One thing that I don't really understand about the AC install, is that the blower motor seems to take air from the engine bay? Doesn't make a lot of sense, after some time running you'll be cooling extremely hot air from under the hood instead of taking it from the cockpit (or the outisde).

 

It appears to be a vintageair mini unit, I've installed one of those several years ago. It was a very reliable and well made unit with top notch components.

Some parts were definitely damaged as you can see. I can’t say the car was in good shape some work was required. Although there is still some front lower rail work required I will post some pictures of that to view later. Overall the car is not in a shape to be considered a salvage. The previous owner told me that the problem was acquiring parts plus it was COVID time. So there were problems overall plus it is an unusual car so they just wrote it off. The rear wheel angle was off and the weak link was that aluminum plate where the caliper and the hub mounts. I just redid the fenders using fiberglass where it was required. Came out clean and stronger.

The 620R nose looks beautiful I had to go with that. The real main reason i chose this option was because the engine ran kinda hot in warm weather. I have driven the car with the nose cone and hood off with no heat issues in similar warm weather. So it’s an air flow issue. Soon we will find out if this nose with all these air vents will make a difference. Plus the car has A/C so there is a condenser in front of the radiator. I had to make new lower mounting points because this nose is 1.5 inches lower everything else is identical. Cool view of the oil tank

If you guys google the vin you can see the build sheet on this particular car. With all options and cost. It was sold through Hillbank Motorsports it cost nearly 90k to build the car with no A/C.

COVID so they wrote it off? Must be nice I guess but then there are a surprising number of people these days to whom that amount is worth a shrug of the shoulders.

 

My bet is the real story has a lot to do with that weedy picture. Someone in the family said, "No mas!"

Yes they wrote off the whole country. No no weed on my side just  good old sweat and tears 👍🏻

What a very interesting story! With your steady work an attention to detail, this car is getting the rehab it deserves. That picture of the car in the weeds really tells the story of how this whole saga began after delivery to the first owner. Dennis Brunton, of SuperStalker lineage, used to tell his prospective and current customers that the cars are very capable of killing you if you do not respect their performance capabilities.
