Ugh, looking for 14" tire options

Recommended Posts

I generally run 13" wheels but also have a set of 14" wheels I like to use for routine driving.  Seems this size is becoming rare especially among sticky tire options.  I've just about used up a set of Toyo R888 tires in 205/55-14 and 225/50-14. Sadly, Toyo no longer make the smaller front size, or I haven't been able to find them.  The only option I have found is Hoosier R-7 in 205/55-14 which I'd use on all 4 corners.

Any suggestions?

I’m running a set of 195/60R-14 Falken Azenis RT660 SL. Wear rating of 200. Not much time on them, but they throw pebbles into the car, so reasonably soft compound.

R888R are available in several 13s and a 185-60-14 that may work for your rim width.

Thanks for this.  These are the size many lower powdered Caterhams came with but I've been using larger tires and also staggering.

Thanks.  While I don't put a lot of faith in the tread wear ratings, I am looking for tires in the 20 to 40 range if I can find them.  For example, I used a set of Avon ZZR tires recently and I think they are rated at 20.  These were 13" and unavailable in 14.

I got a set of Dunlop summer tires from Tire Rack 185/60-14. The tread wear is 200 as I remember.

Thanks!

Here's what I've found so far for 14 inch tire solutions

- 4 Hoosier R7 in 205/55-14  Tread wear = 40.  The issue is that these are not recommended for road use even though they are DOT

- 4 Toyo R888R in 185/60-14  Tread wear = 100.

- 2 Toyo R888 in 225/50-14  Tread Wear = 100.  May only fit on rear.
