Paul Hill
That's a pretty lame excuse Croc, letting work get in the way of our Saturday morning is unacceptable. Not sure how you'll survive Thanksgiving....do they have Black Friday sales there? Football games? Or will you be too busy with sea turtle races? I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and say you probably earned the relaxation. Enjoy yourself!

Paul Hill
I thought crazy was a prerequisite for posting on this forum? All you have to do is look at what we on here consider to be cars! Any sane person would run from the lack of creature comforts and any semblance of practicality.....
Croc
Croc: 40K miles (ru crazy:))? Whats wrong with being crazy? This is coming from a person who calls himself "the Enema" on track! :spam:

Any sane person would run from the lack of creature comforts and any semblance of practicality..... Sane people? I was at a car show in Lancaster, CA a month ago with my Westfield and talked to many people. Several of them were surprised that I was going to drive it home. 30 miles. On the streets. Within the speed limits (OK, sorta). I don't call that sane.... I don't know what it is, but I don't call it sanity. Heck, motorcycles have fewer creature comforts and people don't give them a second thought. Post-Naderism?
wemtd
I believe MichaelD insightfully pointed out "that we've all got the same screw loose" so this is all the pot calling the kettle black.
Kitcat
Croc: It's the OTHER drivers who call me "the blue enema". I like to think of my self as just tagging along and "closely" watching their lines so as to learn:).

Paul Hill
And the insanity is intensified by the fact I am guessing a good number here have more than 1 iron in the fire, multiple projects/interests that all steal time. Add in family (in most cases?) and spare time becomes a luxury.... Yup, we're all certifiable!
Croc
Well since Paul will be bored this morning I rustled up some other tasty goodies to help him to dribble coffee on his keyboard this morning! :conehead: First up is from F40 Motorsports. Yes you have the chance to go head to head with Wayne Carini with this Lotus Seven SB1844 in CT. You too can be featured on 'Chasing Classic Cars' and demonstrate to us all that you have the wallet, if not the stones, to negotiate a good price with a man who I think is a superb dealmaker and will strip you out of your shorts before you even turn the key! Go for it - we are ALL watching! :dupe: http://www.hemmings.com/classifieds/dealer/lotus/super_seven/1571604.html or http://www.f40.com/inventorymanager.php?action=view&Id=391277 Asking $49500. Its been for sale for at least 8 months. The previous red wheels are now charcoal painted which improves the looks no end. Strong money for a car that has no details in any advertisement. That said the F40 website has some tasty stuff to check out. Over in Steamboat Springs Lotus Seven S2 SB1107. This is the type of ad I like - nice photos, lots of technical specifications, a loving owner. Great stuff. And she looks to be in lovely condition. http://www.hemmings.com/classifieds/carsforsale/lotus/super_seven/1649151.html Asking $38500 A 2000 Caterham for sale at a San Francisco dealer asking $32995. Has been featured in this thread before. Fairly basic spec of 2L zetec and 5 speed, cloth seats in an attractive color. http://www.hemmings.com/classifieds/dealer/lotus/caterham/1678738.html Lots of photos here: http://sanfranciscosportscars.com/2000-caterham-super-7/ Lotus Seven SB1527 for sale in Oregon asking $38500. Restored example that presents well. http://www.hemmings.com/classifieds/carsforsale/lotus/super_seven/1684889.html A Westfield 11 for sale in LA for $29750. 1963 Westfield - This Westfield was professionally built by and engineer from Toyota Racing Developments here in California. It has not just been put together like most of them. This has been sympathetically done and has bee well sorted and tested. The entire car has been built with a high attention to detail, right down tot he wheels and tires. The car also comes with a dry sump unit for the Lotus twin cam engine. The cooling and fuel system has been built to a high standard. This Westfield is very fast, very reliable, and handles incredibly well. The car is registered and titled in California as a Westfield and has correct paperwork to be shipped anywhere in the world. The Lotus XI (Eleven) was designed by Colin Chapman and, like all of his cars, was very lightweight with a small displacement engine and a very aerodynamic body. They were built for racing and were extremely successful, and in fact were the most competition successful Lotus' of all time, with class victories at Le Mans and Sebring. Stirling Moss drove one at Monza, setting a class world record for an 1,100 cc car, with a lap speed of 143 mph. In total, 270 were built between 1956 and 1958. In 1982, Westfield Sportscars started production on a very accurate replica. This is one such and is fitted with a Lotus Elan, big-valve, twin-cam engine mated to a five speed gearbox. Finished in the classic green and yellow Lotus colours, it looks, runs and drives superbly. Blisteringly fast with phenomenal formula car-like handling, it has competed in several historic events but is registered and legal for road use. http://www.hemmings.com/classifieds/dealer/lotus/xi/1658012.html and http://www.sportscarla.com/1963_Lotus_XI_Lawndale_CA_228761551.veh
Paul Hill
Thanks Croc. Seems you missed what looks like a good one at Wire Wheel. Listed as a 2009 Lotus 7, Duratec, 5300 miles, orig price $48000, selling for $24900. Somebody's gonna get a deal? Sorry I can't offer a link, can only do so much with this almost smart phone...then again it could be the inept operator!
Croc
I did not list it as Wirewheel has that yellow Birkin as being sold. Was that the same car you were looking at?
Paul Hill
Perhaps.....was yellow but no mention of Birkin that I saw. Was listed as a 2009 Lotus 7.
