FedEx is not very express

Just a little rant...

As one that is encouraged to stay at home I had this briliant idea. I ordered frozen steakes from Omaha. They were shipped out on a refrigerated truck and handed off to a local FedEx location. Well, FIVE days later they were delivered pre-thawed, or I should say ruined.

I contacted the vendor and they sent a replacement shipment. FedEx got it Friday and it is thawing out somewhere in Norcross Ga. After waiting on Hold for 25 minutes I was able to talk to someone in a call center 12 time zones away they told me it will be delivered Monday.

Oh yes, I am in that forward thinking state of Georgia that is "opening up for business". Now I can get a hair cut, massage and a tattoo, God help us all.

Firstly, I just want to say I like steaks on the grill and since you are in Georgia, you can invite me around as your state is now open for business and haircuts. I'll bring some nice microbrews.

Secondly, its not just you having issues with Fedex. I spent 2 weeks chasing a delivery of parts out of the UK. Then proceeded to have to chase a food delivery down like you. Then my coffee delivery went astray (I only drink good stuff you know). Every delivery has been an absolute bear.

Sadly, UPS is worse. DHL seems to be making a better go of it but such a pain to use them as they as not convenient. The US Postal service has stopped all pickups at all my local mail boxes - I have to make a 10 minutes drive or 30 min walk to the post office but I am not allowed in...I have to drop my post into a laundry basket outside.

The issue with all delivery services right now is partly their drivers are skittish about working. So they have reduced people to make deliveries/pickups. The other part is that they relied on commercial airlines to connect their network rather than going hub to hub to spoke to rim - and they are not flying. So everything is so much slower than usual.

If you like fish then this is also a good subscription option

Wow 7 days Skip! Same as it took the old Pony Express to deliver a letter from Nebraska to California. Mite have taken them longer to deliver a muffler than a letter tho:).

Interesting debate now over whether to continuing funding for the U.S. Post Office past this Sept. The U.S. Constitution gives Congress the power to establish the post office and postal roads. It doesn't say it has to use that power, it seems to be discretionary.

In an age when the news is full of stories for people dropping like flys, a box of thawed steaks is waaaaaaaaaaaaay down the list of troubles in life.

So it's just a little rant.

Stay safe.

My sense of humor remains unscathed.:jester:

Some are taking wearing their masks below their noses a bit too literal....but easy on the eyes.

There have been great strides in the technology of masks recently. I'm going to ditch my N95 and get the kind I see people using at Walmart. These new masks are so anti-viral that you don't have to cover your nose, the air is purified as it wafts over the mask. Even more powerful masks protect so well that you can just wear it around the neck. That might be something our president should look into.

Well, you may have lost your job Shane (which truly $suck$), but obviously not your sense of humor!

I am looking into getting an emergency order of Cincinnati's infamous (and that's putting it nicely) Skyline chili sent to you. That stuff never spoils (how can sawdust with spice spoil?). And, believe me, if you actually eat it, you will soon forget any other troubles you thought you had:).

It’s been awhile since my last bowl of Cincinnati Skyline....and for good reason.:smilielol5:Hey, I’m out of work with the majority of the aviation community, so I’m in good company. This too shall pass....it’s just that now wold be good.:jester:
