  1. throw motec into the list of EXPENSIVE.
  2. fly in and rent a van. done. a road trip with se7eners may have to have an additional time frame built into it. "dude thats a pretty sweet track. u ever drive on that?" "no" "we got some time, u sure u want to drive right by that and experience it?" "ummm...nope!" "ok, sooooo we're gonna use the rental econoline or should we find another car?" "....BOTH" next thing u know there's a Bright yellow Uhaul and an 8 month old hyundai accent or Mercury grand marquis with 30,000 miles and no oil changes waiting in grid ready to go.
  3. ur nuts. oh wait, its me talking:lol:
  4. and 5th and 6th latch or clip on the body to the bonnet. u could even put a latch on the nose or scuttle to the hood.
  5. just in time to get ready for SB100 too!
  6. yah, could u do a small stand up or magic routine? even a snow globe...
  7. spoke to cousins last week at a family get together about 2009. i'm set for Indiana and So Cal
  8. my fronts looked like teh right tyre when i got bck from TotD. both insides scrubbed to the wear bar. i thought it was really bad camber, but when i had the car align in september it was in spec. slightly more than your values. if it tracks straight on a non canted road, ur thrust angle/cross toe is fine. if u look at any of my pictures it looks like my fronts run ~4-6 degree of camber but its just slighly more than 1 degree. rotate ur tyres more frequently and be prepared to have them swapped sides every other year or so to maximize their lifetime.
  9. awesome:cheers:
  10. 260mm 4pot setup anyone in the US using this setup? i see a few mentions of this manufacturer on blatchat, with hit and miss results. Misses were back from the original introduction and they see to be better now. Their kits seem to stay with a solid rotor while the Alcon and AP calipers both use vented rotors. the HiSpec stuff also uses dust seals on the brakes as the others do not.
  11. http://www.rmsci.com/partspics/OMPOD-1972-R.jpg RMSCI says they sell these..hmmmm...
  12. caterham offers teh steering column for quick relese. i forget if the QR hub and hardware are included. cat UK online store has them both

it didn't look as if he was in possesion of a lot more power, definitely not r500 level vs academy, so maybe an r300 level makes sense. it does look like he takes turns and then brakes much later so does he have a different brake setup and differnent tyres? theres a section in teh end where he seems to be going flat out and its taking him longer to catch up to that last car so i don't beleive he is driving and overdog so to speak.
  14. found on another forum. don't know if this in the ToTD threads. here
  15. from another forum for those of u interested RP sticker
  16. depends on what u want. I think those of us who have seen Norm Beaver's trailer are pretty blown away by it. He said it was originally an open aluminium trailer that he had some fabricator make an enclosure for. 3 large aluminium pieces that fit over his 7 and give it a low profile, the rear 2 are hinged togetherso the rear piece flips open on top of the center piece.
  17. know a bunch of people who have. they are R comps, so they are dangerous in the rain. but they shoudl last quite a while and will stick like glue when the roads are dry. also so cold storage issues (compound hardens/cracks) if left at freezing temps or below. if these are something u can't plan around, u may want to stay with the Azenis line or other high performance road tyre. Since u like running 14" these are an option.
  18. steve, kumho v710's are on closeout from tirerack in 14" sizes.
  19. Scott, did the fastners actually break? did the rear of the bonnet always look like it sat above teh scuttle?
  20. the current standard for radial road race tyres is teh Hoosier R6. Grassroots motosports had an issue a few month back and they had an untested i dea that the hankook z214 would do well on a lighter car like a miata. their test subject was a WRX wagon. I know a local autoXer using the z214 on his z3, he likes them. I know a bunch using the v710s, they are unwilling to commit to several sets of hoosiers per year. V710s in 14" are on closeout at tirerack. Attn steveT! look into the SCCA D/E mod yahoo group. there's a nice thread thats active right now concerning camber angles and has someinfo air pressures regarding bias tyres. from the guys who did my alignment, as little camber as possible is desirable and when i spoke to caterham usa (cody iirc) his advice and experience was to stay low with the camber, close to book tolerances, and go a little more on castor if possible. my opinion is traction is traction and wider is better.
  21. hopefully it will be coming to a LOG near u i was gonna toss a bid of 300 in but not that it would have made a difference.
