panamericano
"And the interior is particularly well finished off. Driver and passenger side airbags is a novel touch in a car where there is no impact protection for the fleshy stuff above the waist. Forget the airbags. It looks like it could use AIR CONDITIONING !!! Still 98 f in Big D.
Croc
Just a small point, but the engine appears to be 1.8 engine (BP designation) from the 1994-2005 NA8/NB Miatas with a cast iron block and aluminum head. The later Duratec/MZR engines were produced in 2.0/2.3/2.5 sizes with the 2.0 being used in the 2006-2015 Miatas as well as Caterhams. As you know, these had aluminum blocks and heads. Interesting vehicle the Zero 1. I've seen them briefly over the years but never paid much attention. I wonder if they use the Miata rear IRS as well? You are likely right. I was thinking it looked like the 1.8L Duratec L series that was used in the Mazda equivalent of the Ford Ranger plus Mazda saloons in the Japanese home market and in Europe in the Mazda 6 plus Ford Mondeo. However, in hindsight these only introduced in 2001. So a Miata engine donor would make far more sense as you suggest. Borrowing the Miata rear IRS would be a smart idea too. The boot is particularly small which would infer a bulkier IRS set up.
Canadian 7
The boot is particularly small which would infer a bulkier IRS set up. Which is why Superformance went with a solid rear axle with Munford links - allows for a large trunk, as they advertised - more rear trunk area than a Mazda Miata. I dont know about the Marrakech Express but the Marrakech Rocket has enough thrust to put a Space Shuttle into orbit. Anaximander
Well, I just spent a couple of days cruising around the North Carolina/Georgia/South Carolina mountains and have decided that I am going to sell my lovely 2015 Stalker XL powered by a LS3/480 crate engine with T56 Magnum transmission and CTS-V rear-end. The car is in superb condition and drives like a dream with power-assist steering. The car was assembled by a former sport aircraft constructor/salesman who had previously built a Classic Super Stalker, an M-Spec and then this XL. The XL likely shines the best on a track where the wider stance and longer wheelbase allows for incredible stability at high speeds. People as large as 6'4" can fit in the car and the pedal box is spacious for large feet. It is also fun on the street and I did a comfortable 200 mile day in the mountains just a couple of days ago. It has not seen a track other than a few autox events and only has about 7k easy miles on it. I will shortly put up an ad but I know that there have been a couple of people thinking about getting one of these jewels and I wanted to float the idea before I put up all the particulars on this almost like-new Stalker. I am serious this time about wanting to get into some hobbies yet to be explored. Someone will save a lot of money on this beautiful example and I also have a Stalker tilt open trailer that can be purchased with the car. http://www.usa7s.net/vb/attachment.php?attachmentid=15951&stc=1 Edited October 2, 2019 by Astro Bob
xcarguy
LOL! Bob, you go through Storkers like Croc goes through tires. Hey, when that one sells, do you, Less and PeeWee want to buy mine? :seeya:
Anaximander
LOL! Bob, you go through Storkers like Croc goes through tires. Hey, when that one sells, do you, Less and PeeWee want to buy mine? :seeya: Less says yes but PeeWee says no way. I'm likely going to even sell my 2019 Tri Glide Ultra trike. I need to "shift gears" so to speak and want to play with some other toys. Having owned 4 Storkers (2 Classics, 1 M-Spec and the XL) along with one Caterham Superlight 300r, I feel like I have had some of the best of what sevens have had to offer. They are, without a doubt, some of the most fun you can have in a car. My wife is encouraging me to consider a C8 Vette or something with an enclosed cockpit and air conditioning that she would feel comfortable riding in. The XL is set up to add air but it is not an enclosed cockpit without having the factory make a bunch of mods.
Croc
...want to play with some other toys. Oh dear...I personally know how expensive this story goes... Does it involve: - something red? - makes brrrm brrrrm noises? - Daisy Dukes? - Blonde hair? - copious amounts of lubricant and gasoline? - A fair amount of burning rubber smell? You do know a midlife crisis is cheaper when you just pay by the hour?
