Do you mean, "all SV Chassis..." or do you mean, "...all SV Chassis....from now forward..." or, "...all SV Chassis... that I will import...?"

That's not a CSR. The front shocks are outboard.

 

My mistake. I saw the nosecone (which upon further inspection looks similar to the CSR without the mesh) and didn't look too closely elsewhere. Bruce - when did they make that change? I've never seen a vented nose SV before.

I asked Lance Stander, CEO of Superformance to do a little video of the Superformance and Caterham display for you guys when he had some time. Here it is. It's just a quick unrehearsed little video of just him walking around and coming up with some kind of narration with his tell tale deep south accent. Lance always comes through when you ask him to do something. hehe...

The CSR and SV have been sharing the same nosecone for at least a year now. And the CSR always had the top venting radiator.

Bruce, is there a functional reason for using the ducted nose on the SV, but not the S3, or is it simply a matter of cost savings by standardizing on the same nose for the wider models?

Due to the dimensional similarity of the SV and CSR, it made sense to share the nosecone and ducting system between them. It was a trickle-down benefit from the CSR.

I believe the newer R500's share the ducted nosecone as well. Right?

Whoops - didn't see this. Yes, the new R500's have the same ducting/venting mechanism.

It is an EU5 480. 240Hp duratec, with EU-compliant mirrors. Those mirrors are not what will be sold here.

Available in the US?

 

To build on what has already been said, EU5 homologated car is called the Seven 485. The same car will be brought to the US as the Seven 480. Caterham explained, while I was in the UK, that the "5" designation is intended for the EU5 cars.

You can see the drive by wire pedal box (look for the bump) next to the flexible intake tube. Clean setup.

I was there yesterday. There was a youngish guy trying to answer questions (most of their activity was around the Cobra cars), but apologized that the Caterham line is new to them and they don't have all the answers yet. They plan to sell only completed cars, no kits. Prices start at $58K.

 

I'm not really familiar with getting to the fairgrounds, so I pulled into a slow moving lane of traffic with a Plymouth Prowler in the rear. Yep, that was the line to get in the gate. ;)

It is not. The prices have been revised. The 160S should be under $30K as a roller. A few less as a kit. About $5K more with engine and gearbox and fully assembled (keeping in mind the rules for registration may require you to have a separate source for those things).
