coffee break Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 I am reasonably certain the application process is the same, not sure after that. Here's a link to the outfit here in Denver that I will go to. Their website may detail the specific process used for each type. http://appliedplastic.com/ Now I get it. :jester: Thanks, Carl
xcarguy Posted April 12, 2014 Posted April 12, 2014 Hey, Mike, Just touching base. I know you've been busy with work, but have you had any time to sort out the start issue with your car? Tried to pm, but your mailbox is full. Sorry for letting the whole world know your a cyber clutter bug. :jester: . . . .
MightyMike Posted April 13, 2014 Author Posted April 13, 2014 Hi Shane, PM mailbox is fixed - I forgot to renew my USA7s subscription - good now. I pulled the harness off this weekend and am sending it back to Easy Performance for troubleshooting. I think they screwed up the wiring to the ECU as the engine keeps throwing codes. The band aid fixes the technician recommended were not helpful. I have a plan B in the works in case their troubleshooting doesn't do the trick. Mike

I'll be interested to know what Easy Perf finds.
Mondo Posted April 14, 2014 Posted April 14, 2014 Haven't got my 2008 5.3 swap into my 67 pick up working correctly due to hard shifting... found the custom wiring harness was short two wires from the tranny to ECU. Just got new replacement harness... hope that solves it. Very frustrating to figure out.
MightyMike Posted April 26, 2014 Author Posted April 26, 2014 Update: I ordered another custom-fit harness from Speartech. The Easy Performance harness is going back for a re-work. Once repairs are made and they certify that it is good to go, I will sell it along with the E67 ECU. Barring anything crazy, the car should be back on the road in a couple of weeks.
subtlez28 Posted April 26, 2014 Posted April 26, 2014 I went with Speartech also. I like the fact John was a GM power-train engineer and that they test run every harness prior to shipping it!
MightyMike Posted May 25, 2014 Author Posted May 25, 2014 Storker received a new set of specs this weekend. They are 5.75" Harley Davidson Daymaker LED headlamps. http://i60.tinypic.com/33xik55.jpg http://i57.tinypic.com/34gos42.jpg http://i62.tinypic.com/24e46it.jpg http://i58.tinypic.com/210kg0g.jpg
xcarguy Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 Storker received a new set of specs this weekend. They are 5.75" Harley Davidson Daymaker LED headlamps. Awesome, Mike!!! Okay, cutting to the chase; I'm assuming these fit nicely in your existing buckets.
jlumba81 Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 Can you get a shot of the beam pattern? Wonder if their 7" model will fit in the caterham housings.
MightyMike Posted May 25, 2014 Author Posted May 25, 2014 Sorry, cannot get a shot of the beam pattern - electrical system is undergoing some work. You should be able to get info by searching the Harley forums. The 7" LED ought to fit most buckets, but the best way to find out is to visit your local Harley Davidson dealer.
coffee break Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 DOT approved http://www.harley-davidson.com/store/led-headlamp-pa-11-7339010--1
scannon Posted May 26, 2014 Posted May 26, 2014 At $525 each they ought to call them Walletbreaker instead of Daymaker.
MightyMike Posted May 26, 2014 Author Posted May 26, 2014 While still high, the 5.75" lights came in a little less at $399 apiece.
toedrag Posted September 17, 2014 Posted September 17, 2014 MightyMike, I think I saw in another thread that you used a Quicktime bellhousing. Any issues, tips, or tricks during installation? I'm probably going to use one and was curious if there were any gotchas or prep items, like grinding part of it to fit the starter, or drilling holes, etc. It looks like alignment dowel pins are sold separately. Do you have them? If not, any issues getting it aligned?
MightyMike Posted September 18, 2014 Author Posted September 18, 2014 (edited) It bolted right up. No problems with alignment or having to grind, etc. My engine block had alignment dowel pins and those mated up perfectly. The only thing I recall having to do was use 2-3 different lengths of bolts - that was really a non-issue. http://i57.tinypic.com/flzuyc.jpg Edited September 18, 2014 by MightyMike
toedrag Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 Perfect. Thx. I got nervous when I read their install instructions online, and they mention checking register bore run out and using offset dowels to correct alignment issues.
MightyMike Posted July 26, 2016 Author Posted July 26, 2016 My Storker recently had some cosmetic surgery. The rear corners were rounded off and the fenders were contoured to fill the gaps. IMO, the aluminum looks far better than fiberglass. I am undecided about painting the rear and am considering putting more aluminum up front. http://i65.tinypic.com/21bnhqr.jpg http://i66.tinypic.com/14ujmrp.jpg http://i63.tinypic.com/29epzqd.jpg
