The Baby 7 on the Autocross Course at LOG35

There is so much wrong. It is so appealing!

Dean, what's so wrong, I do have a helmet on. :D

Skip, do you have a butt extractor for that one or do you just stand up and take if off?:jester: Tom

No butt extractor, I have to sort of shrug my way up a bit using the roll bar until I can get a heel on a cross bar then I can use my legs to stand up and step out and into my shoes.

I have to take my shoes off to drive it and I stuff them between my butt and the interior side panels to help hold me in place. The throttle and brake pedals are just forward of the headlights.

Here's a few more pictures from a different photographer.

This smile in this picture is priceless...you look like a ten year old with a new go kart.

I had just completed one of the two runs where I managed to complete the whole course. I had also managed to hang the tail out and even got some tire squeal on one of the gates. I was a happy camper. :)

How I get out of the car, about as graceful as getting out of the Caterham with the weather gear installed. :D

What Shrek would look like if he owned a Caterham/Lotus 7 :D

Yep, it does.....sorry Skip :jester:

it's the great pumpkin, charlie brown!

Good one. That was a loaner helmet. They were all that color. Makes a nice Bronco's color combination with the orange and blue.

Go Broncos, stomp KC tonight! :hurray:

Judging from the look on my face I think that was when I was lost and wondering why the course worker waved me off in that particular direction. A couple of times when I got off course I looked around and at least three course workers were waving me in different directions. This was my first time on autocross in at least 35 years and even in those early days I got lost on the course a lot.

I particularly like the way that Skip has rendered the roll bar on the Baby 7 a functionally useless appendage.

Its actually quite useful. It is instrumental in getting myself in and out of the car. Also useful for pushing the car around.

I used it today to lift the back end of the car onto the trailer after the British Motoring Conclave. Very handy item, it just won't do its primary job for me and I hope I never need it for that.
