yellowss7
List keeps growing. The more the merrier. Still looking for some Stalker representation. Just realized that we've never had a Westfield at our gathering. Are there any Westfields on the the East coast, or are they just fairweather cars. :leaving: 1) Croc, Caterham 2) Yellowss7, Caterham 3) Kitcat, Caterham 4) Michael D, Caterham 5) Dave D, Superformance S1 6) FE07, Caterham 7) JBH, Caterham 8) Simon W, Caterham 9) RGTorque, WCM Ultralight 10)Wemdt, Birkin 11)TBox 56, Birkin 12)Fmorser, Locost 13)Sk400, Caterham 14)Birkin Dave & son., Birkin 15) George H., Birkin 16) Scott L., Caterham 17) Norm B., Caterham Edited February 16, 2016 by yellowss7
Croc
One Westfield S2000 was being put together by Matt last year. I wonder if he is finished yet? I doubt they are just fair weather cars although thats all the owners may be good for in CA. :jester: Could be useful as a canoe in the Pacific Northwest? yellowss7
Our potential attendee list continues to grow. Looks possible that this will be the largest group yet. Still looking for a Stalker and Westfield to make a showing as the Birkin boys are making a big push this year. Steve,S, is your Birkin finished and ready for it's Debut? Come on Stig, your shiny Caterham needs to stretch it's legs, I'm sure there are a few more sevens in the Northeast or Mid Atlantic area that are lurking out there. Where else do you get to see and hang out with this many Sevens??? Even if you don't track it, it's still a great place to hang out and meet your fellow Seveners. Only requirement is that you are a fun guy. NO Debbie Downers allowed. :smilielol5: Tom 1) Croc, Caterham 2) Yellowss7, Caterham 3) Kitcat, Caterham 4) Michael D, Caterham 5) Dave D, Superformance S1 6) FE07, Caterham 7) JBH, Caterham 8) Simon 450, Caterham 9) RGTorque, WCM Ultralight 10)Wemdt, Birkin 11)TBox 56, Birkin 12)Fmorser, Locost 13)Sk400, Caterham 14)Birkin Dave & son., Birkin 15) George H., Birkin 16) Scott L., Caterham 17) Norm B., Caterham 18 d15b7, Caterham/lotus 19) BBall7754, Something shiny. Kitcat
Tom, what is the upper limit for se7ens in our run group, 25-30?
yellowss7
Hi Mike, The Porsche and BMW clubs run as many as 60 cars on track in the same group. Our NJMP drivers club usually runs between 10-18 cars with 30 being a really busy weekend. Last year I think we had 19 cars on track one day and If you recall, we never had any trains as every 7 was quick thru the turns and courteous with the point byes. I think we could easily handle 25 or so with no issue and still have large sections of open track. Since it's not a race, and we are all friends out there, I don't see any issues with a few extra cars. Can you imagine 60 Porsche drivers on track together??? :banghead:
Croc
Tom is right. I found large parts of the track quite empty out there even with 19 cars on track. The traffic flows much better with our group plus we are all drivers of a good consistent experience level. That said, the "soft" limit Tom and I had in mind was always 25 cars simply because we could not envisage ever getting any more. The fact we are contemplating this potential is really quite exciting. On Lightning, SCDA was running 35-38 cars when we ran with them. I have seen PCA run with 55+ cars on Lightning - what a shambles - no thanks. And I have seen 200+ Lemons cars on Lightning - complete anarchy! It may sound selfish but I would like to keep the numbers lower to preserve the quality of the track time for everyone. Al N.
Man, stinks that the fencing nationals (at least my daughter's events) run over this weekend 2016. Was great to see so many old faces/new cars last year.
Croc
Just a reminder to everyone to book your Millville hotel rooms early as the overflow from the Jersey Shore usually books out some of the hotels that weekend and it can be difficult to get a hotel room at late notice. This usually does not apply to the NJMP pit suites as these are only reserved by track users staying overnight.
yellowss7
Croc must have been reading my mind. I booked my rooms last night. Ask for the AAA or SCCA rate when you book. Only a little over 3 months before the event. It will be here before you know it. One more entrant gets us to 20. Who's it going to be. :driving: Tom
Croc
Well I saw one person having a run at Lightning yesterday getting up to speed with the track for the first time. Car looked good and sounded good. He is going to be ready for July! So who on our list of 20 did I see? The organization begins. I met Carolyn yesterday and booked a karting slot for the Friday afternoon before the track days at 3pm. Pool party was organized for Friday night (pretty easy - regular burger menu and make sure someone is serving the window onto the patio). We will get stuck into refreshing motorsportreg.com sign in page shortly.
Blokko
Booked Millville tonight using the SCCA rate. Looking forward to seeing you guys hooning around in your 7's :-)
yellowss7
Great Steve, I'll add you to the list. I still think you are taking a crazy risk. :smash: Tom
MichaelD
Reservations made at Fairfield Marriott. SCCA Rate is a good deal. Brings it down to $109 a night .... and no track noise. Edited March 31, 2016 by MichaelD
Kitcat
I have now booked a track side VIP suite, as has been my tradition the last 6 years. Cost $121 per nite with tax for a pretty bare-bones, but adequate, room. The big upside for me is that there is no driving to and from the track to an offsite room. Yes, the motorcycle guys just HAVE to crack their throttles wide open at 6:30-7:00 every morning-who needs an alarm:)? Folks willing to spend abt 2x can rent a onsite condo wh/are very plush and much further from the noisy track garages (The VIP Suites are on top of the garages). I did rent a condo 1x and enjoyed it, tho I was only in the room to sleep so it was sort of waste of $.
MichaelD
Mike, You could ahv thrown a party that time in the Villa. Then it would have been worth it. ;-)
Croc
I guess I will have to sleep in my primitive bare bones basic garage space assuming I am still alive after wiring up my hot water heater this weekend... I had my priorities right - I installed 2 beer fridges before the hot water! :cooldude:
Sean
I had my priorities right - I installed 2 beer fridges before the hot water! :cooldude: Did you install those in front of or behind the stripper pole?
wemtd
Mike I hope to make it down again in 2 weeks (if confirmed). If you're around I'll have passenger belts this time! P. Edited April 6, 2016 by wemtd
Croc
Did you install those in front of or behind the stripper pole? Actually I did try to install one of those fire poles for sliding down from the loft but the city would not let me have it because of the open hole up in the loft. I was going to call that the stripper pole! Oh well....best of intentions!
Croc
Mike I hope to make it down again in 2 weeks (if confirmed). If you're around I'll have passenger belts this time! P. Friday April 22? Thats a Drivers Club date I think? I was hoping to run the Mustang that day. If it is Saturday April 23 then I think that is a regular NJMP track day that I get instructor accreditation for and join you with the mic and headphones kit. If not then we can get Tom down to join in.
