Sorry to hear of the latest setback Skip. don't consider selling anything yet. The first course of action is rehabing 1 shoulder before the other can be repaired.
  3. Safety/risk management issues due to the front wheels. I had issues a couple of years ago w/ going to a HPDE thats was run by MoHud SCCA/Patroon BMWCCA because of the basic Caterham rollbar not being tall enough for me. SCCA is more concerned w/ getting you home safe. Outrigger wheels vs a late model heavy powerful car with inexperienced drivers in one or both has a non-negliable chance of ending badly if something came together. Which of us is going to a HDPE with head and neck safety gear? so stick w/ what works. SCDA has been very supportive.
  4. kuhmo XS or Dunlop Direzza StarSpec are also good street tyres. I would really stick to the RA1, R888 or Advan AD048. The baby r comps really suit the lightweight se7ens.

    Audi 7

An Audi based se7en is nice Donkervoot. that urban concept makes me want to punch babies. Cute babies even. for a city car, why would i design something with so much dead space to its exterior dimensions like a se7en has. And modern engines have some much ancillary crap on them that the engine bay needs all the space it get. Looks like it would make an awesome water taxi, though.
  6. yeah, that Greay se7en w/ the 38s out back looked awesome. oh yeah, tractor...:ack:
  7. Awesome work done today in D and E mod. Scott Minehart is in 4th place in E Mod, in his street legal Super Stalker. D mod has a bunch of se7ens this year. Norm Beaver and Scott Lentz are currently in th trophies and Chuck Spera is in the hunt if he can have a great 2nd day. live audio of the announcers from both courses. http://scca.org/eventitems.aspx?item=412&event=17058&hub=3
  8. if your on 15 or 16" wheels, the ecsta XS would be fine for street driving. 'Cept for when its wet. If you can keep the tyres from going below 40*F/4*C, a tyre like the Toyo r888 or Yokohama A048 are really great for a light car on the street like a 7.
  9. 01 SE owner since last fall.
  10. leaving work in about a half hour. Luckily they have closed up shop from 3pm today till 7pm tomorrow, so i won't need to be back till Monday morning. I'll be calling on monday to find out when the adjuster will be in my neighborhood. I'm curious if teh course of eye doesn't start running more inland than the projections over the next few hours.
  11. looks like some fine blatting.
  12. Find John Vitamas who is active in WDC region SCCA. He has started playing with a 2nd gen RX7 last year. He may know a good shop or have other info that help you keep the upkeep on the mazda bits under control.
  13. there are pressure clips that fit over the windshield frame.
  14. My thoughts. I'm actually suspecting a failed fuel pump as the culprit. jump right to the deep end.
  15. A fried uses the EVO HD unit. Its on teh shot list of units to consider as the tethered cam allows it to be mounted to a helmet w/ minimal fuss or to the roll bar. The larger integrated screen on the base unit s a plus too.
  16. forgot about this. i was just up the road in Romulus this weekend.
  17. It's at Autosport, I guess I should go over sit in it and make vroom vroom sounds. Should be more affordable after that.
  18. you will adopt me and I will sleep in them.
  19. +1 internetz for u. There are many different clubs to autoX with in your area if your lucky. I think I am since I have 2 SCCA , 2 BMWCCA. 2 PCA and 1 NASA region within a 1/2 hour drive in the morning. Plus a couple of other local unaffiliated other clubs. So you go to an autoX. You woke up early on a weekend. You won't be home til the late afternoon. If you live close by to a site and you are not one of the volunteers that help an event run. Otherwise you do not live near the site or are one of the volunteers which the event depends on to run. Then you wake up a o'dark:30 and will be home late. So why did you go? To have fun. Did you enjoy driving your car hard? did you like the people there? Did you earn a $2-5 dollar trophy that not autoX people will think is crap? if 2 of 3 are answered NO, then your not coming back. It's a waste of your time. Even a single NO is enough for people to go do something else on a nice weekend day. Do you enjoy driving your car hard? If you don't then maybe you do car shows or you consider a car to be in the same league as a disher washer or air conditioner. Do you like the people there? This is make or break for the day for most people. Someone at an autoX spends most of the day not driving. Can you enjoy yourself? If not, road racing and HPDEs are what coming your way hopefully. But the people who stick around autoXs for any length of time have a competetive streak in them. So they will drive hard, and want to drive faster than YOU. Trophy time. Do you really need a class to win a trophy to make the day worthwile. That's the crux of on whether a person will come back to another autoX. If you like autoXing, you'll autoX nearly anything. The rules arguement I find to be BS. Either someone has prepped there car to what they want so it's fun for them, or they will prep the car to the rules.
  20. VW has been the donor for many homebuilts and kit cars for decades. It a legit question. Don't be offended.
  21. yeah, real cheap to own... hard top, side latches, frankenstein bolts, cargo net, car cover, hard top hoist. front sway bar, 3 sets of extra wheels, R comps, hitch, tyre trailer. And I wanted something minimal up keep to own. I think I'll have the 15x9s and coilovers by the end of the month. Can't guarantee the header back exhaust in that time frame... Staying put just doesn't work for us.
  22. I wanted Rowan Atkinson/ Black Adder and it gave Mr Bean.
  23. Oh boy. I hope the local magistrate doesn't enforce a gag order till whatever happens gets resolved.:svengo::toetap05:
  24. You gardeners are offense to my meheecan heritage. I can hit a cone(s) with any side of my 7. Even one I don't see.:svengo:
