Croc
I assume that such a thing would be a major hassle to import to USA and register? Too far away for me, anyway. Pfffht! Too far away! Lol  I am in the midst of bringing what cars I can out of my storage shed in Australia to the USA. In theory you could import it through the usual shipping process. Its over 25 years old and if you are lucky it will sail straight through. Then again if the Customs guys decide it should be inspected instead of cleared through by paper pushing then it gets more challenging. If it is subject to the physical inspection then be prepared to demonstrate: - Needs to have an original manufacturer chassis plate that shows VIN and date of manufacture - If the chassis plate does not have date of manufacture then be prepared to get a certificate from the manufacturer verifying its age. I just paid E100 to BMW for this on a 1975 car. If the manufacturer does not exist then a recognized historical society could certify it - not sure who would be that for this case. - Needs to look period/patina correct. Brand new engine (original period correct engine just freshly restored) in an old chassis will cause the EPA guys to freak. Ask me how I know this! :ack: - Evidence of the chassis plate being removed for restoration and then re-riveted back on in a messy or non-original way will be an issue. My importer was telling me about a car that had this issue - it was denied entry because there were 2 mismatched rivets so they were concluding it was a new car with an old VIN plate riveted on. - they may want to compare to original spec to make sure no improper modifications have been made. Discovered that one with a later addition spoiler on the beemer...:bang head: You could probably just go and buy it on bill of sale/CA title sign over and drive/trailer it across the border and pay duty on the way back in. They would be more concerned there about proving it is not stolen and that you pay your import duty. Its the hit or miss nature of the import process that makes it frustrating. Jesse D
Well you could buy it and leave it in Newfoundland for the Targa next fall (something I'd love to do). Back in the 80's there used to be quite the parking lot up in northern Maine where folks would try and bring a gray market car over the border, thinking that some obscure border town would be best- they would be told to "park over there between the Ferrari and the Porsche". Better bet would be Windsor/Detroit at rush hour.

Croc
Yep its Busa. LotusTalk chain of threads seems to refer to a $31950 price but hopefully he will confirm on here. The workmanship, dare I say, craftsmanship in that car is astounding. I thoroughly checked it out at a CT car event once and it is amazing to study the attention to detail he has put into it. Sadly, I never got to meet Busa at that event though.

Everytime I see you guys having fun racing in NJ, I feel sorry cause I can't do it. I dont want to kill any of you...lol Anyway, let someone enjoy the car. I will entertain any reasonable offer from my asking price of $31,995.00 I will be back. For the meantime I have to finish a single seater hayabusa forced induction project (formula type car). I will devote my time technically while fixing my screwed up vision.
Croc
Busa - It really is sad to hear of your affliction and has to be personally difficult for you to accept, especially when the rest of you is in good health. If you want to come down and hang out with us at NJMP drop me a PM - you would be welcomed although 2014 track season is winding down. I can understand you may not be allowed to drive on track but there is a passenger seat if you need a speed fix. :seeya: Also, you may want to send a PM to NecronomiconJules (Eric) as he was looking to get in touch with you re your Westfield. Off Road SHO
I didn't know SVT did anything with the Fusion that he mentions in the description. The fact that he doesn't show the front of the engine, the as is clause and shipping to AZ would kill it for me and I wonder why no intake or exhaust headers. I can see him selling the accessories. breezy7
I don’t think that is a SVT engine as advertised,it looks like a standard Zetec. It doesn’t have the variable intake cam solenoid.
Off Road SHO
AHA! Upon closer examination of the reflection in the glass, the reason he doesn't show the front of the engine is clear. The timing belt is hanging out, evidence of the head having been removed and explaining why no intake and exhaust. No thanks. Tom
Jackal
Yeah, looking at it more now I think you may be right. There's no clear shot of the front of the valve cover, so there may still be the solenoid, but on a black top that would make it a VCT (what I have). I don't think its that either though because the VCT usually has that marking on the cover as well. Beyond all that, I think the SVT engine came with a silvertop valve cover. EDIT All that said, Finding a standard Zetec head to replace the VCT I currently have would be nice as well. Croc
Busa's Westfield is listed on Craigslist here. A truly superb car to inspect if you ever get the chance. The car is located in the USA, New England area Honda S2000 VTEC F20c Engine, drivetrain and ancillaries are stock Honda including the digital dash. This car was bought in England, and was shipped in 1993 by cargo plane. It was professionally built and I am the original owner. It is one of the most popular Lotus Seven versions in England and Europe. It is currently registered (state registered upon request) and road worthy approved. The car is a turnkey -- the car is mechanically and electronically sound (with no leaks). It can be driven to destination. The build parts for this car are premium - durable and dependable. No shortcuts and cheap Chinese parts were used for assembly. Extremely clean, no rust, fully chromed and has many carbon fiber body panels. All drivetrain parts can be acquired at your local Honda dealer. Performance: Due to the excessive power to weight ratio (dyno sheet upon request), the car was fitted with a custom carbon fiber rear wing for stability at high speeds. The rear wing is a simple bolt on accessory and can be easily removed in minutes. The middle roll bar is for safety and support. There is no problem for the passenger to ride which in between the legs. However, the support bar is also easy on off & can be removed in minutes. This car is extremely fast and will give any Ferrari, Lamborghini, or Porsche a run for its money in any road course. The supercharger power is linear throughout the redline (holds on @ 13 pounds of boost when the VTEC engages). It is equipped with a premium Rotrex supercharger ($5k). http://www.rotrex.com/Home/Technology/Product_Concept The engine is capable of revving over 9,000 rpm. The car is also equipped with a 6 speed Honda transmission.
