  1. A 225-45-15 street tire will fit a 9" wide wheel very well. Even the "clubman" trackday tires, NT01/R888/RA1/A048, will be fine with that sidewall on the wheel. The Hankook RS3 and BFG Rival have been showing similar performance despite the difference in treadwear rating.
  2. Awesome. Before you know it, you'll be the one who wants to sleep in.
  3. That's not a bad day shampoo. 90w-140 is. That and brake fluid.
  4. Don't worry Mike, no one will confuse the both of you. I figure that car will be polished quite a bit.
  5. Drive the extra hour to Lincoln!
  6. wtf is this? :auto:
  7. Been thru Manhatten a bunch of times in my 7. Last was last summer, but only from the GW down the FDR Drive to the Triboro Bridge. Didn't enjoy the perpetual contruction along LaGuardia Airport on the Grand Central Pkwy, thankfully teh final paving should be finished in the next few weeks. Last time thru Manhatten's streets was returning from the NeDiv autoX on a late Sunday afternoon last spring. Weekend's worth of crap in the car including a large bicycle strapped to the rollbar. The horrible road conditions were really the bother. I'd rather be in a 4 wheeled vehicle with the bumps, holes, and dips than a bike. I drove down Broadway w/ Al in Orange a nmber years ago when he let a friend display it in a shop downtown. I have some videos online somewhere. I'd rather be driving on a highway than on the street. Traffic flow in a singlar direction. Road debris, like blown out tires, becomes a bigger issue. I can out accelerate and out brake nearly anything else and w/o a top i have awesome visibilty in the 7. I also toss some bright yellow rollbar padding on the top of the roll bar and drive with the lights on.
  8. Sequential transmission or still the Cat 6 Speed? Agreed on the new dash switches. Definitely seems a car where the Stack dash would be at home on.
  9. Shake down for PPIHC, which was the following weekend.

  11. Looks a lot like a Dutton clone.
  12. The road used is not actually part of the (Tail of the) Dragon, it is another road in a park in Santeelah iirc. Absolutely love CCR's inflatable at the start. Been lusting for one like that for my region for a couple of years since they got theirs. Great driving Klasic Mike. Did Heikki or Bowland attend last weekend?
  13. Time for the tow rig, and let Del dream up something for your autoX needs. Maybe even keep the Elise for puttering around on the street?
  14. Unfortunately I won't be able to make the drive this weekend.
  15. Ford Contour gets u the engine bits for the most part.
  16. It's been better the last few years. Last year was the first year I could more than a few races in well over a decade.
  17. ummmm, no. :banghead:
  18. I don't know if Philly will be hosting one of SCCA's StartingLine events. The cost includes a new helmet(open or closed face) among a bunch of other stuff. Their website FUBAR'd at the moment, but they have an active Facebook group so they can point you in the direction of where helmets are in the area.
  19. Hey, Karl, you wouldn't have happened to have a full factory hood for the SV laying around would you?
  20. If Jeff U. still had his R1 LoCost it could the Red Neck w/ the import. The Organic Racing se7en would be interesting
  21. TRSS has nothing to do w/ Skippy.
  22. The American Iron and Good Guys cars are no joke. Seriously fast hardware for large solid axle cars. It is a shame that the show is presented in the format it is and w/ the comedien as host. I don't take any of it seriously. I just wish the Detroit steel drivers would not always blow the first turn.
  23. Just looked at the 997/991 GT3 Cup and RSRs. They are all sequential dogboxes now. I know a couple of the local 996/997 GT3s from the autoX regulars are still manuals. probably the 997.2 made the switchover.
  24. Curious on the rear mechanicals of the Elio. Might make a nice commuter. I won't need power locks in 1 seater. Duh. A reverse will be the make and break of it.
  25. enjoy Al. I do think this will be a month long trip. I think you should be prepared and bring a laptop and car & solar chargers.
