Davemk1
So the Westfield banner ad brings this to mind. I love the Eleven. I love it maybe too much. That said has anyone driven one of these things? Any idea on how tall a drive will fit? Just thinking aloud. Dave
slngsht
I've never driven one, but I sat in the Westfield Eleven at Carlisle last year. Neat car. Beautiful lines. But there is something appealing about the simple body work of a Seven...
locostv8
Many years ago I drove a real 11 RHD brakes that took both feet to stop in the SF bay area, I'm 6'5" and could sit in it but with the size and RHD it was very scary.
11Budlite
Never driven or gone for a ride in one, but one of my favorite magazine articles of all time is this Peter Egan article in R&T: http://members.toast.net/joerger/north.html Also check out the build of the same car: http://members.toast.net/joerger/crate.html And a road test here: http://www.totalkitcar.com/tkc_article_837.php I want one!! Al N.
Tom M. of Manik (the new Westfield importer) is a great guy and so is Doug, the Westfield dealer in NC. I'm pretty sure Tom has a demo vehicle in TX. I love these things, btw...
JohnCh
I would love to have an XI to complement the se7en. Keep it simple with power around the 100hp mark and skinny tires with moderate grip. It’s a recipe for fun at reasonable speeds. Hmm… I wonder if Tom would be up for a group buy? -John
manik
John, I can arrange a group buy of XIs - no problem! As far as fitting in the XI, I am 6'2" and fit just fine.

I would be interested, how much would they cost? I'd like one set up for a Miata donor as I have a spare 1.8 engine and trans looking for a new home. sparecr
Having the privlege of 2 11's at work, I actually find them larger interior wise than my very early short cockpit Caterham. They even have a larger pedal box as the side pods are actually open to the interior of the car. I have always wanted an 11, will have to be a westie I don't think I will ever have the extra cash for a real one.
DeanG
There have been a few Westfield XI's that have attended LOG and they all looked good. There will probably be one at this years LOG. The owner of one has been posting on Lotus Talk. He may be runing the auto-x.
Davemk1
My having an Eleven might be a pipe dream but a guy can dream can't he? I'd been thinking that it would be fun to build one but have it updated a bit for reliability. Maybe a simple 125 HP Zetec and a ford 5 speed tranny. That would ruin the old school feeling a bit but also make for more relaxed trouble free cruising. Seems like it would be fun to drive and autocross. Anyone seen a Westfield with a Zetec? dave
11Budlite
"Anyone seen a Westfield with a Zetec?" - I'm sure I had seen a Westfield Eleven with a Zetec/T9 for sale last year but I can't remember where. If I find it I'll let you know... Bruce :7drive:
DeanG
I have been thinking that once I get a full restoration on our Seven I would have a spare BMC engine and transmission ready to go into something like an XI. Money and opportunity wise that will have to slot in behind an Elite. As was said above, I guy can dream.
WestTexasS2K
I know of a certain XI underconstruction that has an LS1 in it. It fits just barely. It will have a quick change rear end and Tremec 5 spd. Hood will need a slight bulge.

BusaLoco
Speaking of Eleven's Here's a bloke I know here in the rain coast who is building one. Lotus Eleven Replica ... and here's his blog site http://www.roderickmclellan.com/3.html Yes, he is somewhat obsessed with (Lotus) cars. Cheers! WestTexasS2K
WCM has body panels. He is redesigning the chassis for more substansial power. I dont think there is a full kit available, but I think he is selling the fiberglass parts. You will have to contact Brian for more info.
