Kitcat
Tonight 300 million Americans will be subject to yet anther government mandate! This time he's confiscating one entire hour from each of us. Apparently it's some kind of liberal, do-good theory to supply more daylight. Hey, if we wanted more daylight we could move, we dont need the govenrmet doing our thinking for us. Of course he claims the govenrment will give the hour back "later". Just like him to kick the can down the road and put the burden on our grandchildren. Where are Ted Cruz and Rand Paul when we really need them? Souldn't they be filibustering or something? Sarah, are you out there??? (apologies to today's NYTimes). lucky dawg
Kitcat - You did not read all of the details. Specifically, since it is presumed that the wealthy enjoy the daylight more than the rest of the citizens (yachts, dressage horses, etc.), they will actually have to give up 66 minutes. Of course, there are several proposed exemptions that will allow the highest earners to actually retain most of those minutes and still get an hour back later in the year. MoPho
My friend Bob says Obama only plans to give the time back to the lazy rat bastards who don't work hard for their time, it's @#$%&*% time re-distribution I tell ya! Next thing you know he will be letting those home-seexuals have the time back too! Then we will all be forced to become home-seexual! I blame those damn fruitloops in CA! You know I saw on TV that they get to take our daylight to the beach all year round..... commies! .

speedwagon
Fruitloops have provided us with a massive supply of used Miatas!! And that is good.
BruceBowker
Just be happy it isn't like the late Hugo Chavez did and changed the time in Venezuela by 30 minutes. Talk about weird.
slomove
I think we should all move to Arizona or Hawaii, American Samoa, Guam, Puerto Rico or the Virgin Islands. See, all these quite nice places and they just don't do that Daylight Savings time crap (except the Navajo lands in AZ under federal dictatorship). I guess they all have enough sun that they don't need it. But, it is not Obama's fault after all. This outrageous law was signed by another liberal commie president, Lyndon B. Johnson in 1966. xcarguy
I think Obama’s problem is that he has never been behind the wheel of a seven. If he had, he would know how to brake hard in the face of tax hikes, cut the corner of economic crisis with sure-footedness and then come out ahead, leading us all—at full-throttle—down the fast lane to financial prosperity. Give him a seven . . . he can keep his @&%*$ hour. :cuss: :deadhorse:

Croc
Stupid me - I thought daylight saving was introduced by Ronald Reagan to stop the sun fading the curtains in California? :iamwithstupid: I am totally confused what "fruitloops" and "home-seexuals" in CA have to do with daylight saving? Far be it for me to judge but I suppose if the shoe fits they can wear it - leave me well out of it! :ack:
Mondo
All we need out here are some tasty waves, a cool buzz, and we're fine. .
jimrankin
All I want to know is if that extra hour of sunlight is going to help our local XXX plants grow quicker (medicinal use only, I always try to feel as normal as possible, at least normal for the Bay area anyway, after use) If not I'll still keep the extra hour and use it for drive over the hill to the tasty waves. :-)
