That is one interesting car! . . . Are you bringing it t he USA7s event in early July at NJMP? (You should!) . . .

I stand humbly corrected. :svengo: :iamwithstupid:

Shane, it's probably a show pony, probably wouldn't make one lap.. :leaving: :troll: Tom

But show ponies are more than welcome to come join in the fun of course.

. . . short history of the car . . . purchased it off the floor of the NY Auto Show in the 70's . . . raced it locally instead of delivering it to the owner in Massachusetts . . .

This was a ‘show pony’ turned ‘go pony’ early on. I’m betting it goes as well as it shows.

drewbreae, that looks to be an official invite from Tom. Hope to see you and the Cat at NJMP.

Oh hell, thats an invite to the July 4/5/6 event. I want to see this one in person. Some beautiful details in this build and an amazing amount of power from that turbo. :cooldude:

:iagree: This Cat brings out the hotrodder in me; all aluminum ‘unpainted, in-the-raw’ coach work. I think I just drooled on myself saying that.

Drewbrese, what trans, rear/diff/gearing, exhaust, throttle body setup, engine management system?

Thanks for the invite to the event at NJMP. I'll do my best to make it. Car will be used more for go than show. Also, planning to meet the engine builder tomorrow to get educated on what's under the hood.

Tried to go for a drive today but about 10 minutes in the engine stopped. For some reason I had low to no fuel pressure but was able to limp it home. Disassembled the fuel filter and found a mess inside, no idea what it is, kind of looks like peeled paint.

Let that be a lesson to all of us. Never put latex house paint in the gas tank.

Seriously, thank God for the filter. It looks like it did its job. Might want to scope the tank and/or run a couple tanks of fuel system cleaner.

I bet someone used a product called Kreem which is used to seal motorcycle/atv etc. gas tanks from rust, corrosion and leaking. It is a lousy product with a checkered history. I suspect that may be your culprit? With the possibility of a total tank failure, might be cheaper and less frightful to get a new gas tank?
