Steve: I have the same disease & have been monitoring NJMP for 10 days:). As you know, sometimes there is a 40% chance, sometimes zero.I had a track day scheduled last weekend. Rain chance was 40% Friday, 100% Sat/Sunday-this on Thursday eve. In reality: One shower Friday a.m, then dry all weekend:).

. . . . . the Devil turn. So you just braked earlier, and slowed down before the one in the Devil

Tom,

What in the 'devil' is all this 'brake early' nonsense? . . . . I didn't think you braked at all! :jester:

Hi Shane, we were on the Thunderbolt track yesterday. There is a turn complex that is called the Jersey Devil, in reference to a mythical creature that inhabits the Jersey Pine Barren Region. It's a nice complex of turns that are well suited to our cars catching the straight line speed guys. Even you would have to brake hard :jester: Tom

Less than 5 days now till we get together once again. Can't wait. I left the Orange car at Croc's garage last week, Hopefully I'll get a chance to clean it up a bit on Friday before everyone starts to arrive. I just lowered the Yellow one down off the lift and switched over from the street Windscreen to the Brooklands. I still love the look of the Clams!

My wife "asked" if I was putting a For Sale sign on it. Now why would anyone think 2 Caterhams is too many??? :ack: So if you see a For Sale sign on it, you'll know why.

I know BBall77756 has his car polished to a brilliant shine because he just won 1st place at a local car show. So For those of you that are coming, get polishing. You don't want to be embarrassed by Steve's blindingly shiny Caterham.

See you all soon. Tom

CAUTION

Driving behind Steve when you are driving away from the sun can cause temporary blindness.

Tom, I heard it said that Sevens are like dogs and cats. They need company. When I told Karen she said OK lets get a dog. That's why we bring Buddy.

For anyone arriving early on Friday and finding no intelligent life in the Lightning pits then chances are that we are at the Garage Mahal which is the building past the villas/townhouses heading towards the Thunderbolt Circuit. Look for garage numbered "7" on the door.

For those karting, we are starting at 3pm. Bring your helmet, neck donut, gloves, driving suit or they can give it to you at the karting center at the back of the lightning pits. If you are lost or uncertain or have not read the materials in your sign up email then please call my cell phone - number is in the attachments in your sign up email.

For those not karting then we see you at the pool at the NJMP clubhouse at 6pm (or earlier if you need a cocktail!),

Looking forward to seeing you all on Friday (or Saturday if you arrive then)! :seeya:

Greetings everyone

well.. sad news on my side, unfortunately my wife's Grandmother just passed away and the funeral is on Friday. I will probably miss the go-kart event and Friday activities (Tom, there you go, you won't have to fight too much to get in front anymore..). I'll see what I can do to join the gang on Saturday and or Sunday (day trip from CT) but all depends on the moral at home and how my wife's mom and the rest of the family are holding up. Terrible timing I know ... and sorry I will most probably miss the bulk of the fun but have to take care of the family. Let's see how things play out. I will keep you updated.

talk soon

PS: I have new 13" Apollo rim and ZZR tires and just switched to aersocreen.. the car looks great!

My condolences for the family. At times like this you have to look after the family first. I hope you can make some of the event but it is understandable if you cannot.

Tom/Croc:

Refresh my memory, is there paperwork, releases, car tech sheet or other forms we are supposed to complete ahead of time, or is all done on site Saturday a.m.? Will there be any tech inspections Friday and if so when/where? I know Saturday a.m is scheduled for tech/drivers meeting, etc., but that seems like a lot to squeeze into a small time fame. I am sure this is all plainly stated somewhere but with my creeping senility, it has escaped my attention or been lost/forgotten.

Mike, I take it that the car is almost ready??? When you get to the main gate, you will sign a waiver. Tech and Breakfast will begin at 8am and continue to 9am when the drivers meeting will begin. When you get there on Saturday morning, you will sign in with Carolyn Watson in the classroom, get your wristband and then go get your car teched.

No forms required, they will put a sticker on your cage when complete. Bring your car and helmet or if we can convince them to come over and do all the sevens at once we will.

Most of the Members do an annual tech, so we just need to have our logbooks stamped. So it does go quickly. Just remember that this tech is not a true mechanical certification of your car's track worthiness. You are responsible to make sure it is in top shape. It's your butt out there. So don't cut corners!!!

Tom:

I have been promised the car will be done today. As you know tho, anytime the engine and transmission are pulled and clutch assembly replaced, there can be unintended issues. But I am hopeful, and am planning on being there for karting on Friday, if all goes well.

Mike

Well, The fun has begun. Croc and I spent the morning washing cars and faffing around his garage. S1 Steve rolled in about noon and BBall7756 made good time coming from St.Louis and after a few laughs, we headed over to the Lightning circuit and timed it perfectly, meeting Michael D, Scott L and Norm B. coming in the entrance. Then it was one after another. TBox56, made it in from west of Denver looking good. Kitcat, Roman, DaveD, Dave Hutchison and son, and then FE07, Paul M, and Fred with his BEC Locost. SABBOT and family joined in on the fun to.

We Headed over for some spirited Karting, and Yes there was some Carnage. The new Karts were nice and the competition was fierce. The trophies this year were specially made for our event. Hopefully someone will be along shortly to post a picture or two.

Dinner at the clubhouse pool deck was very relaxing and a great chance for everyone to socialize.

Early start tomorrow. 7am tech and breakfast. 8 am drivers meeting and a group photo for the Se7ens on track at 8:30am. A few more cars and drivers are expected to arrive in the morning. We just added our 20th Driver with Len Clark in his SV Caterham joining us on Sunday. Smack talk is subdued right now, but just wait until tomorrow!:driving:
