At least I have to leave the house. I walk or drive 4 blocks to my office. It takes me 6 minutes to walk or ten minutes to drive and find a parking space. That is if I don't catch the one red light on the ride in.

MichaelD replied to lucky dawg's topic in General Sevens Discussion
Oops. For more on Summit Point in June visit the Events Mid Atlantic thread. Sevens Committed to HYPERFEST at Summit Point June 16,17 2012 a NASA Mid Atlantic weekend. Will you be there to join us? All level drivers invited for HPDE 1, HPDE 2, HPDE 3 and Time Trials. Should cost about $365 for two track days with about 8,500 of your closest strangers as spectators. Dancing girls, roll over contests, go carts and more after dark. Stay at the Hampton Inn in Winchester on Berryville Road about 12 miles from the track for $70 and night and a nice pool. Or camp for free at the track. Register asap when registration is open on http://www.nasaracing.net/ . Get your room ASAP also. Commited drivers: Michael Dougherty, Folis Jones, Russ Strough, George Hillard, Jeff Duncan, Scott Lentz, Karl COME ON OUT AND HAVE SOME FUN - with the guys from NJMP we should be able to get 17 to 20 Sevens on the track. __________________ Michael D. -

Croc Are you going to sign up for Hyperfest at Summit Point in June? Karl has. -
Great photos. Where was they taken?
-
I beleive Summit Point caps it at 35 cars on track at one time. If we all sign up as soon as registration opens, we can all siign up for HPDE 3. George seems happy in HPDE 2. That said, Hyperfest sellsout fast. Yes there is a circus element that comes with the drifter crowd in the spectators. So Tom, when are you registering at the Hampden Inn?
-
For room reservations at the Hampton Inn on Berryville road in Berryvill call 540-678-4000. Ask for the Summit Point Event rate of $76 per nite. That includes breakfast. Two registered so far. Folis stays in his mobile home. Russ sleeps in his trailer.

Karl are you really In? Great! Call Hampton inn on Berryville road now for your room. Everyone will have to become a NASA member (if you are not already) $45 a year. Join your own area. NE, Mid Atlantic, etc. I spoke wirh the chief insructor for NASA Mid Atlantic today. He will consider each new driver on a individual basis. If you have previoud track experience that places you in HPDE 3 you will likely be placed there. If not you may be placed in HPDE 2. Whatever level you are placed in, it is subject to your driving at thhat level. If not you could be moved to a lower level. My experience is they are safety first yet fair. I have driven with many of you at NJMP and all of those drivers would be fine in NASA HPDE 3. How about the rest of you? Follow Karl. What else could be more fun that weekend?

What is Hyperfest? Please visit http://www.hyper-fest.com/ Do the dancing girls ride with you? That is up to you. I bet they get more than one offer. Please visit: http://www.hyper-fest.com/?page_id=376 Instructors in Level One and a one seater - you may have to defer to Folis Jones since he is an instructor. I will pass it on to him.

Careful. Running non DOT approved tires in Time Attack will remove you from a street class. It may move you into a class that requires a full fire suit as well as additional safety features required on your car. I found that out the hard way wen I arrived with A6s instead of Toyo R1s. That said, A6s provide great traction and wear well for the track while Hoosier or Goodyear Bias slicks work very well for autocross.

Wow is right ! I want one for my car. More specs and pics please. :-)

Great shots and commentary. My favorite is the freight train photo. What would be fun is a 7s lead and follow. Form a train of evens. After each lap, the lead car drops to the rear and the second car chooses the line and e for the others to follow. We keep lapping until every one has had a chance to lead. ... Maybe we could let Mike set this on out. Just kidding Mike. I think we could get enough Sevens involved to be all Sevens for the weekend. We got 77 Sevens for the Tail of the Dragon in '07 Tom, can you get some dates and prices from the track? Once we have that we can start promoting. Will they allow camping at the track for those that drive a long distance with campers or even tents? This can influence a good number of drivers. Later in June, early July (WARMER) may be better than earlier. I think I can get Russ Strough, Folis Jones, Dermot McDermot, Norm Beaver and George Hillard. With enough notice. I might even get a few Stalkers. A SEVENS BLAST ON TWO NATIONALLY RECOGNIZED TRACKS IN ONE WEEKEND! That would be hard to turn down. How much do they need to guarantee the track? I am always good for the first two weeks of July while I am Batching it. Count me in.

Porsches are generally fun to run with although some do not like being passed by a pesky kit car ;-) Shelby Cobra replicas (Not Mustang Cobras) would be a good group to alternat heats with. How about BMW Club? See you in 5 months?
-
Sorry I missed it. Moving into a new office. Good to hear there were no major incidents. New brakes for the Birkin? See you all next year. What's the first warmish track day Tom?
