractive twink which is worth serious money these days. But then as you said - did they upgrade the rest? Pity it is not closer otherwise I would definitely be turning up to drool over its looks and scam a test drive! I suspect its not just wipers that would cause 'entertainment' during registration. DOT marked windscreen and lights/reflectors is a popular request in many states.
  7. Yes and also who was the builder?
  8. :ack::puke: Calling an administrator to the forum - xcarguy needs disciplining for posting photos of .....errrrr...... Californians!
  9. Mario is on Ebay plugging his Seven grills http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lotus-Seven-Grille-Emblems-/171407070511?hash=item27e8a8552f&vxp=mtr Its not a car but hey it is seven related! AstroBob's M Spec Stalker in FL http://tallahassee.craigslist.org/cto/4832227021.html The San Fran Stalker with supercharged V6 http://sfbay.craigslist.org/nby/cto/4840439667.html One thing I have noticed when searching sevens the pop up ads for the various cars have a certain theme. For example, Caterhams usually get tool ads (like the owners?). Westfield have caravan ads (no comments or I will get banned!). Ultralite get trailer ads (makes sense there is a manufacturer of that name). But when looking for Stalkers the pop up ads are all for Russian mail order brides. I guess there is a reason for this? :spam: The Honolulu Birkin is still out there http://honolulu.craigslist.org/oah/cto/4831652080.html The "Katram" racer is back again. This is the fairly heavily modified seven that now reminds me of a circle track car albeit with enough ground clearance to be a dune buggy. Asking $3500. http://images.craigslist.org/00G0G_lI7nFTZ6N5Z_600x450.jpg http://charlotte.craigslist.org/cto/4816538070.html The blue street legal Locost with yamaha R1 engine is back at $9000. http://charlotte.craigslist.org/cto/4838883035.html A new Locost project has appeared. A McSorley plan seven. Seems fairly advanced. Zetec with a T5 transmission. Seems to have all the key bits. $5000 http://charlotte.craigslist.org/cto/4842198683.html Growing up as a kid in Oz I knew the term "berk" as a rather disparaging term for one being an idiot. Indeed it was applied to me frequently. So when I see an ad for a "Berkin" I am instantly understanding the mind of the potential buyer for this next car. This is a sad case - a burned "basket case" shell of a chassis and remnants of panels. I think it is too far gone for restoration at $4700 but someone may be on happier pills than me. http://phoenix.craigslist.org/evl/cto/4849793493.html I am trying to recall whose car this was? There was a person on the forum who lost their yellow Birkin out west with a fuel pipe leak or similar. Anyone jog my memory? There are still a bunch of cars from the end of last weeks ad post out there so no point repeating those. A Lotus Seven Series II SB1766 looking nicely immaculate asking $59,995 on Hemmings. http://www.hemmings.com/classifieds/dealer/lotus/super_seven/1707480.html Not much to work with in the next ad but sounds superbly bonkers! Is this more hp than the Seight version put out? http://www.hemmings.com/classifieds/carsforsale/lotus/westfield/1702388.html 1962 Lotus Seven with lovely family history. Been on this thread before but I guess it did not sell at $36500 http://www.hemmings.com/classifieds/carsforsale/lotus/super_seven/1684889.html 2000 Caterham Zetec in San Francisco. Repeat car to this thread by the same dealer selling. Asking $32,995 http://www.hemmings.com/classifieds/dealer/lotus/caterham/1678738.html A Lotus Seven being offered by Mr Wayne Carini of F40 Motorsports. Been for sale for eons by my (quite possibly faulty) recollection. Should be a good for a mass debate on this forum at its offering price of $49500. http://www.hemmings.com/classifieds/dealer/lotus/super_seven/1571604.html Skip (Scannon) of this forum has generously offered his negotiation skills to get the price down if someone gives him money to play with! And the last car is not a seven but it is worthy of having a look at - a Westfield Lotus 11 in CA at $27750. It has the best aero position for a license plate I have seen before. Not sure about the hood bubble to clear the twink engine? Don't recall the originals having those? http://assets.hemmings.com/uimage/33682573-770-0@2X.jpg?rev=1 http://www.hemmings.com/classifieds/dealer/lotus/xi/1658012.html I would not mind checking this one out in person myself although I am NOT allowed to buy another car.... Thats all I found from a casual look. Any others people have seen from different sources?
  10. mmmmm......I love an engine porn thread in the mornings!
  11. Top right of a persons post Paul. I can see Jerry is St Louis MO
  12. For Caterham Parts I go to Redline like Twobones. I also use Car Builder Solutions to work out what I am looking for then try to source it locally in the US through McMasterCarr or similar. CBS is here http://www.carbuildersolutions.com/uk/ Moss Motors has also helped me out from time to time http://www.mossmotors.com
  13. Ok trying again without deleting everything :banghead: On Fleabay there is this CSR for sale from Kampena Motors. Been seen on this thread dare I say months. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Other-Makes-Caterham-CSR-2-door-Caterham-Super-7-CSR-/121540437595?forcerrptr=true&hash=item1c4c5fe65b&item=121540437595&pt=US_Cars_Trucks 5 bids now at $25k. He is asking for $76500 if you look at this Craigslist ad. I don't think this is out of the park unreasonable given his costs and it is a CSR spec. I bet you could not replicate it under the new pricing deals Caterham USA has. http://sfbay.craigslist.org/nby/cto/4831206906.html Kampena Motors seems to have a few others in addition to this CSR. They are here: 1984 Crossflow RHD $24500 http://sfbay.craigslist.org/nby/cto/4831206107.html 2001 Zetec with 500 miles $38500 http://sfbay.craigslist.org/nby/cto/4831207302.html A Yamaha R1 engined/tranny Locost. Quaife reverse box installed which makes it rare for a bike engined car. Bidding starts at $7k with no bids. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lotus-Super-Seven-Custom-Lotus-7-Locost-7-Super-Seven-with-Yamaha-R1-Power-/191476807999?forcerrptr=true&hash=item2c94e8393f&item=191476807999&pt=US_Cars_Trucks Back again is a 2003 Caterham Superlight R at $48500. Strong spec car. http://sfbay.craigslist.org/nby/cto/4831206462.html A new one this week is a Brunton Stalker with SC V6. Looks like a keen autocrosser from the photos and appears well built and set up. http://images.craigslist.org/00A0A_k0PkrIDxkQF_600x450.jpg http://sfbay.craigslist.org/nby/cto/4840439667.html Asking $31500 in San Francisco area. Usual early seven clone in Alabama at $5450. Seems strong for a chassis that is still just a clone. http://huntsville.craigslist.org/cto/4780064928.html The Hawaii Birkin with Miata drive train is back again at $19000 but still no photos to help along the ad. http://honolulu.craigslist.org/oah/cto/4831652080.html AstroBoy's 2012 Brunton Stalker M Spec with LS engine in a fetching shade of blue. http://images.craigslist.org/00U0U_cSc4DuIEiGm_600x450.jpg Asking $31500 http://tallahassee.craigslist.org/cto/4832227021.html Anyone doing a Locost seven project and need a donor? This may work - $700 for a beaten up 1992 Miata in Mary Land. http://frederick.craigslist.org/cto/4822931638.html Andy's Westfield Seight has reappeared on Autotrader Classics with a commercial seller now seeking $28000 http://www.autotraderclassics.com/find/vehicle/vehicleDetail.xhtml?adId=1905185 Canadian RM Super Seven with MG Midget power Asking C$12900 http://classiccars.com/listings/view/595614/1964-lotus-super-seven-for-sale-in-windsor-ontario-canada-n9g1y5 CMC Locost 1982 with Corolla power $13995 http://classiccars.com/listings/view/605738/1982-lotus-seven-for-sale-in-montgomery-alabama-36117 Older Caterham crossflow in CA asking $31500. RHD ex-English, ex-Japan car. http://www.anamera.com/en/detail/car/310488/index.html?no_cache=1&ret=63 Ok thats what I have found. Anybody been better and found others?
  14. Wise man your friend. Call me a friend but I suggest you lay off the red pills and pornography!
  15. Well I had a post ready to go but deleted it by mistake. Since I am now officially grumpy I will try again tomorrow. :banghead::bs::rant:
  16. Well is that a coincidence or what - I found a 2012 Brunton Stalker for sale! Car looks attractive - pity about the seller! The ad category on Craigslist says it is a "sub-compact" which cannot be true for a Stalker! The seller is asking $31500. To contact him follow the link to Craigslist and email him. http://tallahassee.craigslist.org/cto/4832227021.html No affiliation or connection to me at all. Just reposting to help out potential buyers looking to spend their money on a nice seven.
  17. ahhh Bob - you had inside knowledge to out-trick me! The reason you cannot create a new thread is because you are not a fully paid up member. At least thats what I think it is but an administrator will be along soon enough if you rubbish Westfields! You can always put an ad on Craigslist and I accidentally "find it" and link it here.
  18. Well look what turned up for sale this week - I bet this is the same Birkin we discussed above. http://honolulu.craigslist.org/oah/cto/4831652080.html Asking $19000 If the original poster wants photos maybe contact the seller and ask nicely to get some photos of the critical installation aspects.
  19. So I am back home to cold, miserable, wet weather... :no pity: Oh well...car browsing time! Here is a Locost 7 on Fleabay in GA. Unfinished project. Toyota engine. Starting bid $12750 http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lotus-Other-Lotus-Seven-7-/191470442841?forcerrptr=true&hash=item2c94871959&item=191470442841&pt=US_Cars_Trucks Another Locost Seven but in SC. Looks close enough to a seven to qualify for inclusion here. Just add whiskers to the nose and mother catfish would love it. Still on original MSO despite being a 1999. Virtually no mileage (2500m odd). Says it was in a private collection all this time. 281cu V8 so should go. Asks strong money of $70k odd buy it now. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Other-Makes-AIV-1999-panoz-roadster-brand-new-untitled-on-orginal-factory-mso-last-known-/161544970725?forcerrptr=true&hash=item259cd4a1e5&item=161544970725&pt=US_Cars_Trucks Great so what do you do with a showroom queen like this? You drive it and spoil the value from being showroom perfect or do you tuck it away in a collection as a dust collector? 1964 RM Super Seven for sale in Canada. 20. What is the Westfield Fabricator's Creed? 'Our Lord who art in fiberglass...'
  21. I recommend this company too from my use of their products - really flexible products for mounting cameras, shift lights, computers, phones, GPS, track computers, etc.
  22. Come on Tom - How about you and Kathy join us wine tasting the Rhone River on a river cruise in August 2015? There is a nice cabin free and Beth is also booked on. I will pay for the first glass of wine! The "special tours" are planned for Paris and Nice, France.
  23. Sean - Are you Monterey area? I am there the week of April 27- May 1 (to be confirmed) staying on Pebble Beach property for work (stop laughing people..:nopity:.). Knowing how the meetings work, Monday afternoon/night, Thursday afternoon/night would be the best options out of that week. I will have wheels so can drive off property easily. Trust me - I will be very happy to escape for a break.
  24. Who me? :jester: Happy New Year everybody!
