yellowss7 Posted January 2, 2016 Posted January 2, 2016 Pick up the pace Shane. Only 6 months to the NJMP 7s gathering. :willy_nilly::party: Tom
xcarguy Posted January 2, 2016 Author Posted January 2, 2016 Power corrupts. Absolute power corrupts absolutely. I am corrupted...I absolutley believe that too much power is nearly enough. :jester: Pick up the pace Shane. Only 6 months to the NJMP 7s gathering. :willy_nilly::party: Tom Tom, I need longer arms...Houston is a long way from AR. :svengo:
Croc Posted January 2, 2016 Posted January 2, 2016 I need longer arms... Hardly....the knuckles drag a lot as is! :jester: Happy New Year Shane!
xcarguy Posted January 10, 2016 Author Posted January 10, 2016 More trial-fitting and a little fab work. The shock comparison shows the older (heavier) steel-bodied GAZ on the left and the new (lighter) aluminum-bodied GAZ on the right...both have 300 lb springs.
Bonjo2 Posted March 3, 2016 Posted March 3, 2016 Very cool. I am a little surprised you didn't opt for the IRS and miata spindles. I love the side impact bars!
xcarguy Posted March 3, 2016 Author Posted March 3, 2016 Avery, a straight-axle Storker is plenty...if I can keep it on the ground. :jester:
MichaelD Posted March 13, 2016 Posted March 13, 2016 Great. You are further along than I thought you would be, But then I did not know you would suck the kids into the madness ;~) BTW Why did you elect to choose springs with fewer coils? See you in July
xcarguy Posted March 14, 2016 Author Posted March 14, 2016 Great. You are further along than I thought you would be, But then I did not know you would suck the kids into the madness ;~) BTW Why did you elect to choose springs with fewer coils? See you in July Michael, The aluminum GAZ shocks arrived with the different coil design (fewer coils), but same spring rate...wasn't planned. Wish I could make NJMP this year, but with the new job in Houston and maintaining two households, I have very limited time in AR to work on the car. As I told Mike and Tom, I took a week of vacation to come home and get it on the ground. . . . . . But I’ll get there…eventually. :smash:
Croc Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 Thats an encouraging amount of progress. One thing has got me though - do you panel under the seats or do you leave it open a'la Flintstone style for power and braking?
xcarguy Posted May 25, 2016 Author Posted May 25, 2016 . . . . do you panel under the seats or do you leave it open a'la Flintstone style for power and braking? Caught that, did ya? Robin had forbid my rebuilding the power plant...so...been doing extreme leg workouts and Suave has been practicing his 'yabba dabba do!!!'. BTW, do you have a tow rope? :jester:
