  1. .......... but I did come back from the UK last week with a suitcase of Crossflow and Caterham parts!
  2. Hi. I owned a Westfield and although not a pre lit. I rebuilt the whole thing from front to back to may be able to assist if you have any specific questions. Another great resource is the WSCC Boardroom forum in the UK. I am sure you will find answers there.
  3. Interesting thread as I am about to do a winter refresh on my Crossflow block. It is currently 'Ford' blue (actually a Raceline block) but I am repainting to Grey. Here is a link to my the Crossflow block in my previous car that was repainted Grey before rebuilding. BTW, it was an all steel, full race engine. Beautiful! http://www.rattracing.co.uk/images/crossflow.jpg
  4. Thanks for the advice. New helmet on the shopping list. I have plenty of racing experience in the UK that can be evidenced if required and would prefer not to get stuck in a starter group if possible. BTW, I still interpret 'long pants' as boxers rather than briefs! Won't take that thought any further though...
  5. Thanks. That is useful. Of course to really enjoy means getting the car mechanically perfect so plenty do this winter. Other than seeing the events posted here, is there a last to get on? Martin
  6. I have a relative who works at Newark port so does not need to be an issue. (:
  7. I plan to do the track days at NJMP next year but are there any specific regulations published as far as safety and car mods required? I have all my race gear to current standards although helmet is SA2000. I am planning a few car mods over the winter anyway including a full setup and repeating some mods I did to my race Westfield in the UK. Seats don't have headrests yet either so hat needs doing. Anything specific I should be doing? Couple of UK trips coming so opportunities to bring back parts.
  8. http://www.nhtsa.gov/cars/rules/import/. Sorry, too quick. Here is the link. Meant to say also lists cars eligible for importing.
  9. Just found the link. Also lists cars
  10. I did read up a bit on this and providing the car was made as a race car and has a manufacturers certificate stating that, the is a good chance it would be OK. If a road car converted and less than 25 years then probably not. I know sevens do not count as race cars but y are talking single seater type then maybe. As you say, just wait another year!

    True Story

Was she called Sheila by any chance?
  12. Also out today. Probably the final time but said that a month ago! Would have headed New Hope way if known. Freehold area.
  13. Spent yesterday putting on new calipers! Rotors, bleeding etc ready for the weekend. At least had a short run to bed them in a bit. Maybe the last if this keeps up! Still planning on the Lutus run next weekend if weather is any better though!
  14. Adjusting the ride height also has an impact on other geometry items such as tracking, camber and bump steer. Unless you are doing track work, you may not notice but generally should all be checked after setting the ride height. I remember from my Westfield, the ride height was set so the bottom wishbones parallel with the ground.
  15. Certainly up for that. A few things to fix on the car first when back from two weeks of work travel but hopefully will get sorted. In the calendar anyway!
  16. What is the magical bleeding tool you speak of? Need to replace fluid so looking for something other than piece of pipe and a helper.
  17. Thanks. I will look for a rebuilder and parts. I know where to go in the UK for these so could wait until my next trip but still want to get out in the car before the winter!
  18. This sounds good. Not too far from me so it is in the diary! Let's hope for great weather.
  19. The end fell off! The cover/bush on the end of the starter motor popped out and now stuck on with Duct tape so need to get a new one. Any suppliers recommended? Was thinking about a high gear motor if I got new unless anyone has a standard one going spare. It is for Ford Crossflow.
  20. The Goodridge hoses are great too. Either off the shelf or get them made. Not sure where in NJ as I used to live a few miles from their factory in the UK so had flexible hoses throughout the car. Looked great and totally reliable. I believe they do coloured stainless too! Most F1 cars use Goodridge hoses.
  21. The CVH engine was used in FWD escorts and possibly Fiesta in the UK. 130bhp seems optimistic to be honest and not a very tunable unit.
  22. http://www.tvrccna.org/userfiles/WOODWORKFLYER2011.pdf Details here for an event in NJ. May go Saturday. Anyone else planning?
  23. Upgrading to the Outlaw M-16 would be great although I guess that also means upgrading the Master Cylinder. Been through some of that pain before on a Westfield. Te results was great after I also replaced the pedal box to change the brake force ratios. Solid as a rock! This time looking for a simple fix - although still tempted by the Outlaws....
