Last Sunday I pulled alongside of a guy in a nice 65 vette conv. Both of us smiling like little kids on Christmas morning. Weather here in the Philly area is sunny and 70F. No humidity. I'm going to watch a half of the Beagles and the Ain'ts and then head back out. Winter will be here way too quickly. Hope all of you have had a chance to exercise your horses! Hank Posted September 20, 2009 Share Posted September 20, 2009 To prepare for my newest work schedule, 6pm-7am, I decided to go hang out with the street racers last night in a parking lot alongside the interstate. I watched the races before calling it a night at 5am. I showed off a little getting on the interstate. After hitting the limiter in first while spinning the Falken's I shot a few fireballs out of the exhaust, I grabbed second, third, and fourth before shutting down at 100mph. She definitely rolls out much better with the low temperatures Louisiana had last night. It's also nice to know that I'm probably the fastest car in the parking lot. scannon Posted September 20, 2009 Share Posted September 20, 2009 Did a 160 mile rally with the British Motoring Conclave yesterday in the foothills above Denver. Great roads and lots of old Brit crocks running around in all directions. Great weather in the low 80s. About croaked from all the unburned hydrocarbons being spewed out by around 60 pre-smog British cars. Today was the British Motoring Conclave car show, around 500 oil drippers on the lawn. Six Caterhams in the show and I saw another unidentified Se7en parked on the street when I was leaving. Bsimon won 1st in class and I got 2nd. I'll post pictures later of some really interesting and nice cars. Trivia question from the tie breakers on the rally: What was the first British car to sell 1,000,000 units? yellowss7 Posted September 21, 2009 Author Share Posted September 21, 2009 Maybe next year. My cousin sold his pickup truck so I need to buy a Truck to tow my trailer. Figure I'll wait until later in the winter to pick one up. On the plus side, I went to an event in Berks County Pa, About 20 miles north of Valley Forge, Pa. where they hope to build a new race track. Still a few hurdles to clear, but they are projecting a 2011-12 opening. We'll see. Let me know the next time you're going out on track and I'll take a ride down to watch. I think Healey developed the SR sports racer to run at Le Mans in the late 60's, so probably 1968 or 1969. From what I remember, it wasn't very successful!
